Purchased a 2021 GMC Canyon that was originally advertised on ****. There were many photos of the exterior and a video on **** and the only damage seen in the pictures were a broken grille and hood. Once I received the vehicle, there were many ways the company covered up the real damage. The frame was broken apart at the right front wheel that they welded in a piece of channel and covered it over with masking tape and painted black. I reached out to the company via email and phone but only received a runaround and they stopped answering the phone. After assessing all the damage, the only items salvageable were the transfer case and rear axle. This vehicle had every air bag deployed but the only one disclosed and seen in pictures was from the steering wheel. After reading other complaints, this hiding of damage is not uncommon for this company. They put many hours into hiding the real damage. The actual value of the vehicle is about $500 not the $8000 paid.Business Response

Dear customer,
Thank you for reaching out.
As discussed during the purchasing process, all vehicles sold through our dealershipespecially those acquired from salvage auctionsare sold AS IS, and the condition of the vehicle was fully disclosed prior to the deposit and final payment. These terms are clearly outlined and agreed upon before finalizing the sale.
Our sales team always makes their best effort to inform each client of the vehicle's damages and condition in detail. Nonetheless, we also strongly recommend that buyers send their own inspector or representative prior to purchase, to ensure full understanding of the vehicle's state and avoid any misunderstandings.
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer refunds once the vehicle has been paid in full and delivered.
That said, we want to help you explore a possible solution. If you wish, we can assist in re-selling the vehicle through our website or auction. Please note that a resale service FEE would apply to cover administrative, listing, and marketing costs.
If this is an option you would like to pursue, feel free to let us know and we will provide the next steps.PD: Also, we are attaching the sales contract and the NON refundable deposit SIGNED.
Thank you for your understanding,Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:The seller did not disclose any specific damages and the pictures attached to their website for this vehicle were only those that showed minimal damage. When purchasing vehicles that were sold by insurance companies the pictures supplied are key to understanding what damage occurred and bid accordingly. This company purchased the vehicle from an insurance company and spent many hours heating, bending, and welding pieces to cover up the real damage. I would describe this practice as theft by deception. When reading other complaints from this company this isnt the first time they have sold a vehicle that they covered up the real damage. Im not asking for a complete refund but looking for a fair price reduction based on the value of the vehicle if the real damage was not purposely covered up. The only parts salvageable are the engine and transmission. A refund of $5000 is fair.
Sincerely,
**** *******Business Response

Thank you for your response.
We understand your concerns; however, as previously explained, all vehicles sold through our dealership are final sales and sold as-is, with full disclosure provided before purchase. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer a refund under any circumstance.
At this point, the only option we can offer is to assist you in re-selling the vehicle through our network. This process would include a service fee to cover administrative and listing expenses.
Please let us know if you wish to proceed with this alternative.

I am rejecting this response because:
Your company did not disclose that you purposely covered up severe damage in order to deceive the customer. When the vehicle was listed on both **** and your site, it said it was an insurance company accident. But the work by your company to cover up the real damage and make it look salvageable is the issue. I wouldnt wish this vehicle on anyone else and reject the offer of trying to resell. Im looking for a monetary refund due to your companys deception.

I wanted to buy a vehicle from this company which is a ***** ridgeline 2022.I called and an agent with the name ******** responded and he was the one to assist me. I wanted my bank to finance the vehicle , I went to my bank and the requested for a BILL OF SALE or TITLE , I then told ******** that this is what my bank said he told me before he can send me a Bill ** Sale or Title I would have to send $ 1000 with will be deducted from the total cost of the car which is $ ******. That wasnt right but the its a company with a physical location and the agent was nice so I sent them the $ 1000 through ***** and to the companies account.I sent the Bill of sale and title to my bank and they said the Bank doesnt finance a car with a REBUILT TITLE. I called ******** and told him he cut the line and since then has refused to give me back my money . I have called him several time no response sometimes I will call their office because he has refused to pick my call he will answer and tell me ********* is not in the office when he is the one talking. I went to their review page and saw some bad reviews and I saw the owner respond to the review and another was a manager so I picked their emails and emailed them about what has happened and till date I havent had a response. I called one day and the agent the responded told me why am I wasting my time calling the office to disturb them and instead of me to add more money to choose another vehicle I keep calling to disturb them I asked for a managers email and he said even if I send an email they will be the ones to respond so I left a review on their website and ********* called and rained insult in anger on me and told me to do or go where ever I want . Sometimes I call the office they will answer and say nothing but will be laughing hard into the phone . This kind of treatment is a big no for a business and I need any $ 100. Will be glad if you help me get it and also for the to gave the deserved punishment. Thank youBusiness Response

