On Dec. 3rd, after much back and forth for only two months, we discovered that our rented out house had been trashed, all the furniture stolen, and generally turned into a criminal location. We had retained Coldwell Bank to secure a tenant for us. They told us they did background checks, and otherwise vetted the tenant. After checking the tenant's previous residence myself, and discussing with the police, we discovered the tenant had a drug record, had done this crime before, and that the real estate company never contacted her previous residence. Because of their negligence, the real estate company put a known criminal into my home who then proceeded to rob and corrupt the house. I am livid, my wife is in tears (this was a home where we raised are children and would go on vacation). We had only rented it in September, but due to erratic activity after she moved in we realized something was wrong and quickly moved to get the tenant out. We want restitution from the people we paid to ensure we were not going to be placed into this position.
