I was behind on paying Dec. rent at Midgard, and they informed me that my storage would be auctioned in Jan. if I didn't pay. They told me a $100 foreclosure fee would be added on the 1st of Jan., if payment was not made, but they added it Dec. 30th, 2 days early. We received harassing phone calls every day about the amount due, and the amount just kept increasing! Now they're about to auction our things if I can't pay by 5:00pm today (01/18/2023.) PLEASE HELP ME. Everything I own is in that storage, and they have made saving it unbearablely impossible!

I had a unit for several years at a very manageable cost. Unfortunately Midgard bought them out (no notice to customers until payment was due & I was informed of a hike in cost). I had previously had a unit with Midgard but left because of frequent increases in cost and no change to any services. I decided to stick around regardless of my previous distaste for the company. I finally decided I could no longer afford to pay double the original cost of the unit. I filed a 30 day vacate notice. Upon arriving to remove some things I had to have my entry code reset. I planned to come back in a few days to remove remaining items. Upon my return days later my entry code was again not working. I was informed that since I hadn't returned days prior that they took the liberty of tossing my remaining items in a dumpster and cleared me from the system even though I still had two weeks before my 30 days notice was up. Unbelievable and ILLEGAL.

I rented a storage unit on a month by month basis beginning mid October 2022. At the end of October, I indicated that I would only need the storage unit through November. Further, I told them that I would visit the office when I vacated the unit in November so that they could rent it to somebody else.I return to the office on November 16 to tell them that I had moved out and would not need the unit for the balance of the month. They mistakenly thought that that was my notification date and have charged me for the entire month of December. They charged my credit card without my authorization. I never agreed to auto pay. They refused to consider my earlier move out date. The employee who I spoke with in October had only been with the company for one month. It is highly conceivable that he was not trained on how to put notes into the system. I want my December 2022 rent return to me. I live in ***** and have not needed the unit for almost 2 months.
