The most horrific experience!! Do NOT EVER USE!!! After paying for $268. For my daughter & I. I get to the airport go to the attendant, she then sent me to another attendant , that Attendant sent me to kiosk. Go through the steps of the kiosk be told cannot check me in. I go back to the attendant and tell her I have a flight to catch, the attendant then calls to her team leader- she is ignored . She had to walk to the counter to speak with her. She gets me another attendant at the counter, just to be told she could not check me in. I go outside & purchase 2 more tickets for another $245.00 for myself &11 yr old. Now I am at the airport , I don’t need to go very far to check in. Again, I tried online, the site would not Allow me to logon. I go to the Kiosk to Begin the process of checking in. I get through the entire process and PAID $305.00 in LUGGAGE!! Robbery. I received the same error message. I did go in line now. I’m going debating with the attendant’s. NO empathy that I spent almost $600 and they did NOT ALLOW ME TO CHECK IN, she WAS UNPROFESSIONAL & RUDE. I was upset. She says “mark it as $99”. I call customer care only to be told sorry there is nothing we can do. I go to the rebooking line This rep in is RUDE AS HELL! Proceeded to speak to me condescendingly and told me it was my fault. That she can rebook it however it would have be a $99. I paid another $198 to get in a flight at 10:30 and land 2 hrs from my destination, costing me $154 in rental car and loosing a night at my air b-n-b another $100. Land finally at 12:50 am w/ an 11 yr old. Only to go to the baggage claim and no luggage- sleeping in an airport with my 11 yr old - it doesn’t make sense to drive 2 hrs and have to do the same thing in the morning. Over $755 in Spirit charges; $164 in rental and loss of $100 night fort lodging. And No luggage. Sleeping in an airport . Literally hate this airline. Avoid it!!!!!!!!!!!! However,Review from Shaquala L

Last month my family and I flew spirit and our flight was canceled and rescheduled at the last minute which was an inconvenience but we made it work, coming back I attempted to ask if they had an earlier flight in *************** everyone was extremely rude and kept trying to charge me an extra $300. We end up keeping our original flight which was delayed twice!!! Along with a gate change! To apologize we each received a $50 voucher that expires 7/2024, Which is a total scam! I just tried to use the voucher for my son and I and was told 1) can only use one per reservation and 2) it doesnt cover taxes and fees or bags or seats, Just the part where it says flight! They would only let me use $4.78 of the voucher, a total scam!! Its ridiculous they keep getting away with the way they treat customers!Review from Corrina W

This Airline is horrible to deal with. Our daughter was deployed. Trying to get a refund is impossible even with her orders. No way to submit anything except on a chat. Terrible customer service.Review from Emalee J

The altercation began when ****** was actually in another altercation with a family in front of us. She was yelling at a child for accidentally undoing a retractable rope used for forming lines. My friend tried to mediate the situation by saying that the child is just a kid and it was an accident. She then began to yell at my friend. We were then targeted by the staff for rest of the time at the gate, specifically the man at the check-in. The check-in consisted of ****** and another man who kept calling me mommy after I told him to stop as it made me feel uncomfortable. He didnt listen and continued calling me this. Before the altercation, we measured my personal item and showed the man at check in. He saw it fit and was within restrictions. After the altercation, we were refused entry onto the plane and told to put all extra items we are carrying into my bag. After being forced to put these items in my bag, we were forced to check the size of the bag once more. Now it is outside of restrictions and we are told we need to check in our bag for $99. Meanwhile, for our last flight, we had no problems in terms of bag sizes. We see other passengers who are bringing on large items into the plane with them. They did not receive the same treatment we received.Because during the entire situation we were being yelled at, stressed out, rushed and extorted money from, I had misplaced my phone and was being rushed to go through the gate door to board the plane. I kept stating I didnt have my phone and that its here at the counter somewhere, and to please help me look for it. Instead, they said they were closing the door and told me that if I wasnt going through the door, I am not allowed on the plane. Then, without any warning, the heavy metal door is forcibly closed on me, hitting me in the leg and arm, and ****** yelling at us to move. As we go through the gate, ****** shuts the door on my friend, with the door hitting her in the leg and head as well.Review from RN2024

