  I was charged $350 above the rental price. The charges were for toll and no insurance. I paid for all the tolls and I had ************* and yet! They still charged me. They robbed me. Stay away.

  We booked a package through Priceline and therefore, used NU/Horsepower Car rental. They seemed reputable based on Priceline so I went ahead and booked it. We arrived at the *************, had a very long walk to the ***** Mover-rail to get to the rental car station. It was there, however, we discovered NU-Horsepower is NOT at the airport. We waited up to 30 minutes for their "shuttle" to come pick us up. Turns out it's a side street, somewhat sketchy, where we had to get the car. From there, the office person tells us we'll need insurance b/c our personal car insurance would not cover in **. We also had to purchase a "sun pass" b/c of the toll roads. We spent almost $250-300 for this car and never expected this. A couple in front of us in line had the same issues.My husband made sure to document every scratch, etc he could find, until the attendant became upset with him. We were not happy.The gas stations around 26th street also have $5+ per gallon gas, so don't stop there to fill up. We found gas half that price nearby. It was pretty frustrating for all who used this place as we had heard other stories from customers while we were there. Oh and they also told us they needed to take a $500 deposit while we had the car in our possession but they'd drop that charge after it was back. Never expected that either.

  N, under the cover of Horspower car rental, forced me to pay $25 supplemental insurance because the mailing address of my policy is in another state. Then, they tried to charge me $1000 deductible for a small scratch in the bumper, although they told me they didn't accept my insurance. They also forced another couple in the office to take the fee for tolls, telling them that it was not optional. Stay away from this business.

  This company (also known as nu car rental) is a scam. Rented through Hotwire for $69.94 for 4 days. After arriving, my new rate quickly changed to an additional $186.92. I was asked if I had full coverage insurance and told the lady yes, and she asked who it was through and I told her, and she said I need you to email us the dec page, which I did. She then reviewed it and said it wasnt accepted by them, and would have to buy their insurance, which is less coverage than my full coverage policy covers. We then were advised we had to pay toll fees for every day at a set rate. On top of it all, she then advised that they would also need to place a hold on my card at an amount anywhere from $275-$2000! But she would try and get it as low as possible.$500! Unfortunately, we had somewhere to be at a set time and didnt have time an hour to waste to get back to the airport and find another car. So we drove away in a ****** Sentra with a couple million dollars in insurance coverage! One positive note I guess, the gentlemen that reviews the car for scratches and dings was a really nice guy! Very friendly and polite! I advise to stay away,
