Bad communication and ***************** This company gave me a quote of anround $3600 to move my home items from ************** to *******. On the date of the move the quote was adjusted to more than double the price but my family was desperate to start making new arrangements so we accepted. Our items never made it to our new home and only about 30% were delivered. The driver told us he does not know the whereabouts of the other items and it has been over 3 weeks now. The customer service is extremely rude and no information has been given to us to where the items could be. Unfortunately for us my mums medication and other health related items were included and she had to go to urgent care as a result of a health scare. The size of the move almost doubled upon our arrival. it is responsibility of a customer to let us know the inventory and be transparent about everything that is going on the truck. We charge by the size of the move!! The driver does not know the detail of the move. They are given a daily assignment and that all they know. The customer been calling the office multiple times a day and always was given an answer that is available to us at the time of his call. As afar as medications, we strongly advise everyone not to put medications and any other essential items on the truck, such as valuables, important documents, passports, ashes of loved ones, etc.

I am rejecting this response because:
The business was not transparent with the information needed to get an adequate quote and the initial assessment. They give you an inaccurate quote to get you hooked and latter increase the quote. I was given a verbal agreement that the items will be delivered the very next day. The business reassured me on this and the driver did as well. I had a very heavy safe on my items that might have pushed the movers to think I had money or other valuables inside. I have been calling this business multiple times a day because they never give me clear answers and I was hung up on multiple times. **************** is very rude and when I asked in multiple occasions to speak to supervisor I was told they were not available. This business over promised me on their services and I was misled. Until date, I do not know where my items including my safe and mums medications are. This company is extremely unreliable and unprofessional. Their integrity is close to zero and anyone who decides to do business with these fellows must be ready for the full package. It is more than 3 weeks today and Ive not heard anything from them. Can you imagine?

..."Generally estimated delivery is up to 21 business days from date indicated as first available for delivery. May 20th, Alliance Movers sent 2 men to pick up my items for transportation to **********. In 'picofcontainer.jpeg' and 'picofcontainerZOOM.jpeg' you can see a ******** Switch (gaming console valued $350, with games inside, extra $). On that day, somebody logged into that ******** Switch after pick up of my items, meaning someone went through my items and stole the ********. In the following week during 'transit' - 2 fraudulent purchases were made on the ******** using the saved credit card on file, my debit card. Finally, on Sunday the 2nd my shipment was delivered in **********, and the ******** Switch was missing from the container.******** has verified the fraudulent action and is working with the police via subpoena to provide all necessary information for criminal charges. I am filing this complaint against the company for allowing the theft, as this is a MOVING company, trusted with peoples' expensive and personal items, that allows theft of said items. I have no idea what else was taken, and I expect I am not the first or last victim of this company. This company can never be allowed to operate in this space again.Business Response

We took this complaint very seriously and conducted our internal investigation and we could not come up with any evidence to support this sort of accusation.

I am rejecting this response because:I have an open case with detective ************************* of the Boca sheriff's department - they have subpoenaed the relevant information from ********* getting the account information for the employee of the business. Next step is getting the exact address of the thief, which is already subpoenaed from their internet provider. Once they have the requisite address, they will reach out to the moving company and approach them. The moving company was provided all the relevant information to figure out who stole the item(s), and is perfectly willing to protect the thief. This is embarrassing for a company supposedly based on trust, and I look forward to seeing this case to fruition. If the company intends to change their tone and be forward with the information, I would be open to some form of discussion. This claim will remain open to its completion, and the name of both the criminal, and this company, will be taken for the ride.

