I rented a car on December 9th 2022 while on vacation in florida. When i pre reserved the car it was for a "mid sized car" and with taxes and everything came out to $88.92. When we got there we wanted to upgrade to a Dodge Charger and the lady mentioned it would be $30 per day for the upcharge which is fine. Then she told me it was a $50 fee for a young driver which is also fine. At the end of it she told me my total was $177 and some cents i said okay then she said the total will be $324 and some cents and I told her i wasn't going to pay $324 for a rental she informed me it was a $250 deposit with the car and you'll get the $250 back so i said okay to that no big deal. Looking back the math didn't add up at all but i was okay with the $250 deposit coming back besides that i wasn't paying anymore after she told me my total was $177. I ended up reviewing my bank account and the receipt and she charged me over $500. Never in my life would i allow $574 to come out of my bank account for a rental car... I contacted them and they have yet to get back in contact with me after i called them on december 11th. They stole money from me and lied completely **out it and lied what i was signing to because she pulled up the signature pad and it had no total costs just information **out the insurance etc. I would have never signed or paid $574. I want my $300+ back. Below i have the receipt after i had already paid the "$324" which would of been the total amount not $574. And the initial page are also not my initials mine are **. I do not like being lied to and scammed out of money.Initial Complaint

I rented a car from 12/1- 12/6 when I paid online my total was 192 once we get to the location total comes to 278 that was the first confusion. We take the car and on Sunday 12/4 the car starts shaking in the freeway and will not go past 26mph. I called the CS # and reach roadside assistance. Noone can get to us we manage to get the car out of the freeway into our hotel parking. I get a text saying someone will pick up the car that following morning to leave the keys with the valet. Noone shows up. 12/6 the car is turned back to the rental car by a towing we hired we paid $325. We are told we would be refunded the $278 we paid for the rental and thats it. We were not refunded for the 2 days we didn't use the car and that total refund did not cover the full towing. When I would call customer service noone would help me I would get hung up on and told I had already called to many times and tickets were made but the location NEVER called me. I live in WI and I needed to catch my flight back. I was never asked anything about the car. This is a safety concern noone asked for details or asked from any statement from me. We were treated very poorly and this experience affected my mental health very much. The lack of responses, communication, and empathy. Being in a diff. State with no car no help and needing to come home. I have never complained about a business but this was a horrible experience. We were treated very poorly and the end of the day my biggest concern was getting the business back their car!Initial Complaint

I was charged more because I'm a Florida Resident. Why? Because they've apparently had problems with other residents in Florida and renting their vehicles. Why should that affect me? That's close to discrimination for being a Florida Resident.
Online my price was $298.44
Charged $422.34 for being a Florida Resident.
Overcharged $123.90
They need to change their policy.Initial Complaint

We rented a car from advantage rental car. We returned the car on October 8th around 1pm. Which is about less than 2 hours we were supposed to return it. I got an email on the 9th saying we didn't return it. I've tried contacting them but the main office says they'll just send over a ticket to the office and will wait to hear from them to find the car. Well since then I've received additional emails and texts saying they're going to report the car stolen if we dont return the car that we did return. I've tried being in contact with them several times to resolve this but have yet to hear anything back from them besides threats.Initial Complaint

#1 - Upon return the staff would not process the return while I was at site. I was told to simply place the keys in the car and their person will take care of this. This demonstrates an intent to make unjustified charges after your departure, which your unable to dispute or challenge until post your departure. I was charged for returning the vehicle with 7/8 of a tank. Despite the fact I called customer service to advise them that I have the receipt for $30.00 refueling from nearby gas station and dial was far beyond the Full marking I was charged $14.20 for fuel.
I was told they were having problems with ticketing system to report it to the local office!
This is bad business when you attract customers with an extremely attractive rate, then try to load them up with false charges to make your money.
WORST BUSINESS PRACTICES I'VE EVER SEEN IN RENTAL CAR COMPANY IN MY ALMOST 40 YEARS OF RENTING CARS. PLEASE DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY, BECAUSE THEY WILL FIND A WAY TO BILL YOU ADDITIONAL FEES. I WILL NEVER RENT A CAR FROM THEM AGAIN!!

I rented a car from Advantage for a vacation in Orlando, Florida my boyfriend and I were taking through *********** along with the hotel and our flights. The rental company designated that they were on site at the airport in Orlando. They were not. We had to take a shuttle. A shuttle that had no markings what-so-ever on it for Advantage. We wasted 30 minutes trying to figure out where we were supposed to go. Then another 20 minutes taking the shuttle to their lot. Then another 30 minutes waiting behind a line of other customers. They charged me a deposit of $250 which 7 days later has not been credited to my account. I called them this morning and was told it could take up to 21 "business days" to release my deposit. I want MY money credited immediately and I want another $50 credited back to me for the deception of being told that their business was located at the airport when in fact they were not. I don't appreciate being lied to to get my business. And taking basically a month to refund my money should be illegal. Their phone number is 1-800-777-5500. My booking number was ********. I rented the car from Sun., August 21st through Wed., August 24th.Initial Complaint

Advantage has invoiced me containing charges for a Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and pre-paid fuel that I declined during car pick-up
Rental Information:
2020 Nissan Altima (complimentary upgrade)
Invoice**********
Dates:
6/22/2022 - 6/24/2022
Non-disputed Charges:
Rate - $264 ($132/day)
Concession Fee - $44.24
State Tax - $35.91
License Fee - $10.00
Convention Center Tax - $3.88
CFC - $9.00
Rental Surcharge - $11.65
Disputed Charges:
Pre-paid Fuel - $73.26
Collision Damage Waiver - $60.98
Add. Info:
Advantage has claimed that the contract is closed and because I 'signed' the agreement with these charges, that they cannot remove them. I declined the complimentary upgrade, the insurance and the pre-paid fuel *multiple* times when checking out with the attendant. The rental agreement they have provided me to try to show that I agreed to these charges does NOT include my signature or initials agreeing to these charges. The invoice includes both of the disputed charges. I attached both of these files to this claim.
I'd like the disputed charges to be removed at the very least. I suspect that anything beyond that is unlikely or even useless (since Advantage seems to be struggling to the point of closing offices, including BNA where this rental occured).
Let me know what additional info is needed, thank you.
