On December 20, 2023, I received a call from ************************* with Financial Enhancement Services saying that she was an advisor from the ********** of ********* and she wanted to help me with my student loans. She told me that she could help with my loans and that I needed to pay ****** by December 31, 2024, and then ****** a month until May 2024, and that all payments I made would be credited to my student loan account with aidvantage. I repeatedly asked her if she was from the ********** of ********* and she assured me she was. The last payment I made was on January 19, 2024. I logged into my aidvantage account and found out that none of the ****** I paid, had been credited to my aidvantage account. I sent a email to Financial Enhancement Services on February 19, 2024 requesting that they close my account with them, and do not draft anymore money out of my bank account, additionally I asked them to immediately refund the ****** I have already paid because what they told me was not true and was misleading, I also told them if I did not hear anything back from them that I would be filing a complaint against them with the Better Business Bureau, I have not heard anything back from them as of today February 27, 2024. Thank youCustomer Answer

On November 30, I was called by this company, and they pretended to be with the department of education claiming that I have been approved for the Save Plan, which I already applied for. So naturally I thought they were helping because they are from the department of education. They were pretending to be sending me verification codes when in fact they were fraudulently logging into my FAFSA account. They used multiple methods to pretend to be the department of education. ************************* manipulated me into believing him, he said that I will only have to pay $1200, and my student loan will be forgiven. He said that he will send/email the official papers that state my student loan is forgiven. I only have the contract that I make $150 a month from November to June 2024. I emailed them one day after to cancel, they never replied. So far, I only made two payments, I called my bank to cancel my credit card. I waited for them to reply to me, but its been two months. I called them Jan 30, and left a voice mail. I just want this ordeal to be over. Please cancel and give me back my $300. It appears all they did was put my loans in forbearance.Initial Complaint

They were pretending to be sending me verification codes. They were actually when in fact fraudulently logging into student aid account. They used multiple methods to pretend to be the department of education including telling me to log in and telling me what I would see. This company is trying to scam $500 from me to manage my student loans. They are now emailing me to remit payment.Business Response
Date: 01/12/2024
Hello, *****!
Hope all is well. We do charge for our services, and when a contract/agreement is signed by our clients, it usually states the payment dates and amounts that they themselves, agree to. In addition to the contract, we also have compliance, and quality assurance calls, in order to have full transparency to avoid any sort of miscommunication/misunderstanding. Just because we charge for our services, it does not automatically consider us a scam. This complaint is a bit unjust in our opinion, and it is hurting our reputation even more, going along with other complaints of simple misunderstandings that could have been easily resolved with a phone call, with an email thread to confirm that conversation, as we do per company policy. Our services are very similar to bookkeeping/tax preparation, credit repair, lawyers, the lawn care company and so on. They are similar in the sense that all of those services can be done on your own, at no cost or, you can hire and pay someone/professional do it for you.
We understand that there are a lot of information about scams in our industry, and in fact there is. However, we are part of the small percentage of companies that actually operate within the stated law and have integrity. We are sorry for any unsatisfactory experience with us, if there is anything we can ever do to better assist you, please never hesitate to give us a call listed on our website.
Thank you, have a great evening.

Hello, ****
We are very displeased to hear this type of feedback/complaint. This is definitely not in our protocols and not how we operate as a business. What we can do, is assure you that we have already handled this situation accordingly, to avoid this type of experience reoccurring moving forward with any future client. We take a lot of pride in what we do, and we are very transparent about it. We abide by all common laws carried throughout the entire nation and have agreements that disclose exactly who we are and what we do. We have disclaimers all over our website as well. We do not hide a pinch of who we are, and it is indeed, extremely frustrating to hear this.
Also, I would like to mention to you that your process with us has already been cancelled and you have been refunded the initial payment of $100 (please see email for confirmation and transaction details). We apologize on our behalf once again, this is not a common situation for us to deal with, or hear back from our client. For that same reason, we took the measures that we did and got this resolved on our end. If there is anything else that we can do, please let us know. You may contact us directly, and we would be more than glad to speak with you.
Enjoy the holidaysInitial Complaint

Yesterday I left a complaint about Financial Enhancement. I received a call today from a company representative that explained the situation re: Student Loans and how they are categorized. Many thanks to "***," for taking the time to help me better understand how FES and Aidvantage work together to help resolve student loan issues.Business Response
Date: 12/20/2023
Thank you ******, we greatly appreciate you reaching back out and providing feedback on the outcome with us. We are grateful for your trust and we look forward to continue working with you and build our relationship for the years to come.
Happy Holidays!

