    Summary of Complaint On August 11, 2025, a technician from Alfresco Air serviced my central air conditioning system. At the time of his arrival, the system was functioning correctly and refrigerant pressures were normal, as confirmed by their own technician, *****, during the service visit.Shortly after the technician completed his work, the ** unit stopped cooling. I contacted another technician, who found that refrigerant levels were low. Adding refrigerant immediately restored cooling, confirming that the loss of refrigerant was the cause of the failure. This loss occurred directly after the service, which had no reported leaks beforehand.Despite the fact that their service appeared to cause the failure, Alfresco Air charged me over $300 to repair the problem effectively holding my cooling system hostage until I paid. This conduct is both unethical and potentially illegal.Details and ************************ Pressures normal; cooling without issue (confirmed by technician ********************* Unit stopped cooling within hours.Diagnosis: Low refrigerant. Addition of refrigerant restored full function.Concern: The loss of refrigerant appears to have occurred during or as a result of the service. This raises concern about improper handling of refrigerant, negligence, or intentional damage to create a need for costly repairs or replacement.Charging me over $300 to fix a problem they likely caused is an unfair business practice and fits the definition of holding the unit hostage for payment.Requested Action I request that the **** investigate Alfresco Air for:Potential negligent or intentional release of refrigerant during service.Unethical business practices, including possible attempts to induce unnecessary replacements.Charging for the repair of damage caused by their own service.Violation of ************ licensing and refrigerant handling regulations.

    This is a true scam company, they take your credit card and they assure you that they will not charge your card without authorization. I wanted to replace my fan motor (I knew exactly what needed to be done with my ac and wanted to get an estimate for the work). They said that technician need to come to my apartment and and they will be able to give an estimate. If only maintenance needs to be done, they will charge me $145. Technician came, I opened cover, he looked at the motor, called the office, gave me a ridiculously high estimate of $1200 (motor itself cost less than $300 and labor to replace it is less than 1 hour). I said there's no way I'm going to proceed with this price (other companies gave estimates of in range of $800). *** tried to do vacuuming, I stopped them, knowing that they may charge me for the maintenance. They left, technician is calling me few minutes later, asking the size of my filter?? It was odd, but I gave him the size of the filter. Day later I see the charge of $175 on my credit card. I call them and asking what's going on, ***?? (very rude, agressive disrespectful guy, typical scammer) starts bullying and said that they charge $145 just for the technician to show up and $30 for the parking!!! Although I told him that I KNEW what the issue is and I wanted just ESTIMATE and NO maintenance was done. He strated arguing aggressively and didn't know what to answer and hang up. It's a pure SCAM company.

    I am writing in response to ****** ********** claim regarding this service call performed by Alfresco Air. We appreciate the opportunity to address his concerns and clarify the situation.  First and foremost, we want to emphasize that our company operates with transparency and integrity in all interactions with our customers. We communicated the service call fee of $145 upfront, which is standard practice in our industry. Additionally, the $30 charge for parking fees was necessary to access *** ********** property, a cost that cannot be absorbed by our business. It's important to note that our technicians cannot diagnose equipment issues remotely, which is why an on-site assessment was necessary. *** ******** willingly provided his credit card and billing information in anticipation of this service. Regarding *** ********** claim that our technicians attempted maintenance without consent, we take such allegations seriously. Our team adheres to the highest standards of professionalism and integrity, and any misunderstanding in this regard is regrettable. However, it's crucial to clarify that *** ******** himself stopped our technicians from conducting any work. He did so after our technician completed the assessment of *** ********** HVAC Unit.  Furthermore, the characterization of our company as a "scam" is baseless and damaging to our reputation. We have proudly served our customers for 17 years, building a reputation for honesty and reliability. While misunderstandings can occur, resorting to inflammatory language undermines productive communication. We also want to address *** ********** insinuation regarding cultural and linguistic diversity within our company. We celebrate the multicultural makeup of our team and customer base, and any suggestion otherwise is unfounded and contrary to our core values of inclusivity and respect. In conclusion, we remain committed to resolving any outstanding issues with our customers and providing exceptional service. These were services rendered.