Thank you for reaching out and allowing us the opportunity to respond to the concerns raised.
At AE of Miami, we strive to maintain transparency and fairness in all our transactions. Regarding the situation described, we would like to clarify our standard company policy and the steps that were followed:
1. Non-Refundable Deposit Policy
As clearly stated during the sales process, all deposits made to hold a vehicle are strictly non-refundable and non-returnable. This is standard across all our transactions and is implemented to reserve the vehicle for the customer for a period of up to three (3) business days, during which we take the vehicle off the market.
2. Disclosure on Rebuilt Titles and ********************************start="1024" data-end="1027"> Before accepting the deposit, our sales agent informed the customer that the ***** Ridgeline in question has a rebuilt title, and that it is the customers responsibility to confirm whether their financial institution will approve a loan for such a vehicle. The customer acknowledged this and still opted to proceed with the $1,000 deposit.
3. Continued Support and ****************************start="1415" data-end="1418"> While our policy on deposit refunds remains firm, we want to emphasize that our intention is never to leave a customer dissatisfied. We are open and willing to apply the $1,000 deposit toward any other vehicle in our inventory, should the customer wish to explore alternative options. Our team is available to assist in finding a suitable match that aligns with the customers financing parameters.
We regret any misunderstanding or inconvenience this situation may have caused. We remain committed to working toward a resolution that is fair and respectful for all parties involved.

I am rejecting this response because: sales man did say the one thousand is non refundable and also what he said was if my bank wants to review the title of the vehicle I will have to pay one thousand dollars before he can send it to us and will be deducted from the original amount. The response message stated salesman explained a rebuilt title and that I will have to verify from the bank that not true they only play on customers emotions.Sales man agreed to inform his supervisor for the money to be reverted during the earlier stages and later refused to answer my calls.Who on earth will know that a payment made is non refundable and also his bank will not accept a rebuilt title and still proceed just for his money to be taken? No one . I was asked to make that one thousand dollars payment before the title and purchase order will be sent to us and I clearly remember it like yesterday . If what he is saying is true why did he accept to ask his manager to revert the payment to me .

Dear Mr. ****************** you for bringing your concerns to our attention. We understand how frustrating this experience has been for you and appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns in detail.
We would like to clarify a few points regarding the $1,000 deposit and the communication surrounding the vehicles rebuilt title. According to our internal records and the information provided by the sales representative, the $1,000 payment was discussed as a non-refundable deposit, required to proceed with the title and purchase order request. This deposit policy is in place to secure the vehicle and initiate the paperwork process, which includes sending the necessary documents to your bank.
We regret if there was any misunderstanding regarding the nature of this payment. It is our intention to be fully transparent with our clients, and we sincerely apologize if the explanation provided at the time was unclear or led to confusion. That said, we do take your comments seriously, particularly regarding the alleged agreement to request a refund and the lack of further communication. We will investigate this aspect further internally.
As for the rebuilt title, we make every effort to disclose the vehicle's history upfront, including its title status, to allow our clients to make informed decisions. We understand that certain banks may have specific requirements regarding vehicle titles, and we encourage customers to verify title acceptance with their lenders before proceeding.
While our deposit policy does state that the fee is non-refundable, we remain committed to finding a fair resolution. As a gesture of goodwill, wed be happy to apply your $1,000 deposit toward the purchase of any other vehicle in our inventory. If you find another unit that meets your needs, please dont hesitate to reach out to us well be glad to assist you with reserving it and ensuring everything is in order with your lender.
We appreciate your feedback and hope to resolve this matter with professionalism and understanding.

