This was one of the worst hotels that we have ever visited. The rooms were dirty, blinds had pieces cut out, broken fixtures had missing pieces, broken safety chain, dim hallways and a parking lot with few lights. We are from out of state and were unaware of "Motorcycle (Bike) Week. We paid for a 2 room suite and they put us next to the street. The noise of the motorcycles on the road next to us was so loud that sleep and conversation were impossible. The night employee (*****) told us that we could move to a one room accomodation away from the street but would not give us two one-bedroom rooms. The hotel has around 50 rooms and was almost empty. There were only two other cars in the parking lot at 10:00 PM. We felt that it was a reasonable request to move us. ***** refused out request and told us that the noise would be better around 1:00 AM. We finally went to sleep at 2:00 AM until the fire alarm went off at 3:20 AM for over 15 minutes. The manager had trouble turning it off and there was no response by the fire department. We finally fell asleep around 4:00 AM and slept until the motorcycle noise woke us up early in the morning. That morning, the day manager ***** told us the he "couldn't give away free rooms." We told him that it was poor business practice to allow customers to be miserable when a simple remedy could have been taken. His response that it was "Bad for Business" and "Do what you gotta do" about our complaint. This experience is an example of a business using the excuse of "It's bad for business" to sacrifice customers' well being. This was the worst night of our vacation without sleep due to the hotel's bad business model.
