This is the only dental provider in my area my insurance covers. I've been trying to reach them for over 6 months to schedule an appointment and have never gotten a call back after leaving numerous messages. The emergency/existing patient line never answers either. This is poor business practice and I can't imagine what the services you provide are like, if you can't even answer the phone. This dental practice should not be conducting any business if it can't operate with normal ethics and professionalism, and return a new patient call back. I am POA for my brother who is on Medicaid. His name is Harold Smith. His dentures were paid for by Medicaid several months ago. The nursing home that he’s in said they were ready. I went to get them and the office is closed down. The office beside theirs had a note on the door saying they had no idea where his office moved to and requested that his patients not come in their office asking. I have called daily and left messages and a call back number and they have not returned my call. He is the only dentist in Pensacola who does dentures for Medicaid. I would like to file a complaint regarding a dental crown I paid $762 for on June 6, 2024. The temporary crown has come off, causing me considerable pain.
Despite numerous calls to the office, I have received no response. Additionally, I visited the office only to find a sign indicating that the office has moved, with no new address provided.
This situation is unacceptable. I need an immediate resolution—either the prompt placement of my crown or a full refund so I can seek care elsewhere.Business Response

I went to Cordova dental because it's literally the only place to go in Pensacola through Medicaid. I went to Cordova dental ( Dr. Shildroth) in March 2024 to look at my teeth . He suggested that I get dentures on the bottom. From there he went through the procedure of referring me to an oral surgeon so he could surgically remove all of my bottom teeth. I wasn't issued a temporary set of dentures for the bottom until my gums heal... Ever since then I've been without dentures for my bottoms. When you call nobody answers and if you get a hold of someone they will tell you the dentures aren't ready and to call back in 2 weeks. Now it's almost November and still no teeth. This has taken a huge toll on my life. Can't hardly eat anything, when you are with out anything in your mouth as far as teeth go, then your face around your mouth sinks in. Now I probably have permanent damage to my face. It's been a huge mental challenge because of not wanting to go out in public without teeth. After many times of trying to get a hold of this dentist I got a hold of the insurance company and told them the whole situation. They looked back on the claim that was submitted for my bottom teeth and low and behold the insurance company stated that the set of dentures had been paid for back in March. This man is taking people's money and using it for himself. It's been told to us by one of the assistants in confidence that dr. Shildroth has a gambling addiction and uses the money to gamble. This is obviously here say to me but when his assistant tells you something like that whispering in my ear, you tend to believe it because it makes sense. We will be contacting an attorney sooner rather than later. I felt the need to write a complaint to BBB.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I am rejecting this response because Dr. shildroth is lying through his teeth. the pictures I uploaded are the pictures of his office and the business' net to him. the business' had to put the signs on their door because he moved out of his office overnight and his customers kept on bugging them to ask where he went. the reply he gave me is the same reply he"s been giving me since March 2024. every time I happened to get a hold of him in the earlier months this is what he would respond with. He was just buying more time. also, he would say come in and get some more impressions made. He wasted my time with this 4 times over the course of months. He would do this because he was buying more time . anytime anybody would call it would go straight to voicemail. The insurance company said the dentures were paid for back in March. Upon research ABC news WEAR had a story of a woman that went through the same thing and they tried to get a response from him but couldn't. This man is a fraud and I will not stop trying to get a hold of him because he has ruined my life. my facial features are not the same because of not having teeth. He's a fraud and he has committed breech of contract. I know this dentist moved out of his office because I looked through the mail slot when I took the pictures and his office is completely EMPTY

Both my daughters went to see cordova dental. My 16year old had a tooth that her orthodontist noticed needed to be fixed before a bracket could be put on. The dentist Schildroth said he fixed it. The orthodontist said it was not at all fixed right and that now she may have to have a root canal and she can not get a bracket on the tooth delaying her orthodontic treatment plan. My 13 year old daughter had a filling put in her front tooth and it fell out the same day. The dentist Schildroth fixed it again and filled some other cavities which you can clearly see are not filled properly.Business Response

This dental office needs to be closed down. My through experience with the staff here has been unpleasant each visit. The dentist here should be evaluated to see if he retains the proper credentials for the business it perceives and his level of competency. The staff here will not answer the phone as if they have your number saved so they see it’s you calling and not answer. They cancel your appointment and will not notify you of such, you arrive there and that is when you are notified with a note on the door or verbal. They have a recording to leave a message, but the staff here will not call you back. The dentist does not have a hygienist working here just dental assistants who also need to be evaluated to assure they attain proper credentials for the roles they are operating in. The dentist himself had not seen my grandson in over a year and he did not perform a dental exam to even see if changes has happened since the last visit, he just allows the dental assistants to perform cleaning and afterwards the dental assistants will give you an assessment to your dental needs which is oh everything looks good. Her finding were false and my grandson had 2 cavities that the teeth had been slowing breaking so now it started hurting him, the dental assistant said the permanent teeth were gonna push the broken cavity teeth out but it did not happen because they were not loose and then I called back to speak to that dentist and told him about the negligence and then he had us come back, then he performed an X-ray at that time. A dental assistant is not permitted to diagnose anything, only a hygienist or dentist but here the dental assistants there are giving inaccurate diagnosis. The staff here is rude unconcerned about the needs of the clients coming to this establishment.Business Response

I had my teeth surgically removed on May 18th of 2023 and I was referred to Cordova dental and had an appointment the second week of July 2023 for my mold for my dentures got and I have went back to have a second mold made because they said they lost the first mode and it is now almost February of 2024 and I still do not have my teeth I want my teeth that's all I want this is absolutely insane to have to go this long waiting on your teeth that insurance has already paid forBusiness Response