I am rejecting this response because: Salseman did not disclose any non refundable policy to me , I was at the bank and when they asked for a purchase order and title , I was on phone with him and he responded I cant send you a purchase order and title unless you send a $ 1000 , which I did send it to him before he sent the document. If he had good intentions why didnt he send the documents for the bank to review first but rather requested for money ? Why didnt he refuse to answer my calls after that ? and when I wait for days and he cant recall the number he answers and tells me he will talk to his supervisor to refund me the money. Should a customer be treated this way ? I want my money refunded and would not want to make any purchase . I have been emotionally traumatized because of this behavior towards me and would not like to engage in any business with the company .I have send series of messages to management and they all refused to respond . I just want my money refunded and would advise such sales men who use dubious means to squeeze money from innocent customers should be penalized.

I put a deposit of $1032 on a vehicle yesterday And called them this morning to get my contract and finalize the paperwork only to find out that they were in the process of selling the vehicle to somebody else and according to Florida State law "******* Actionable, unfair, or deceptive acts or ************ is an unfair or deceptive act or practice, actionable under the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, for a dealer to:(10) Require or accept a deposit from a prospective customer prior to entering into a binding contract for the purchase and sale of a vehicle unless the customer is given a written receipt that states how long the dealer will hold the vehicle from other sale and the amount of the deposit, and clearly and conspicuously states whether and upon what conditions the deposit is refundable or nonrefundable."*************************************************************(10)%20Require%20or%20accept%20a,deposit%2C%20and%20clearly%20and%20conspicuouslyBusiness Response

Good afternoon,
we received a deposit for this vehicle and at the same time got another salesperson getting another deposit for the same vehicle, as the system wasn't updated yet with the hold. All customers has 3 days to do the payoff, and this other customer finalized the payment that same day. Because of this, we refunded Mr. ******** his deposit, as the vehicle was paid off that same day by the other client.
This doesn't happen often, but it may happen, like in this case. Attached you can see the deposit refunded to this customer.

I am rejecting this response because: I Was in talks with this business on Sunday evening, and nobody. had sent me a valid payment link. Thus, when they told me somebody was at the yard, looking at the vehicle, I told them to let me pay them now. So they sent me a payment link. I paid this Deposit and let them know I was ready to pay in full as soon as they told me. But rather than allow me to do that, they let the other person buy the car because he was there in person. They are. lying and I have all of this recorded.. so they can continue to lie or they can do the right thing because I already have a lawsuit with an attorney in Miami and we're going to go after their *****. I told them, when they did this to me, that this is what I was going to do. And rather than try and facilitate what should have happened because of the law in the state of *******, which they are very aware of, and I made sure that they were very aware of. Should have allowed me to purchase this vehicle before the other person, because I made my deposit before them and told them I was ready to send the rest of the payment whenever they gave me the link to do so. they are lying to try to save face. And I am not going to put up with it, just like I told them. I will be after their **** in court, and I am going to pursue this bbb complaint to the very end. stop habitually lying, you repugnant scum of an excuse for a "business." I even went as far as to find the owner's personal cell phone number confirmed he owned this business and explained to him what was going on. And he had my side until he spoke with his manager, who let him know that I mentioned I was going to call an attorney if they went this route. They got scared because I threatened to get my attorney involved. And rather than do the right thing, they decided to do the stupid thing. So now I'm going to make them pay for it.