First of all ZERO stars. Second of all I upgraded my seat for $17 but was forced to move by a security officer because I was sitting in one of the EXIT seats and couldn’t hear the flight attendant ask me if I would be willing to help in an emergency. He had an accent and was mumbling and it was loud in there, due to a baby crying, etc. Plus it was a joke the way he rushed through the instructions for helping out in an emergency. The security officer embarrassed me in front of everyone. And ironically there was a medical emergency later on in the flight and I am an RN and was the only one who responded to it. Then all of a sudden it was okay that I was helping out in an emergency. I want an apology from Spirit Airlines and a $17 refund. It’s impossible to get through to anybody who works for that company. It’s either chatting with a robot or speaking with a Guest Relations person who says she can’t help me and that I need to send an email. UGH!!!Review from Lauryn G

If I could give negative stars I would. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS AIRLINE. Their customer service is trash to the point where they cant make exceptions when things are THEIR FAULT. They delayed my flight so I decide to leave a little later. I get there and they tell me I cannot board my flight. I am asking like please because there is still enough time. They did not budge and offered rebooking and had no flights for the night!!!! Only for the morning. Wanna know the issue? The next day was the day of the festival I PAID for and arrival was way too long after the start. Later on, the festival was cancelled (cries). So I call spirit saying I cant even board my returning flight because I AM NOT AT THE LOCATION!!!!!! And they dont offer me a refund just credit. Why the heck would I want CREDIT for an airline Ill never use again?!?! I want my money. So basically I paid $351.18 for two flights that Im not even ON. To a location that is 8 hours away by car. I SHOULD'VE JUST DROVE! Because Id rather drive 8 hours and get to my destination than believe Ill fly for a hour and a half both way and not be on a single flight.TERRIBLE airline. They are not for their customers, just money hungry because guess what? They offered me a $50 voucher -_- $50?!?! In 2024! I have to LAUGH! Thats the price of checking in One bag of luggage, not to mention their weight limit is 40lbs before they charge you $79! In my advice, always fly Southwest. They spent too much time optimizing that app when they NEED to review policies and improve customer service towards the people who FUND THEIR AIRLINE.I wish bankruptcy on them! Maybe thats the wake up call they need to treat people right.Review from Donna W

On January 18, 2024, I book a flight on Spirt Airline for me and my sister from ******* (DTW) to ******/Ft Worth (DFW). On February 24, 2024, I checked on my flight and noticed an error with my flight information. My sister's name was incorrect, so I called Spirit to correct it. So, I called what I thought was a Spirit customer service number and spoke to *****************************. I told her what the issue was and was shocked to hear that correcting my sisters name was $75. I asked why and she went into this song and danced about how difficult it is to change and resubmit a person's name from an airline ticket and what it takes to create another one. It's simple: backstroke, remove a letter, and add the correct one. ****************** told me that the corrections would be corrected the following day. So, I checked and noticed my sisters first name was incorrect. Call the same Spirit customer service number I reached another person named ********************* who said he works for PCM Travel. But instead of a 75-dollar charge, I was charged $200. I was truly shocked and disappointed that a simple correction could cost a customer that much. I paid the price and made a vow that I would not use Spirit Airlines again. I wrote to Spirit Airline and told them what happened, and they responded by saying they have no trace of a money transaction that took place, and they never charge their customers a name correction price. I felt violated. I paid the money and yes, they corrected my issues, but this company PCM had to go into Spirit system and change the information. I asked Spirit is PCM a third party that worked for them and I never did get a straight answer. PCM had access to open my account to change my information. If they don't work for Spirit, how did they change my information on the computer and Spirit does not know? Isn't that a type of violation of privacy law? Is this a criminal act? I need a straight answer from Spirit, and I want a refund!Review from Gregory W

I was signed up for Free Spirit club, which is not free but has an annual fee. I may have signed up for it when purchasing a flight; I don't remember doing so. There is no way to cancel. Chat is useless and there is no customer service. I had to call my bank and cancel the credit card to avoid charges. The only good thing I can say about Free Spirit is that they sent an email in advance of the annual charge so I could take action without having to do a chargeback.Review from Cristian C
