We hired Tree Trimming by Kevin S***** in December, 2022 to trim 4 trees. We were told it was too early to trim the crepe myrtle so it would be trimmed in April. We agree and paid $1200.00. When the tree was not trimmed in April we called twice to see when it would be handled. We were told on both occasions that the tree would be trimmed on one of two days. When the tree was still not trimmed we called to cancel the order and asked for a refund. A reimbursement check for $25.00 was sent. We then called to say that we were very disappointed and that our trust was apparently misplaced and that this was an inadequate amount and again asked that the tree be trimmed or an appropriate refund be sent. When Lorraine S***** said she would ask Kevin to stop by, we said we would return the check when the tree was trimmed. The tree is still not trimmed. All calls made to either phone number always go to voice mail. We would like a reimburse of $300.00 - for 1 of the 4 trees we paid for in December.

    Business Response

    Date: 01/12/2024

In response to this complaint, we charged the customer ********************* $400.00 per tree for heavy trimming and demossing on ****** and a river birch. We never trim crepe myrtles in the winter months. and only charge between $75.00 to $130.00 per tree or shrub. I had spoken to *** and told him he would have to call to be scheduled in early April to get on the schedule, on the day this job was bid. Trimming crepe myrtles in possible freeze months can burn the tops and do severe damage to them. We never take payment in advance for any services we did not complete that day. We have been in business for 20 years and Have thousands of satisfied customers. We sent them a check for 25 dollars for any miss understanding. They never called to schedule the trimming or for a price.

    Thank you!

I am sorry for the delay but I was out of the country and ill.

Mr. Saxton is incorrect.  His wife told me the $25.00 was a refund for the "crepe ******* which she understood to be a shrub, not a tree.

As far as calling to schedule an April trimming, we did call on several occasions and finally cancelled after he failed to show up for two appointments.

As we had used his services for years, this was very disappointing.  And his lack of accepting any blame for the incident is disheartening.