I can provide you with any documentation you need, but guarantee I am going to take this to court. these guys are scammers and they tried to s**** me out of the deposit And ultimately just ended up s******* me out of the car because I told them I already had an attorney on retainer for things just like this. This business needs to be held accountable for practices that are against the law in the state of *******. If you look them up, you can see they have done this to other people and they need to be held accountable and I am willing to do whatever needs to be done to make sure they are held accountable. That includes everything up to appearing in court in ******* Make sure that they never do this to anybody again. The worst part is, after they did this to me, they then tried to sell me multiple other cars, which was just. let's you know that they don't give a **** about me. They only give a **** about money now.Business Response

This a serios business that has been practicing for more than 10 years. The only payment for deposit received was refunded the same day. We, a car dealership, have the right to refuse to sell a vehicle, even if it's been advertised or a customer has expressed interest, we are not obligated to enter into a sales contract and can choose not to proceed with a sale for various reasons, such as the car being unavailable or the dealer deciding to not sell to that specific buyer. We never refused to sell this car, this car wasn't available anymore, the customer could either chose another vehicle, or like in this case, payment of $1000.00 to hold the car was refunded. We are not engaging in deceptive practices or discriminatory behavior.Initial Complaint

Paid $1000.00 deposit for what was advertised as a clean title 40k mile vehicle, when the sales person presented the title it was showing a branded classification with fraudulent unknown odometer number. the title didn't have any problem, is under the dealers name and the miles that shows is ****** TMU. All deposits for the vehicles are non-refundable. This customer was financing the vehicle with a finance company on his own, and we waited for the approval of the loan until the customer decided he didn't want the vehicle any longer.

I am rejecting this response because: My interaction time with Elite Motor Cars of Miami consisted a phone conversation and text messages that took place September the19th, 2024 all in for a total of about three hours early that afternoon. I found the business through the ************** website where the vehicle was listed for sale as "clean title" (2017 ***** Corvette, with 44k miles on the odometer. That day I spoke with ********* "*****" in sales on the phone, as I was committed to the purchase contingent on viewing a copy of the "clean title" status that ***** assured me of the ****** status before taking my $1000.00 payment for holding the vehicle. ***** sent me a copy of the ****** after that phone call and I immediately called ***** back that same afternoon upon receiving a copy of the title, and requested a refund because the title presented to me reflected inaccurate mileage. ***** said they could fix it, i declined the offer and again requested the refund, ***** said okay, it may take seven to ten business days. I have not received the refund as of this message.

It doesn't make any sense what the customer is saying. If the customer doesn't register the vehicle, of course is not going to be able to get a title as never was registered in ******* or any other state as the customer is not from **. As soon as they receive the title they have to register in their state. We are a dealer, we do reassignments in the titles, we do not register every vehicle under the dealer's name, its not an obligation or necessary.
Again, if the customer wants a duplicate of title because they lost it, we will be able to get a duplicate that will be send the same way with ***** so we and the customer has a tracking number as the one they received before. Our email is ******************************** The can always email us to request the duplicate title.
We NEVER sell a car without title. We are a dealer that has been in business for more than 7 years, we are aware we cant and NEVER have, sell a vehicle without a title.

Good afternoon,
we don't have information for the specific matter. Indeed we sell damage vehicles, we sale salvage, rebuildable, junk. The type of title of the vehicles are always disclosed and the damages of the cars as well. However, we always tell all futures clients when they call, that they are more than welcome to send an inspector before making any deposit. If we receive any call, our salesperson send even videos of the cars we have posted for sale, so the clients can have a better view.

I saw a vehicle listed on **** for sale by AE of Miami (they use different company names to sell their vehicles). I made an offer that was not accepted (on ***** then made another offer and it was accepted (on *****. I didn't know that they had taken the vehicle off **** after they accepted my offer so they could sell to me OFF ***** Doing this cancels my **** buyers' protection that **** offers. They then send me a form to sign saying my deposit was non-refundable. I was confused because the **** ad does NOT say the deposit is non-refundable and at the time I didn't know the vehicle was taken off ****. They are doing this to people other than me so they can scam people out of their deposits. I found this out after doing research after they did it to me. This company owes me $500 (my deposit) and they need to be shut down and the owners need to be thrown in jail for fraud! Apparently this is how they are able to stay in business. They scam people out of their deposits. They are selling wrecked vehicles, not disclosing all the damages and then stealing the deposits people are making on the vehicles. They are also demanding full payment within 3 days after deposit is made. If you don't live in ** it is impossible to get to their location in time to inspect the vehicles before your deposit is stolen by them. By the way, they list high-end vehicles for sale as eye candy to make people think they are a real high end and reputable car seller! (examples of ads included in documents.)Business Response

