I entered a contract with Ally restore and Construct for renovation of my condo. Original estimation was $90,555.00 + 10% overhead 10% cost. Demolition and permits and work started in May 2024. Per contractor the work should take about 4 to 5 months. But due to storms they said they needed extra time. And I noticed no one was showing up to finish the work. I was living at my brother's place which I needed to vacate in January. When I contacted Ally to let them know that I have to move back to the condo. Ally told me that I need to pay $70,000. By this time I have already paid $85,000. The threatened me they will put a lean on the house and they will not finish the construction. I Paid another $25,000. After this I paid another $12500. They never showed me any receipts. I bought the tiles, faucets, fans, sinks. Per Ally the original estimate has some allowance for me for tile, counter tops, and etc.Right now there are no kitchen shelf doors. Ally took them to get repaired as the paint was not done right on all of the top cabinet doors. In the bathrooms no vanity mirrors. House was not cleaned after construction. I informed Ally about my breathing problem due to dust. Ally told me it was due to my cat litter. When the cabinet person installed the hardware he left all the saw dust in all cabinets. He said to hire some to clean. Some cabinets are making creaking noises and don't close well. Ally left blue tape at many places to complete repairs when they come back. My laundry room still has the stuff so it is not accessible. They left tiles in the living room which are too heavy for me to dispose. My kitchen is not useful as I have all things in the living room in boxes because the cabinet work is not done. My HOA wants the completion date as the renovation can not go this long. City permit needs to be closed also. Ally said there was scope changes and when I ask them to show me they said can't show me because they don't have any paperwork or emails or texts.
