On May 24, 2023 i contracted *****' Air to replace 2 A/C units in my home. Before contract signing, he came by house, look at units for replacement, i told him i needed Carrier units with same capability as old, cooling and heat pump he said yes you will have air and heat. He then went on his tablet and came up with an estimate for entire job.However what what i was not told is that the new system did not have Heat pump, instead Electric heater. Before he did estimate i reminded him about heat even though i did not know difference between heat pump and electric air, also i told him that both units should be minimum 16 seer or ***** seer2 in order for me to get a rebate from my ************* Teco. Contract total for units and installation was $9800, of which i had to pay $6300 upfront to pay for units and $3500 after installation. Friday May 24, 2023 he came by and installed upstairs unit, i took a picture of some information on unit outside, went online found out outside unit 15 seer, on Saturday 27,2023 he showed up to install downstairs unit which still work but was advice to replace because it was old. I confronted him with 15 seer information, again i was conned because of me not educating myself about AC system. He said to the outside unit and Air Handler inside closet add to 16 seer. Contract state, Certificate of warranty 5 business days after installation. He said it will send in a month to me, because sometimes take some time to process. I also gave him printed information on registering withTeco so i could get my rebate. June 27, 2023 ********************** form ********************** Services came by to do energy audit, i told him about new AC units and he said, do they have heat pump, i replied yes, so went to inspect, one look and he said you dont have heat pump, i was stunned by his remark so i disputed it and he took my to next door neighbor unit and showed me what a heat pump is suppose to look like on unit, he then ask me for to show him contract which did and he told me heat pump and electric heat are different, electric heat on units are not energy efficient and Teco dont give rebates for those units, so asked , did the contractor said you was getting heat pump which i answered yes, so he said you need to talk back to him . I waited for 3 months to hear from him about warranty certificate and at which time i would ask about his deceptive practice. August 22, 2023 i called, no answer so i leave voicemail menage, August 31, same thing, September 1, September 6, still no answer, no reply to my voice mail. September28 called and mail box was full. I got scammed by ***********************, who i assume by this i found out about his scam, refuse to answer phone or reply to messages. There should be some repercussion for these contractors who go around and scam people out there hard earn money. Having issues right now, temperature in ******* dropping, have no heat in home.
