A few weeks ago I called this company to get my adjusted gross income to finish filing my taxes. I had no idea they were gonna file my taxes for me next thing I get a email stating the irs received my tax refund and was being processed. Few weeks later they said they filed my taxes on the 15th of March and I would receive my funds in 24 to 48 hours. But my refund never came and when checked the details of my refund they had the wrong banking information on there. I go to call them back to see what went wrong and they put me on hold for like 10 min or so and hung up on me. I feel I got completely ripped and I need my tax refund ASAP and they're not doing anything about it. I go to call back again and they hung up on me again they completely ripped me off and now I'm not sure I'm gonna get my refund at all and I really need itInitial Complaint

We appreciate you reaching out to address your concerns regarding your recent tax filing experience with us at Nationwide Fast Tax. Firstly, we would like to extend our apologies for any confusion or dissatisfaction you *** have experienced.
Upon reviewing your tax return and the specifics of your case, we wanted to provide clarity on some of the points you raised. Your Federal Return Refund was indeed quoted at $109.05, and your State Return Refund was calculated at $1,254, after factoring in our fees. It's important to note that our fees are calculated based on the complexity of the return, including the types of forms utilized, with the majority of the fee attributed to the preparation of two self-employment business schedules.
Regarding the discrepancy in your refund amount, we understand the confusion stemming from the difference between the initial quote and the final refund you received. The *** indeed increased your refund by $824, resulting in a total refund of $1,533.05 after our fees for the Federal Return. The $3,019 refund amount you referred to is before our fees and represents the amount you anticipated prior to any adjustments made by the ***.
We regret any inconvenience caused by the delay in communication due to ********* illness. He was indeed out sick with the flu for approximately one week, which temporarily affected his ability to respond to emails. We assure you that our team is committed to providing timely and efficient service to all our clients, and we apologize for any inconvenience this *** have caused.
As a valued client of ours for the past six years, we appreciate your continued trust and loyalty. Your tax situation, with its complexities stemming from self-employment income and multiple schedules, has required meticulous attention to detail in its preparation. We're grateful for your acknowledgment of the quality of service we strive to provide.
Regarding your interaction with our supervisor, ******, we regret any misunderstanding that *** have arisen. ****** has been a dedicated member of our team for several years and currently holds the title of Operations Manager. We assure you that any interactions with our team members are handled with professionalism and integrity.
In response to your concerns about additional fees, we want to clarify that our fees are determined based on the complexity of the return and are not contingent upon the refund amount. Adjustments to the fee amount after filing are not feasible due to our refund disbursement system with ****************.
We are committed to resolving this matter to your satisfaction and would appreciate the opportunity to discuss it further with you.Customer Answer

We understand your frustration and concerns regarding the discrepancy between the expected tax refund amount and what was actually received, as well as the challenges you've encountered in reaching our office for clarification. Please accept our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience this situation has caused you.
Upon reviewing your case, we want to address several key points:
Unpredictability of *** Changes: It's important to note that tax refunds can vary due to various factors, including changes in tax laws, eligibility criteria, and individual circumstances. As tax professionals, we base our calculations on the information provided to us at the time of filing. However, we have no control over any subsequent adjustments made by the *** that might affect the final refund amount.
Fee Structure: Our service fee is not determined by the size of the tax refund. Instead, it is based on the complexity of the tax return, the time invested in preparation, and the expertise required to ensure accuracy and compliance with *** regulations. We apologize if there was any misunderstanding regarding our fee structure, and we strive to be transparent about our pricing policies.
Communication Issues: We regret any difficulties you've experienced in reaching out to us and obtaining a response. We take communication with our clients seriously, and we apologize if there have been delays or lapses in our responsiveness. Please be assured that we will investigate this matter internally to ensure that any communication gaps are addressed and resolved promptly.
********* Absence: *******, the tax preparer you worked with, has been absent due to illness. The person you spoke to when inquiring about him was ******, our operations manager. We apologize for any confusion regarding her role and any misinformation provided to you.Initial Complaint

