I contracted with this company in Panama City Fl., to move from 100 ****** *** to 1105 ***** ***, Panama City Beach on 28 Aug 23. The estimated cost was around $400 based on the distance and small amount of items. By the time of the move, I decided not to move some of the furniture from the original quote. I prepositioned all the furniture so the movers would have no doubt what to pack, making for a more efficient move. On the 28th, the movers called from Sandestin, Fl., approximately 29 miles from the 79 West location. My understanding was that I would be billed the time it would take to travel from the Panama City location but instead I was billed for the time beginning when they left Sandestin. It was a hot day and I offered them bottled water from the fridge. One of the workers took a beer instead and claimed my friend told him it was ok. My friend denies this, but in any case, why is drinking a beer okay? After loading, they sat in their truck at 79 West for at least 15 minutes. I timed it as I sat and waited for them to depart. I had to leave and it was another 20 to 25 minutes before the movers arrived at my new apt. There was damage to the door and doorway at 79 West as well as grease and dirt marks on the door. When the movers finished, I told them of the damages, to now include the bed frame, mattress cover, and the apt door facing. The lead mover became clearly upset and took over 20 to 30 minutes to complete his paperwork. They were very unprofessional, not in any type of uniform that I could tell, and the lead mover even removed his shirt. My bill came to nearly $700, well over the estimate provided. The company repaired the damages to the apartments and replaced the mattress cover. The bed is still unresolved. My father has been communicating with Mr. Carey *****, GM at the Panama City location. My father, a veteran, paid for this move. I desire both bed replacement and billing refund.