First, many thanks for your quick response to my complaint. Second, forgive my late and continued response. I have been sick.
Thanks for reaching out to ***. Their response, as expected is fraudulent. I was NOT satisfied and I did NOT reach out with thanks for their services. FES, located in *******, which I now know is a big hint about fraudulent companies, took my money, ($1700, with the promise if sending me paperwork that let me know that my student loans were satisfied. When I called after the final payment, their phone numbers were all disconnected.
DO NOT ACCEPT A FIRST NAME ONLY AS YOUR LOAN SERVICER REPRESENTATIVE. YOU WILL LOSE YOUR MONEY AS I DD.

All phone contact with Financial Enhancement Services has been disconnected. The phone rings on my end. No one answers. Yet, when they saw my message on your site, they "reached out," with another fraudulent message. I did not/do not trust or appreciate FES, am not providing positive feedback about FES or "***," (beware of a foreign accent) and will NOT do business with them in the future." This is a warning to anyone repaying student loans. HANG UP THE PHONE and call your servicer.
I would like my money returned because the promise to send paperwork forgiving my student loans was not delivered as promised by ******* ******** we are ready to send your paperwork but we need you to take down your complaint and call your bank regarding two of your payments that are on hold." I wish I had trusted my bank. Instead, I received word by mail from my student loan servicer and they responded to my message that they DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH FES.
I trusted FES and they, in turn stole $1700 from me. Please return my funds FES.

Good evening, *************
This is very difficult to read and digesting the accusations you are making about our company. We have been as professional as possible with you, during your entire experience with us. You initially filed a complaint about us, about a misunderstanding, we responded, we called you and clarified your concerns. Shortly after, you responded here and mentioned on how your representative spoke with you and got everything addressed, and provided thanks to ***. We also do not understand, how us replying to your complaint, is fraudulent (when really, companies that are truly fraud/scammers, don't typically respond, nor do they really have any sort of online presence. We actually even have this whole scam/fraud topics on our website and have the link to FSA/student aids website, pointing visitors to the DOEs site, and letting them know this can be done for free.
Now we are receiving another complaint from your end, and this complaint seems a bit unjust. There are a few accusations you are stating that are not accurate. We do not appreciate this type of maligning, and sending warnings to other, when the things that are mentioned are not true. We take these complaints very serious, as the livelihood of very hard working people, in which most have families to feed, is all at stake. When in the end, we were here to assist you with your student loans, take the burden off your back, and provide you with peace of mind; in knowing that you do not have to worry about your student loans, because you have an extremely experienced, diversified and honest team/company, working for you.
To clarify some of your things mentioned in your statement.
1. We never "TOOK" your money.
2. It was NOT, $1,700
3. We have the signed contract, that clearly displays the three(3) payment dates with amounts, that you yourself agreed to
4. You breached our legal binding contract, by filing a dispute with your bank, before even calling us to handle this situation/your concerns accordingly (and at least give us the benefit of the doubt and allow us to cancel, and refund you your money.
5. We checked our call logs for our customer service department, and using the number ending in ****, we do not see one incoming call (unless you attempted to call us from a different number
6. You received your all of your funds back already, a while ago actually, when you filed the dispute. We did not rebuttal/respond to it and let things be so you can keep your money.
We have provided screen shots of these documents for transparency. And for those who come next to read these complaints, can get a better understanding of this occurrence. All in all, we are still disappointed with this situation and it does make us unease. We really do work hard on being the leading example in our industry and provide white glove experience from beginning to end. We apologize for this experience and we do hope everything gets sorted with your student loans.
have a great weekend and God bless.Customer Answer

1) Date of Transaction: 4/19/2023 and 5/19/2023 2) Amount withdrew $225 twice, 4/19/2023 & 5/19/2023 3) FES called me and *********************** introduced himself by name only, and he told me I was eligible for the ************** Loan Forgiveness program. (which I am already in the program prior to this call) ***** said I had to complete Consolidating my student loans in order to proceed forward in the program. ***** said my prior payments already made would count towards that 120 payment commitment, once calculated. 4) Nature of Dispute: FES did apply the $225 payment to my direct student loan as promised, I checked my account neither payment has been posted to my direct account. I believed I was working with the **** of **************** I reviewed further the documents FES sent me via email, and I found that FES is not related with the **** of ********* and/or the ************************* I discovered this message in the email "Form was to be used to enroll me in the **** program", which does not make sense since I am already in the program. Pkg labeled as DOE Consolidation + IDR This is confusing indeed. *** had me provide them a code sent to me via email from my actual FAFSA acct., and I was told *** sent me the email as a Verification. *** has now stolen my Personal Info from my FAFSA account. *** wanted a copy of my 1040/paystubs,FES are FAKE Loan Forgiveness program, deceptive in their tactics.5) The business has not yet resolve the problem as I chose not to work with ********. I chose to resolve this legit by working with my own bank and Dispute the transactions as a Fraudulent. *** also submitted payment as a Debit vs. MasterCard and I specifically told them to use as a credit card transaction.6) Date of contact FES called me on 4/18/2023, transaction posted on 4/19/2023 as a Debit.