March 1, 2024 ****** The only information I was requesting was my ***, which the AD stated they can provide. The agent asked me to verify myself and wanted me to send some proof. She asked for the following information:Drivers license, W2, SSN, dependent info, and a written statement stating that I made some money while unemployed. Knowing the whole time that all I needed was my ***.At the beginning of the call the agent stated that we can bypass getting the *** if I was going to efile. Well, thats what I was trying to do myself, not for her to efile for me.Charging for tax services I did not ask for. After receiving the email, I seen that they had filed my taxes for me without my knowledge.I had already prepared my taxes with turbo tax and needed the *** so I can file them. They didn't get me a bigger refund that I got on my own, but even if they did, I would never have paid $675. AD states (attached) Call for Live *** Agent *** Verification Free UP Front tax return quotes Called back several times and ended up talking to *****, (Extremly Rude). I explained the situation and he basically told too bad, they provided a service. Thank you for reaching out to us and bringing your concerns to our attention regarding your recent experience with our tax services on March 1, 2024. We sincerely apologize for any confusion or frustration you have experienced, and we appreciate the opportunity to address your feedback.
Upon reviewing your case, we understand that there was a misunderstanding regarding the nature of the assistance you required. We acknowledge that you initially requested your Adjusted Gross Income (***) and were under the impression that this was the sole purpose of your interaction with our agent.
Our agent informed you upfront that we are unable to provide the *** from the previous year, as only the *** has access to that information. However, we do offer an alternative verification process to bypass the need for the ***, which involves additional verification steps for security purposes. We want to assure you that our intention is always to provide helpful and reliable assistance to taxpayers navigating the tax preparation process.
Regarding the charges for tax services you did not request, we understand your frustration. Our fee structure is typically based on the complexity of the tax return. Your file consisted of multiple forms, including 1 w2 form, 1 1099 G form, accompanying worksheets, and Schedule C for Self Employment Income, resulting in the preparation of a 1040. A discount was applied to your file as part of our commitment to providing competitive pricing to our clients, resulting in a $475 preparation fee.
We regret any dissatisfaction with the outcome of our services compared to your previous experience with TurboTax. We understand the importance of trust and transparency in our interactions with clients, and we apologize for falling short of your expectations in this instance.
We take your feedback seriously and are committed to addressing your concerns. We assure you that we will review our procedures to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. Additionally, we will investigate the conduct of the agent you interacted with and take appropriate action to ensure that our service standards are upheld.
Regarding your interaction with *****, we apologize for any rudeness or lack of professionalism you encountered. We expect all members of our team to treat clients with respect and courtesy at all times, and we will address this matter internally.
If you would like to discuss this matter further or if there is anything else we can do to address your concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us directlyInitial Complaint

I thought I was talking to IRS asked how i could get my AGI she said she couldn't give it to me but could do my taxes . If you call me I can explain it better thank you ***********************Customer Answer

My reason for contacting you is as a senior citizen I understood that the *** would do personal income taxes for free. I googled the *** and then I called the number that came up. Unfortunately, I didnt save that number. I asked the female that answered my call if she could provide my AGI (adjusted gross income). She said she couldnt get that info, but she could do my taxes. I then gave her all my info including sending all my tax records such as 1099s, and bank information, as well as pictures of mine and my husbands drivers license. She put me on hold, and when she returned, she told me what my refund would be. It was less than Turbo Tax showed. I then asked why it was less than Turbo Tax and she said she didnt know and gave me my gross income which was the same as I had. She just kept telling me she didnt know but the amount she provided me with was less than what I expected. I assumed she was correct because this is the *** and that is their job. Then she sent me documents and told me to sign all the specified places. I asked when I will get my paperwork and she said after it is accepted by the ***. We then ended the call. I called back twice a few days later because I hadnt received my paperwork. I was told by others I needed to talk to the lady (*******) who I had worked with to complete my taxes. I was beginning to get suspicious so I asked if they charge to do the taxes and she said No we get paid by a third party. The next time I called back a male told me she was on the phone, and he would have her call me. She never called. I called again and they said she was off that day. That is when I asked to talk to a supervisor. I asked the supervisor why the amount was less than I had presumed from Turbo Tax. He told me it was due to the amount of paperwork my taxes generated. I again asked where my paperwork was, and he said I should be able to print immediately. I was sent a link to the website and printed the paperwork and saw they were charging me a fee of $1,235.95. I was in shock. I also then realized this didnt say *** it showed Nationwide Fast tax. They also told me they dont do State taxes but when I received the paperwork the state taxes were also completed.I had already completed my state tax forms and mailed them and now I am also concerned that National Fast Tax sent in a second set of forms.???Please contact me at your earliest convenience if you have any additional questions or need additional information.Sincerely,***** and ********************************************************************, ** *****Business Response

