The expression roaches move in but they can't move out sounds like what Robert has done with my money. I have been trying to get my money out for over one and a half years. He tells me to wait until January and then until the summer and then until the following January and then until the summer. Sounds like my money has moved in with him and he won't give it back.

To clarify, the investments you are referring to were not made by you. They belonged to a client of our firm; you received them as part of a transfer of assets prior to his death. The suitability of an investment is assessed at the time it is recommended and is based on the purchasers objectives and risk tolerance (among other factors). Any paperwork needed to process the investment is completed and, as part of the process, any applicable disclosures are made and acknowledged. Unfortunately, we do not have control over the liquidity or the distribution schedule. We are happy to help you with any administrative functions (i.e., change of address, change of beneficiary, change of custodian if you elect to move the assets); however, that is the only thing we are able to do. The investments in question were impacted by COVID and are still recovering. It is our hope that they will resume distributions and/or liquidations; however, we do not know when/if that will happen. There is a secondary market for these types of holdings; if you wish to explore that option you can certainly do so. We are not recommending this course of action since it entails selling at a deep discount; however, it is your choice if you wish to pursue that option. We are sorry that you are unhappy that you cannot liquidate at this time; however, we urge you to review both the documents that were signed at the time of purchase and those that were given (i.e., the Private Placement Memorandum) as both contain important disclosures about the structure of these investments. We are happy to help where we can but, as indicated, we do not have control over liquidity and/or the timing of, or whether they will restart, distributions.
