After a few weeks of dealing with this contractor, my deck has finally been completed. I had to chase him to get the job done. He did not come out for a final inspection. After I inspected, I found one of the rails was placed on upside down and asked him to correct it. He admitted his son, ****, had done it incorrectly and offered to come out and caulk the holes. I asked that he correct the rail. After promising to come back out to correct, he was a no show and has blocked me. I asked him if he would fix this small issue, I would not go to BBB and the FL Attorney General. Needless to say, that is why I am writing you now.

The customer was on a very tight budget... she selected a Craftsman Rail for her deck... constructed of wooden 2x4 upper and lower rails. (See the service order pdf which the customer approved and signed)

Craftsman Rail - 4x4 posts, 2x4 upper/lower rails, aluminum balusters, Trex Saddle top cap

05-16 Customer sent message comenting she wished she had selected a upgraded rail system.

05-17 At my expense, I purchased from Lowes, $1,148.37 receipt attached, a Trex non-wood upgraded rail system.

05-17 During installation, one lower rail on the right side, had the attachment bracket attached to the top of the rail, rather than the underside... leaving 3 very small, 1/8" diameter, screw holes on the top of the rail, easily resolved by a small dot of exterior silicon caulk.

    Recap
    - The customer selected the economy wooden rail system.
    - After customer texted she whished she would have selected the upgraded rail system, at my expense, $1,148, I purchased the upgraded Trex rail system.
    - 3 small dots of caulk seemed a reasonable resolution to the 3 screws.
    - Attached image of completed deck with freebie upgraded Trex rail system.