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your recent experience with tax services. We sincerely apologize for any confusion or inconvenience caused during this process.
Upon reviewing your case, it appears that you contacted a third-party tax service provider, Nationwide Fast Tax, rather than the **** We understand the confusion this may have caused, and we regret any misunderstanding that occurred during your interaction with our representative. It is our procedure to answer the phone with the company name, followed by the name of the person assisting you. In reviewing your call, this procedure was followed by your representative, *******.Regarding your concern about fees, we'd like to clarify that the fee charged for tax preparation services is determined based on the complexity of the tax return, including the number of forms provided and schedules generated to complete the file. In your case, the file consisted of 9 forms producing 3 schedules and 2 additional worksheets, which contributed to the preparation fee of $1050.00.
As for the discrepancy in the refund amount compared to TurboTax, please note that various factors can influence the final refund amount, including differences in tax calculations and deductions. We recommend reviewing the details of your return to better understand the variance.

I went online to IRS.Gov/freefillable forms to do my taxes. I had one question on how I should upload the documents. When I called they said they would help me and not to worry about scanning the forms & uploading all my documents. I thought how nice that they wanted to help me out but instead they ripped me off. After doing my taxes, they sent me copies of all the documents. I was SHOCKED to see they charged me a fee of $635. I was NEVER informed of any such charges or fees. Never mentioned one time about any charges. Unfortunately, I found out that they have done this to others too. I selected IRS.Gov website because i thought I would be in good hands and not be scammed out of my money.I will NEVER use this website again. I want changes in the way they handle their services by telling everyone upfront about charges & fees before anything is done. The only way I found out about any charges was when I received the paperwork from them. Also I would like a billing adjustment but since forms were all Docusign I feel they stole my money and there isn't much I can do other than let BBB put this review out online. NO ONE PAYS OVER $600 TO HAVE THEIR TAXES DONE.Business Response

First and most important ***** NEVER mentioned COMPANY NAME or FEES and CHARGES or I would of hung up. I thought I was still dealing with the ***. He answered the phone by NAME ONLY. I asked my question about uploading documents and he said to me not to worry he would do that for me (that was a red flag I didnt pick up on.)
After receiving my copies is when I discovered the fee of $635.95 and that it was with Nation Wide Fast Tax. I called IMMEDIATELY and no answer. I called several times and received no return calls thats when I went to BBB and the *** and requested if *** is using Nation Wide Fast Tax as one of their tax preparers to remove them from their list. I documented everyone I spoke to. Also Why would I have a taxpayer in BROWARD COUNTY do my taxes when I live in BREVARD COUNTY.
Again ********************* NEVER MENTIONED COMPANY ONLY HIS NAME. I did sign docusign only because I thought I was in good hands with ***. I had no knowledge that ********************* was with Nation Wide Fast Tax. Why would I pay $635.95 when I know each year I get 100% of my tax return refunded to me by using freefillable forms. That money I use each year to make repairs on the house. I hope this doesnt happen to another Senior Citizen. Ive learned a valuable lesson.
My taxes include only SS, Pensions and Banking. The only forms I used was the 1040-SR and the standard deduction chart. Plus listing all our income.
I feel your company was very deceptive the way everything was handled. Im requesting a full refund or an adjustment. Before I did my own taxes I paid a CPA and no way did they charge me that kind of fees & charges. Outrageous!Customer Answer

I filled with this company on 1/17/24 and I didnt even want too ! I called to ask a question and not once did they answer my question. Ive talked to 4 different people and it started with *****, he couldnt even get my info correct, then there was a accii ok but and routing info which wasnt mine at all and he claims it was to the irs. Not once did he say it cost anything no they beat around about that and change subjects! *** called me about the **** A form thing and she claims to filled it out and all and put it on my account but yet its magically not there. Then I talked with ******* and asked to speak with ***** and I kept getting the run around about that because ***** knows hes in the wrong and knows I know it. Ive been told theyre funded by the irs and Ive even called the irs scam line and main number to the irs and nobody knows of nationwide fast tax. Now my email is blocked and nobody answers the phone. Also my tax tracker app they they gave me saying that the its has received by taxes and is processing them but yet when I go to wheres my refund on the irs page it cant be found.
