    Quality issues and company does not support products. Ive been attempting to help my elderly neighbor resolve an issue with a Klimaire mini split. While trying to open the indoor unit cover for regular filter cleaning-we snapped the pin hinges that actually hold the cover to the rest of the indoor unit. Weve had to secure this cover with tape to even get the unit to work. It took some effort to get some assistance from the company to order a replacement cover. Ive been attempting to get this part for over almost a year-finally being able to place a real order 6 months ago. A 2 week turnaround has turned into a 6 month wait with no end in sight. Currently, the recommendation from the company has been for me to cancel my order as its too challenging to get this replacement part. My belief is that Klimaire makes nothing -sourcing these parts offshore. While the unit is functioning-its not fair to ask an elderly customer to have to retape an awkward large piece of plastic once a month to clean to the filter-while up on a ladder. I will also note that there was a major issue with ice forming on the indoor unit that was resolved by a technician. Not a reliable piece of equipment on my opinion.