On or about Jan22,2024 i contacted this company to discuss buying a car. Upon speaking with Main *** of this buisness he said he would take $29,000 for the vehicle we were discussing. He said he would have to talk with his partner to see if they could take that for the car. i called him back after a few hours and he said $30,000 would be the lowest they could go. at this time i requested more pictures of the car and we discussed damage. The vehicle was a wreck and was a rebuidable. when i asked if there was any other damage to the car than the obvious in the pictures he said no other than an electrical isssue. I purchased the car and asked for verification of payment received and after reading a few reviews online asked if the car in the pictures presented to me was the car that would show up? it offended ********** and communication stopped. when the vehicle showed up it had decking wood screws and sheet metal screws along with zip ties holding panels on. It was also missing the hood from the pictures and a diffrent front wheel from what i had purchased. it was a bait and switch. These guys are straight crooks,i would recommend noone buy a bolt let alone a car from these people. i have the pictures that were emailed to me and the actual car that showed up. I would hope not only to get the message out to keep someone else ***** getting scammed.Business Response

this vehicle was sold as a damage, inoperable, airbags deployed, electrical issues car. The customer was aware of this at the time of purchase as well is stated in the sales contract that has been signed by the customer as well, see attachments. Also attached are the pictures of this car posted on our website.
We always encourage the customer to inspect or send someone to inspect the vehicle before putting a deposit or making a final payment. We sell damage cars, as is, no warranty or arbitration.
The customer received the same car in the same condition as it was advertised.

This car was grossly misrepresented. I was aware of it being wrecked. I was not told it was a hard rollover with parts zip ties and screwed together with wood screws. This car has mismatched body panels. The company obviously welded parts, put a windshield in it and done what patch job they could just to s**** someone on a sale. They are crooks, plain and simple.Business Response

Good afternoon,
We can resell the vehicle in our lot on behalf of the customer as a consignment car, we will need the vehicle here at the dealership. Whatever the price the customer agrees on posting the vehicle for sale, and is a fair price on the market for this type of car, we can do. As soon as the vehicle sells, and we receive the payment of the sale and clears in our bank, we will send a wire or check to him.

I would be interested in this proposal. I would like more details on it. My concern would be time, what if any commission they would require and who would be responsible for the vehicle while in their possession.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: I have asked for specifics on how the consignment would work. I haven't received anything from anyone in the request. I would like to know ALL the stipulations, specifics and time frame of such an arrangement.
Sincerely,

We can post the vehicle for sale up to 3 months on our websites. The car doesn't have to be here, as most of our vehicles we sell it over the phone or online. We will just need updated pictures as of today. We will post the vehicle for a fair market price, and until it sells, we will send the profits to the customer.
Attached is an example of the forms the customer has to fill out. This is not our vehicle any longer, but the customers.
Regards.

