In March 2015, BBB contacted this business regarding the advertising on the website www.progressmobility.com. BBB asked the business to substantiate or alter statements made claiming "Tell Us the Scooter You Want & We Will Give You the Best Price Guaranteed!" and "Lowest Price Guaranteed." BBB Code of Advertising indicates Despite an advertiser's best efforts to ascertain competitive prices, the rapidity with which prices fluctuate and the difficulty of determining prices of all sellers at all times preclude an absolute knowledge of the truth of unqualified underselling/lowest price claims.

Advertisers must have proper substantiation for all claims prior to dissemination. Unqualified underselling claims must be avoided. Advertisers can lessen the potential for consumer confusion by appropriate qualifications to any underselling/lowest price claim, such as by stating, if truthful, that the advertiser will meet or beat a lower price.

BBB asked the business to substantiate or alter statements made claiming "Retail Price: $600.60 Sale Price: $189.95 You save 68%" and all other price listings showing a retail price and sale price. BBB Code of Advertising indicates that "List price," "manufacturer's list price," "reference price," "suggested retail price," and similar terms, hereinafter collectively referred to as "list price," may be used deceptively to state or imply a savings which was not, in fact, the case. To the extent that a list price does not in fact correspond to the price at which substantial sales of the product in question have been made, the advertisement of a reduction may mislead the consumer. Such a comparison must be substantiated by the advertiser prior to making any advertised comparison.

In response the business stated, "Progress Mobility GUARANTEE to beat any price on EVERY product we sell. We tell customers when we talk to them that if they find the same product advertised at a lower price, we will beat that price by 110% of the price difference. This is a guarantee that we will stand by."

After reviewing the response provided by the business, BBB requested that more information be provided or that the statements challenged be changed. To date, the business has not replied to this request or altered the statements in question.
