On June 13, 2025, our commercial trailer was immobilized (booted) by R & R Towing & Parking Mgmt LLC at 1503 W Jefferson St, Quincy, Gadsden County, FL.

The company’s representative arrived in an unmarked personal vehicle, had no uniform or company ID, refused to show identification, and demanded $600 in cash or via Zelle, refusing to accept credit card payment. The trailer was booted without warning while the driver was inside the cab at 4:30 AM. The only sign was poorly visible in darkness.

Payment was made under duress to release our commercial equipment. The company has not responded to multiple formal notices sent by email and certified mail.

We have already filed a complaint with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS Case Number: ****-04663) and the Florida Attorney General’s Office. We are seeking a refund and accountability for these unlawful practices.

    Business Response

    Date: 09/08/2025

On June 13, 2025 a red semi truck # 890 from ******** **** LLC was observed parked on private property located at 1503 W Jefferson St, Quincy FL. There are several large signs posted on the side of the building and at every entrance leading into the property. All employees for R&R to including the one on site at the above date has on a uniform which includes a R&R shirt with their name on it and khaki pants. Employees are informed not to show their personal identification because it has their personal information on it. Unfortunately we do not accept credit cards but we do notify everyone that we do accept certified checks, Zelle and a last resort cash. We rather accept certified checks because we do not want employees walking around with excess cash on them. The driver requested to pay by Zelle. A yellow warning sticker was placed on the driver's side window and an attempt to contact ******** **** was made several times without an answer so the semi truck was immobilized. We never received any emails or mail from ******** **** at any time. Pictures of the signs are attached.

I am rejecting this response because:

The company is providing false and misleading information.
Phone calls – They claim they called several times, but I have proof there were no missed calls. Attached is a screenshot of my call history for that day. If the company insists otherwise, they should provide proof of such calls.
Mail – I sent two certified letters (Second Notice and Final Notice). Both were returned marked “Unclaimed/Not Accepted.” Attached are USPS receipts and the returned letters.
Emails – I also sent an email, but the company never responded. A copy of the sent email is attached.
Employee conduct – The worker who immobilized the truck arrived in a regular passenger vehicle with no company markings. When asked to show company ID, he refused. When asked to show even a driver’s license, he again refused. This is a violation. A company that breaks the law and refuses to properly identify its staff cannot demand money from consumers.
Extortion – The driver was inside the truck when the wheel was immobilized. Employees first locked the wheel, then woke the driver, and demanded $600 for release. When the driver asked why he was not warned beforehand (so he could have left immediately), the employee replied: “If we warn everyone, how will we make money?” This clearly proves they made no attempt to notify the driver or the company before immobilization, acting purely for profit.
Parking circumstances – This happened around 3:00 a.m., in complete darkness. After unloading at the receiver, the security guard forced the truck to leave the property and directed the driver to park across the road at a store lot. That is where the driver went. At the entrance, the “No Parking” sign was mounted very low and on the right-hand side, making it invisible to the driver while turning right in the dark. It is highly suspicious that the guard directed the driver specifically to a lot where parking was prohibited. This shows the driver had no intent to violate, but the company exploited the situation.
    In summary:
The company is misleading the BBB and deliberately concealing facts.
They claim they “called” – yet I have proof they did not.
They claim they “never received mail or email” – yet I have proof they did.
They claim the employee “had ID” – but when requested, both ID and driver’s license were refused. If employees are “not allowed to show ID,” then what is the point of having it, especially when the worker arrived in an unmarked personal vehicle?
This clearly shows the company is providing false statements, violating consumer rights, and has no legal or ethical basis to demand money.
    Attached as evidence:
    Screenshot of call history.
Two certified letters returned “Unclaimed/Not Accepted.”
    Copy of the sent email.
Photo of the worker and his unmarked vehicle.

    Sincerely,

    Roman *******
