            On March 1, 2023, we signed a contract for re-roofing (new roof system) to tear off tile roof and install shingle roof. An initial deposit was made in the amount of $9,000 and was cashed and another payment was made of $2000 and was cashed. After many attempts of requesting the contractor to pull the building permit, the permit was pulled on June 20, 2023. Then many attempts contacting the contact person for the contractor by phone, email, text to start the work and the work was finally started removing about 1/3 of the roof tiles on July 27, 2023. As of today, still about 1/3 or more old roof tiles are still on our roof. We have now have about 15 leaks inside our home on the ceilings and window frame. I have videos and pictures. We advised the contactor contact person of the leaks each day it happened. Only one time, August 11, 2023, 4 workers came to our home to work on the roof and very little was done. And that evening, our roof leaked in our home from the rain that evening.We demanded, by letter, for the company to perform the work and complete it correctly or refund our deposit. In speaking with Sarasota County Licensing Coordinator, per the ************* statue, if we gave more than a 10% deposit, the permit was to be pulled within 30 days and the work must have been started within the 90-day period. They surpassed the 30 day before getting the building permit and surpassed the 90-day **** to start the work. As of today, they still have not worked on our roof on a daily basis to complete it and we have given countless reasons why they cant show up and work or have a crew working on our roof. It has been since March 1, 2023 and the re-roof to our home is not complete. Please note: The inside of our home now has many leaks (water stains and/or damaged wood) due to the roof not being complete and properly.We again are giving a letter to demand the company to perform the work and complete it in a standard re-roof timeframe, correctly or refund our deposit. We need our roof done correctly now.

            *****************************, operating as a roofer, under the lic. of Malphus and Son, GC. Signed a contract with the board of our 3 unit condo in ****************** to redo the flat roof area of our building. A check for $8,000 was given as a deposit and cashed. After a string of excuses including a wife suddenly ill with ***** and his father's death in ******, requiring his attendance, etc., etc., the work was never done and deposit never returned. The few times he showed up and pretended to do some minor things on the roof, he only started leaks. DO NOT hire this person to do any kind of work!
