Ed Port Charlotte; PGT impact windows were purchased through Home Depot. The warranty from PGT was poor and little to no coverage past 2 years. The cost of these windows was over $7000.00. PGT came into my home to do warranty repair for Home Depot. In the process they broke my master bathroom window and admitted it was their responsibility. They were supposed to come on July 21,2005. That morning, they cancelled and stated even though they broke this window they would not come to repair it until Home Depot paid for their services. 6 of 6 impact widows had leaky seal that needed to be replaced. PGT would not honor any warranty work for anything at this time. This has been going on since May 3, 2025. Ridiculous that they don't support their workmanship.... Buyer be ware!!!!!

I had water intrusion because of the factory seal on the PGT window is faulty per an inspection by Hydro Scout. PGT says the window is under warranty but are blaming the recent hurricanes for the leakage and refuse to follow through with the repairs. I have actually 17 PGT windows in my home and only one complaint. What recourse do I have?

Do not buy PGT windows. They sell a window with a metal spring coil that is help by a plastic clip. These parts break and *** will not cover labor after one year. The customer service manager is RUDE and will not admit their engineers designed a poor ********** old windows never had a problem. The new PGT windows (Hurricane windows) have only been problems.

PGT Windows are awful, poorly manufactured, and atrocious. The company has lost all semblance of quality control and customer support. PGT Windows and doors were installed in a condominium at a cost of over 14 million dollars. The contract was signed in September of 2020. The windows for the project arrived on site in January 2021. All the windows were defective upon arrival. PGT attempted to correct the defects onsite. Which turned in to a 4 year project. The windows leaked and since the association has more than 1200 windows this is a very large problem. The windows leaked after the first high rain event. which then started the process to attempting to repair the leaking windows. The association suffered mold damage as a result of the leaking windows. This cost the association hundreds of thousands of dollars to repair. Almost 5 years after the start of this project the association still has windows that leak. Extensive window testing was done to evaluate the effectiveness of the repairs done by PGT. After repairs were completed the association experience a 15 - 20% failure rate.PGT repeatedly failed to show up for scheduled repair appointment. I have personally spent another $40,000 to ripe out and replace brand new PGT windows. After multiple opportunities to repair my windows, PGT could not stop the water from infiltrating my condo. PGT refused to replace the windows and I eventually went with a different manufacturer and could not be happier with the product and service.SAVE YOURSELF THE AGGRIVATION AND EXPENSE AND FIND ANOTHER COMPANY. PGT QUALITY CONTROL AND POST INSTALLATION SERVICE ARE ABISMAL. IF THERE WAS AWAY TO GIVE A NEGATIVE RATING I WOULD.

Good afternoon, I would first like to apologize for the issues that you are experiencing.

We were not able to find anything in our system that shows where PGT was requested to be onsite or was onsite. It is possible that the dealer or the installer were the ones out there? Please contact me at ********************** so we can investigate and help you get this resolved. Thank you.

I had these windows put on figuring they’d last a lifetime. I’ve had them many years and have been living with them with the seal between the glass sagging in between the glass. I’ve been living with like this for many years because when I did bring it up, it was gonna cost too much for me to get them replaced or repaired. They were out of the initial warranties so basically it’s a prorated cost. This doesn’t seem right I have to pay for manufacture defects.. It’s one of those things that have bothered me for a long time and once I first got the answer, there’s nothing I can do about it and they weren’t gonna do anything about it to fix the problem. If you’re looking for a lifetime window, these aren’t the ones to get…

I purchased PGT windows in 2013 from *******`s windows in *************. His account is listed as active but calls go unanswered. The windows have developed copper spots and opaque splotches which are multiplying. I called PGT customer service and was advised that this was a manufacturing defect and would be replaced by a company they recommended however I would have to pay for the installation in the amount of $1800.00. I initially paid for installation and now am told I will have to pay installation costs again that are due to their manufacturing defect. I am so disappointed as I believed PGT was a quality company that would take responsibility for the apparently poor quality of their product. Buyer Beware. Is there any recourse for me. I am retired and live in a retirement community.Thank you for your time and attention to this matter **********

On 10/12/23 Home depot and rep from PGT came to my house it was rain and dark out. After reviewing the issues PGT rep told me that he was only going to replace 2-out of the 4-family room slides and 1-out of the 4-living Slides. After Home Depot had told me they would be replacing all of them. They have tried 5-times but the ones they sent were worse than the ones I already have. PGT rep said he could see the substance in the middle of the glass panels but wasn’t going replace them when the sun is shine in there lot more noticeable. All the plastic handles on the screens are breaking off PGT rep told me that just the way they are and said that problem is above his pay grade. This unacceptable Home already has been paid in full. PGT rep also told me that someone from quality control would be reaching out to me from PGT. It’s been crickets. This is not the customer service I expect from Home Depot. I would have thought someone from their Senior management team would have reached out to me by now.

I do not give this company any stars but it makes you select one. It’s been a year trying to get my windows fixed. Always missing windows, wrong size, wrong window. Took 9 months to replace a stress cracked window which happened the day after install. I have damaged vinyl that can’t be fixed and don’t know what to do about that. Company repo says that’s a big deal…. I have circles show up on the windows when they are wet with dew…was told that would go away. Not yet! I feel sorry for the technicians trying to fix something for a company that has terrible quality control. They are Just interested in quantity. Shame on you corporations just interested in profit and not consumers.
