The Airline Academy Response
12/09/2022
Approximately 50% to 65% of each class are normally offered jobs before departing MCO, with approximately 25% hired subsequently by numerous airlines through our placement assistance.
We did in fact have the scheduled airline recruiter attend this class. Unfortunately, as a result of Hurricane Nicole causing the closure of the MCO airport at 7pm that evening, she had to depart abruptly after presenting her group presentation. My understanding is she will be extending job offers in January to the majority who were in attendance.
The Airline Academy has two programs. Our Customer Service course consists of two weeks at the Daytona Beach airport with hands on training with SABRE equipment contracted through American Airlines. The second course is an accelerated one week Flight Attendant program contracted through Jet Blue University in Orlando. Flight attendants must typically be 19, 20 or 21 years of age while all airlines hire for customer service at 18. This student was only 18 and not eligible for the flight attendant interview and thus chose to also attend both courses.
Tuition for each course is $3995.00 and as with any school, must be paid prior to attendance.
Your allegations of a diploma mill are unfounded, as each of your customer service classmates did in fact pass as required. The test you are referring to in the MCO portion was not a requirement to pass or be sent home, but to get everyone's attention and be prepared to be able to pass the actual airline in-house requirements, for those that are hired. As to not putting The Airline Academy on your resume, that did not come from us, and again is also unfounded. I have a feeling you became a victim of one of your classmates who was and is continuing to spread misinformation to all that will listen.
The purpose of any school is to provide the student with an education. None can provide a job guarantee. The fact that our placement rate is extremely high leads some to expect immediate gratification. We have had over 5,000 graduates, with over 4,000 receiving job offers from over 60 airlines. We feel that our placement record compares favorably to any college, university, or trade school in the country.