Company refuses to return calls or give any information on how to expedite their proposal. I need to know where to send pictures and other information from the company. I would do a consignment resale through them if they would communicate....Initial Complaint

I was looking for a car. I called and enquired about a 2019 ****** that was about $5000 to $6000 dollars I asked the employee what was wrong with the car and he said the car drives back and forth. It got wet inside but that means it could have been a bit of water inside. The car works. I said I wanted to see it and if I could come by. ****** said to pay a deposit so I can pay the rest in 2 days just so no one will take the car I sent him my id and he kept asking for more ids. I did more research on the car I asked friends and they all said flooded and savage means the insurance has been claimed because this car cant be driven. I then got a receipt where it said there was no refun for my $500 dollars and they would not refund me under any circumstances. I texted ****** asking him why he took my $500 in the first place and to give me a refund. This was all within the same day. I asked for a refund of a deposit to be able to see the car. ****** doesnt speak fully Spanish or English and then he tells me his main language is Italian. I asked him and called the establishment multiple times to refund me and they wouldnt. I live in *************** didnt even see the car. Didnt sign anything and they think they can keep ripping off people who are not very knowledgeable. I want at least my money back. Theyve caused me anxiety and stress. No one should go through thisBusiness Response

Good morning
All the deposits for all cars are not refundable, that's the dealership policy. The reason for this is because once the vehicle receives a deposit, we take it out of all the websites posted for sale, so the customer don't lose the car to another client and we also don't have the opportunity to sell it to another possible client. Attached is the deposit showing all deposits are not refundable, we apply this to all customers with no exception.
The vehicle is indeed a salvage car, meaning it has to be inspected to be able to drive legally, we specialized in selling damage vehicles. Once it get inspected, it can be registered, its not a car for parts, it was a car reported flood.

30th Sept 2022 purchased vehicle VIN ***************** from Elite motor cars Miami, Sales person ML, The deposit $1000 was paid on 30th sept and remainder ********* was paid on 3rd October. The vehicle was advertised as clean title needing some work for parts a previous owner had removed and did not drive. i queried if teh vehicle had all main *****************, gearbox, ecus to which teh dealer stated yes. i had the vehicle delivered adn been informed that the title would be sent ***** to me.the vehicle was delivered October 6th and upon inspection was noted to have multiple critical components missing and was more akin to a car that had been used for parts to repair other vehicles. the car has multiple missing environmental features, such as fuel cap. immobilizer ECU, traction control ECU, parking ecu, mismatched gearbox, missing locks, incorrect key. the vehilce also had been shown adn still is shown as for sale on multiple auction websites. it also has been in auction with bio hazard markings that had not been declared to me. while these can and most have been fixed at an increased costs to me, the most critical part is that still almost 3 months after the sale i am still unable to obtain a plate for this clean title vehicle as i have no title from the dealer to do so.i have texted about the missing items and asked they search for them and ive asked for the title. my calls and texts are ignored. today i have called again and been hung up on trying to obtain this title. ******* DMV have no record of the title even being looked at never mind transferred.i have the paperwork for the sale, i have the texts of the exchange with the sales guy, the company have records of my calls recorded which i was not prior informed of. they also failed to adequately sign all paperwork . agreement attached.i need this resolved some way and give the opportunity to the dealer to make this right prior to starting legal proceedings.Business Response

Good afternoon,
The vehicle is a damage vehicle, you can see in the pictures posted for sale in our website, so it will carry some issues. It required some fixing to do in order to being able to be driven. Attached are the pictures posted.
Indeed we haven't been able to provide the title to the customer. The vehicle is a clean title, the issue we had is that the title was lost on the way to the dealer, and we had to order a duplicate which should take two weeks because it was expedited, but still we have to wait for the state and sometimes they take longer. We are aware of this, so we call every couple of days but we keep getting the same answer, the state is working on it.
The title will be provided to the customer as a clean title as soon as we the duplicate with us.
We are really sorry with the customer, we have been answering emails and phones calls received from him. Still working on it.

I am rejecting this response because:We have now past 90 days and i still have no title, on background checking the vehicle i see no movement has been done to obtain said title. how then could it be lost on way to dealer??
i am well aware of the damage to the vehicle and im also aware of the recorded conversation we had and the text messages on my cell confirming condition, presence of named components. i did not expect to be provided a parts car with multiple critical components removed or replaced with faulty components.
it is clear this vehicle was used to part out for other vehicles and the shell sold as a clean title/salvage vehicle.
Sincerely,
