    Complaint: 20037354

I am rejecting this response because: When the pool began to leak, I brought it to Mr. *******’s
attention immediately. It was the very next morning after the concrete was poured.
At that time the wooden stake was still in the ground providing some pressure on
the pipe it crushed when it was placed the day before (picture 01962). Mr.
******* insisted that it was not his team that caused the damage. He insisted
on removing the framing from the concrete, and the next 24 hours proved that
the leak was quite large. I ask him to discontinue digging in the yard until the
leak could be detected and repaired. I never stopped him from cleaning up the
trash that is still in my yard today. I did not see any equipment in the yard
that Mr. ******* speaks of in his message. As you can see in image 32002, the concrete is not consistent and, in many places, less than the 4”
depth agreed upon. Also please note that Mr. ******* also charged me for a 3-foot retaining wall that was going to made of solid concrete to replace the existing
brick wall. When he left the job site, the large piece of plywood was left in
the ground (it was supposed to be removed, picture 31122), and after I hired a
landscaper to come and clean up the yard, we discovered that the 3-foot concrete
retaining wall is only 3-4 inches deep and, in some cases, even less. Please
see pictures 32722 and 32732. Once Mr. ******* demanded more money to
discontinue digging in my yard after the first pipe was broken and proceeded
to tell me that I had to find a leak detection service to find the leak and let
him know what they discovered. It took over a week to get the leak detection people
out to find the leak and several more days to get an estimate and description
of what was broken. It was not until I paid for the leak detection service and
confirmed it was Mr. *******’s work that caused the damage that he offered to
come out and fix the pipe. When I asked him how he planned to plug the pool and
what the fix was going to include, he began making accusatory remarks and becoming
angry on the phone. At that point I simply asked that someone licensed to fix
the pipe to ensure there would not be future issues. Mr. ******* did send out a
licensed pool contractor to fix the broken pipe. The gaping hole was left per
the direction of Mr. ******* causing injury to one of my dogs that fell into
the hole. I was not waiting “years” for someone to come do the concrete, I had
only been in the house less than one year. Mr. *******’s cement work is subpar,
and he did not provide the value of workmanship that was promised. As you can
see in his message, he is still making accusations toward me. I am not trying to
slander Mr. *******; I have pictures of the work and the job site to support my
    complaints.

    Sincerely,

Lori ***mework for the concrete pads. I asked if they were going to remove the rock and he said that they would remove a portion, but that they would use some of the existing rock as a foundation for the concrete. I am not familiar with concrete work and trusted what he was telling me. During this process they broke a pipe to my pool and my pool began to leak water at an alarming rate. We did not know where the break in the pipe was, and Mr. ******* denied any responsibility. I then told him that they needed to stop working until we could find the leak and have it repaired. He insisted that I give him another payment to stop the work and then told me they would return to finish. Phone conversations were stressful as Mr. ******* was disrespectful and accusatory. They never returned to complete the work. I have had the concrete inspected to discover what should have been 4 inches thick is only 1.5 inches thick. Mr. ******* did not provide the work we agreed on and the concrete is not safe!

    Business Response

    Date: 06/07/2023

When I arrived on job customer said I couldn’t get anybody to come out for years. I started job capped off sprinklers. So along this process she had a backyard full of rocks. Do during the process a 1” 1/2 pipe got broken, not intentional, it was out of sight. I told her I could fix it, remind u I’m a licensed legal contractor that has the first right to fix problems if they occur, during a renovation it can occur, she immediately had me to stop working, remind u the pipe was broken by pool equipment. . Concrete poured, she discovered leak 24 hours after pour. Wouldn’t allow me to fix leak. Then it took her 2 weeks to get someone out for an estimate, she stated and sent a photo of it costing $2000.00 which is the remaining balance. She still denied me to fix it, she then allowed a guy to fix it and didn’t ask for his insurance nor workers comp insurance. So not we 3 weeks into job, so I told any texted her that I can come out and finish the hour clean up and finish the small retaining wall she stopped me from finishing job 3 weeks prior, she fail to respond, there is still an unpaid balance exceeding $2000.00, but she comes on BBB to slander my company, she has the new concrete, she says there is a couple areas that could’ve possibly not been thicker than 4” but , there were machines there during the pour, but can easily b fixed and resolved. I’m not perfect, but . She ignores call but chooses to come on BBB to slander my name , NOW I SEE WHY NOBODY ELSE EVER CAME OUT,! THIS IS NEW MILLENNIUM CONCRETE RESPONDING TO THIS COMPLAINT , HAVE A BLESSED DAY
