Tervis Tumbler Company Response

Mr. ***** and his wife visited our ******** store to return 10 tumblers under our Guarantee. Our store team is trained to inspect tumblers to determine they are covered and Mr. ***** was being assisted by the store manager. Upon inspection, the tumblers Mr. ***** brought in were stained, which is not covered under our Guarantee (we covered interior staining as a courtesy until Oct. 1, 2023 and communication was sent out prior informing customers of the update). The manager informed him the tumblers were stained and this was something we no longer cover. Mr. ***** became upset and started yelling. The manager carefully inspected each tumbler and noted aside from the staining, they looked in new condition, found no cracks or evidence of seal failure. Mr. ***** picked up one of the tumblers, shoved it in the managers face and continued to yell. The store asked Mr. ***** to leave or we would be calling security and 911. Mr. ******* wife took him by the arm and they left the store. While Security was at the store, Mr. ***** was observed throwing the tumblers away, but went back to get them a few moments later.
Mr. ***** called ************* a few days later and spoke with the ************* Manager. He stated he returns tumblers for the same reason every year and asked how are we going to make this right as he threw away the tumblers after leaving the store. Reviewing Mr. ******* history, the reason for his previous returns was due to film/staining and we advised the store was correct in their determination that the tumblers were not covered. The ************* Manager informed Mr. ***** that we stand by the store's decision and based on his behavior at the store, the store was within their right to ask him to leave. Mr. ******* call with the ************* Manager lasted 12 minutes and the call ended mutually.
