Contracted with Hydrotech Pools on 5/3/22 and gave a $15,000 deposit. Permits were not applied for until 6/28/22 which I believe is past the 30 days required in the ******* Statute. Also the last permit still waiting for approval has not been addressed by the company since 7/12/22. Have not been able to speak to anyone from the company since July. Went to the office and found the office totally vacant with no warning or info on how to contact the company. The owner did send an email on 9/9/22 stating we will have a start date very soon. Haven't heard from him since and found out that he has 19 open permits in ******* county and 3 in *** County. Met with at least 5 other customers and have heard and seen the problems they are having. They can't reach him either and they have liens against their properties because the owner is not paying his suppliers. There are others with liens also when I researched online. There is one other customer in the same situation as we are with giving him a large deposit with no work being started. I have seen the bad reviews and complaints with the BBB from others. I filed a complaint with the ** and DBPR **************** Knowing all of this I really don't see any good coming out of this company and would like my deposit back.Initial Complaint

Signed a contract with Hydrotech on 05/01/2021 to completely redo our lanai, pool and spa. Gave them a $15,000 deposit. They began work in December taking down lanai and repiped the pool and spa. Then in March they installed brick pavers and asked for $36,000.00 more that was according to contract. We paid them and have not been able to get any further work completed. Many phone calls to them provided nothing but lies and excuses. Now they are not answering their phones.Initial Complaint

Hydrotech Pools completed my pool and screen enclosure project in June 2022. The screen enclosure was included in my contract with Hydrotech. Upon completion, I paid the company in full. Shortly thereafter, I received a lien on my property from the screen enclosure company for non-payment by Hydrotech Pools. I have tried to contact Hydrotech several times via calls and emails with no response on the status of payment to their contractor. Since that time, their phone number is no longer in service. In my limited understanding of the ** Construction Lien Law, I may be held liable for paying the contractor even though I have paid Hydrotech for those contracted services. Hydrotech has basically absconded with my money at this point.Initial Complaint

On April 25th 2022 I paid Hydrotech $15,520 for a down payment on a pool for a new construction house. We closed on the house on July 8th 2022 and Hydrotech submitted a permit request to Collie County that day. The permit was approved and we have made numerous attempts to contact the company and they do not respond. This morning we went to their office and found that it was in the process of being vacated. The office manager could not give ** any information as to the status of the pool. They advised we contact the company President ****************************** at ************ which is the number to the office we were at or ************ which is his cell phone. The cell phone message advises us to call the office. I called the salesman that we worked with and he advised he is no longer with the company. At this point we would like a refund of our $15,520.Initial Complaint

Hired Hydrothech Pools to repair/ resurface a pool in June of 2021. The company gave us an invoice for 30% down, $3,063.00 June 14, 2021, and a check was mailed to them. The owner *************************** sent an email June 22, 2021, stating that July 22, 2021, was the start date for the pool. That day came and went with zero work happening. On August 2, 2021 we sent an email asking for an updated schedule, ****** replied 8/11/2021 stating that he is waiting for pool finish. We played this going to start and not showing up for over a year. On July 14, 2022, I called the service department spoke to a ***** and she didn't have an info for me said she didn't have anything to do with scheduling, but she took my name and number to pass on to *****. I did get ***** to give me *****'s number and I called and sent a text message 7/14/22 with no answer. I also sent an email to *******, the second in charge according to *****, her response let me investigate that for you.On 7/19/22 called office again and was but on speaker phone and told they are waiting for ***** to come in to set up times. On 7/19/22 they call **************** and tell him that the job will start 8/1/22. The company shows up at the house 7/21/22 and 7/22/22 drains the pool and removes some of the tile, we are thinking okay it's going to finely happen, but they haven't been back. on 8/3/2022 I emailed ******* with not reply, did call the office and she answered, just giving the run around she didn't know anything, and ***** quit.Customer Answer

I made a trip to *******, and started showing up at there office every day 8/15-8/17. I found out that the owner has been *** for almost a year, leaving the office girl, ******* in charge. ******* got a hold of a subcontractor to do my job because she said they didn't have time. I returned home to ****, I had a prior engagement and they said they would be starting the job. They didn't start the job they said they are waiting on mud caps. I started texting ****** asking why they haven't started and emailing *******. I flew back to ******* 8/24 went to the office spoke to *******, she said mu caps would be in 8/25 and they will start the job. I do have people here 8/25 working on the pool, I will stay till I see that it's completed.
On one of my trips to the office, there was a gentlemen that came in to complaint for his neighbor, ***********************, that lived in *********** for the summer. **** is having the same problem that I'm having gave them over $6,000 and is getting the run around. I stopped the guy I the parking lot to find out why he was there and he took my name and number to give to **** and we have been talking.
Another thing is when I went to the office on 8/24 it looked like they where packing the office up, I worry for all the people that have given this company money. Someone has to help them.
