I stayed at the Days Inn with my family (Husband &2 boys) this past weekend to go to ********* The first night I woke up at midnight to a lot of loud guests. It seems that this is a normal occurrence at this hotel & that I just made a mistake staying there. I reached out to Expedia to see if there was a way to get a refund & the only thing they said they could do was contact the hotel. I told them it was fine &I would just know for next time not to book there. The 2nd day I reached out to the hotel to ask for towels & trash bags (I did not need room service). Those items never came so we used our wet beach towels. That night my son was using the bathroom and got stuck in the bathroom. For some reason, the door knob stopped working and he was literally locked inside the bathroom. We went to call the front desk & the phone in the hotel did not have a dial tone, so I tried to call with my cell phone unable to get through with just a busy signal. My husband had to run down to the front desk to get help. It took 3 men to eventually break the bathroom door for my son to come out. My son put his timer on and he was in the bathroom for over an hour until almost 10 PM that night. Instead of offering to pay for the hotel that night, the front desk manager thought bringing an ice cream cone for our 2 boys that late at night would suffice. Right before my son went into that bathroom, my other son (who is an autistic 4 year old) was in there. I can't imagine how terrifying that would have been for him had that door broke while he was in there. He was already so upset about his brother being stuck in the bathroom. I feel that it is not too much to ask for Days Inn to refund at least one of our nights f not the entire stay for the poor service and accommodations given that our son was literally locked inside their bathroom. I have always had good experiences with Days Inn in the past & am shocked their hotel was in this condition and needed so many updates.
