Why We’re Called Shellback Woodworks
Our name honors Kevin’s journey in the U.S. Navy. In 1991, he crossed the equator and earned the title of Shellback—a distinction marking the transition from novice “pollywog” to seasoned sailor. This tradition symbolizes growth, mastery, and skill—values we carry into every piece we create.
Materials & Craftsmanship
We work with a wide range of woods, from exotic hardwoods to locally sourced lumber processed in our own sawmill. Whether it’s transforming a cherished photograph into a custom engraving or designing a unique décor piece, every project is tailored to reflect your vision. Our offerings include cutting boards, stove-top covers, bowls, trays, wall art, signs, door hangers, and much more.
Advanced Capabilities
Our workshop is equipped with state-of-the-art tools, including fiber, CO2, diode, and galvo lasers—allowing us to engrave or cut nearly any material. In addition, our complete woodshop features a CNC machine and lathe, enabling us to craft detailed, high-quality products with precision.
