    On 08/16/24 I went in for my annual ***** appointment. The wait was longer than usual. Once I was in a room, the technician asked if I was there for my routine ***** treatment. I said yes and asked her to refresh my memory since I could not recall what was done or the cost. The technician said I received injections in the forehead and eyes, 14 units total. I then asked the technician how much each unit costed since the price would usually increase by a few cents from one visit to the next. She advised me each unit was $13.00 I asked if my math was correct, I estimated it to be under $200.00 and the technician confirmed the total would be $182.00. (I have a personal budget of $200 for ***** per visit. It should also be noted I have never spent more than $200.00 in one visit at Suncoast Skin)****** the **** finally came in and quickly gave me one injection near each eye. She was getting ready to leave the room when I asked ****** if we were following the same ***** treatment as last time. ****** asked what was done last time.This was concerning because I would expect her to review the treatment plan before injecting patients. The technician reminded ****** I was to receive forehead injections as well. ****** came back with more ***** and completed the injections in the forehead.The whole thing felt rushed considering the length of time I waited for a room and then for anyone to speak with me about the treatment plan or cost. When I got to the front to pay, the receptionist reiterated the total for the visit was $182.00. This is the exact amount that was charged to my credit card that day. I can provide my statement if needed.A few weeks later I receive a bill in the mail for $234.00 when I've tried to get answers from Suncoast I would only receive cryptic voicemails telling me it's a valid balance. No one ever calls to explain whether they lost the $182.00 that was already paid. Why would I be charged so much more than what was agreed upon? This bill is an error.

    The complaint I am filing on behalf of my wife as it was my wife *************************** who had this issue with Suncoast Skin Solutions at the location of ***************************************************************************************. Their phone number is ************. My wife went to that location on 12/20/2022 for a visit as this is a 6 month follow up from when she went there in June of 2022. She went to the appointment only for the receptionist and the office manager stating she had a balance of $38.72 and that if she does not pay that during that visit, They would deny her services for her appointment that day. They also said this balance was in collections in which they never mailed us a bill for that expense. She then called me, *********************************** as I am the policy holder for our insurance who is with ***** and she told me that this is what they are saying and I told them since they are in-network with *****, they can't deny your appointment if you don't pay that amount but the receptionist and the office manager refused to talk to me on the phone and said they would not argue this. So I told my wife to pay that amount of $38.72 and I then called ***** who is our insurance and I talked to a ******* and it turns out that the $38.72 balance was from a visit ******* had back in June of this year where before she left they charged her $243.49 on 6/28/2022 which was a date of service. The ***************** informed me that the total patient responsibility for that visit was $282.21 but we had paid $243.49 and the difference was $38.72. Ever since that visit, we never got a bill from Suncoast for the amount of $38.72. Also during my phone call with ******* from Aetna is that they are in-network with Suncoast Skin Solutions and they violated their contract with Aetna by charging us before billing the ***************** as well as denying services unless she paid the balance. This is unacceptable and this needs to be known they are not allowed to do this.