We hired Alliance movers to facilitate our family move from **********, AL to *********, **. We were quoted $5,093 for the move based on detailed conversations with Alliance reps about the size of our hoe and items to move. Agreement move date was Tues, 6/4. Alliance moving crew did not arrive to begin loading items until Wed. 6/5 at 11:30am. ******************* stated he had to 'inspect' items to be moved and afterwards stated the actual cost of the move would be approx $10,000. When speaking to Alliance reps about the cost doubling the company attempted to place blame on us as customers alleging we had more items than agreed upon. Fortunately we did not have to be out of the home until the next week and were able to schedule a different moving company for the move as a set price FAR below $10,000 that Alliance was trying to extort from us. We have requested by phone and in writing a refund of the $490 deposit we paid Alliance; 48 hrs have passed since submitting our request and `no one from Alliance has contacted us. This company engages in unfair, deceptive bait & switch pricing tactics in an attempt to take advantage of consumers in the middle of navigating a move of their primary residence. We are seeking assistance in the return of our $490; as well, as to hold this company accountable so they cannot continue to attempt to take advantage of consumers.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: while it may be warranted to adjust the quoted price for a move if upon arrival the number of items has increased I had multiple conversations with an Alliance representative about the items to be moved prior to arrival of the moving crew.In our situation the cost originally quoted was double the initial quote showing lack of what should be adequate business practices by a professional moving company. I have attached documentation evidencing additional complaint filed with the ********** of ************** which lists within its complaint portal categories of complaints overcharging upon arrival or delivery of goods to be moved by an egregious amount which was the attempt by this company.
This is an unfair, deceptive, and abusive practice by this moving company and while not regulated by UDAAP laws, expansion of UDAAP applicability continues and should be considered here

The size of the move matter. We charge by the space your items take on the truck. The responsibility lies with the customer to provide detailed and accurate inventory of the items being loaded on the truck. Also some items cam be irregular size and can not be stacked. Or the can be damaged it the staked on top of each other. All this effects the final price. The original estimate is just an estimate if your ** exceed the original estimated size we will charge for the difference. You always have a choice to only load the ** that was originally quoted and then the price will not change.

I am rejecting this response because: as stated in my complaint the business did not arrive on the agreed upon date, did not provide adequate staff nor vehicles to facilitate the move as detailed in the estimate which was completed by Alliance Movers. The activities of this company do not align with that of other reputable moving companies. Alliance practices deceptive sales and pricing tactics to take advantage of consumers by artificially inflating the cost of the move upon moving day and when called out for this practice denies any responsibility and places blame on the consumer.I have filed additional complaints with the **** of ************** and the State of Florida ************************* Each office has responded with concerns related to the practices of this company and if the BBB is unable to assist consumers with the egregious practices designed to take advantage of consumers by Alliance I will continue efforts through those respective offices.

The customer knew the protocol of 2 day window for pick up.
Also was given the estimate based in the inventory he provided. Once the crew arrived they did a walk through and did a revised estimate based on the items that were to be loaded/take space on the truck (cubic feet). Customer did not like the revised estimated and decided not to use us. Completely understandable. But we did dispatched a crew and a truck to the customers location, we paid the the crew as well as fuel charges. Those are the reasons why we do not refund the deposit within 3 days of the scheduled pick up day. All that explained in the original estimate that was signed by the customer.

On April 18, 2024, I contacted Alliance Movers group to obtain a quote for moving from ********, ** to **********, **. I spoke with ***** over the phone and spent over 2 hours measuring everything I have that wouldn't fit into a box. He told me that ***** boxes is average for a 2 BR house move so i asked for 80 boxes. I was estimated $7900 for 1700 cu. feet on the moving truck. I told him I needed my delivery at my new address on June 1st or 2nd. He scheduled a pickup and full pack for May 29 or 30 of May. The company did come on the 30th and proceeded to pack up everything. I was informed then that everything we had might not fit on the truck, which is 2275 cu feet. I asked why there was such a variance in the actually space used vs the estimated quote and the driver said it was common for that to happen. This is bad enough, but the worst part is that I was never told that the delivery of my items would not take place on my quoted date but would be transferred back to a storage facility and would have to be later scheduled. I spoke to ***** at least on 3 different occasions after the deposit was paid on April 18th, on April 19th, April 29th and May 15th, verifying that my possessions would be delivered on either June 1st or 2nd and never was the option of a later delivery date proposed to me. I repeatedly told ***** that my fianc, ****, and I were trying to plan our physical move around the delivery of our possessions and that we were planning to move ourselves on June 1st or 2nd. I was never informed that the truck wasn't transporting our stuff directly after the truck was loaded. This company purposely underestimates the cost in order to secure customers and isn't transparent about the delivery date until after they have your possessions on their truck. We moved to **********, IN on June 2nd and we still have not received a delivery date and its now June 6th. We have nothing in our new house. no beds, no pots and pans to cook or eat with. I am rejecting this response because:Neither I, *************************, or my spouse, ***********************, signed any contract when this job was scheduled. Nothing was physically signed by us until May 31st, at which point, we were told our belongings were being delivered on June 2, 2024. Our primary issue with this company is that they were not transparent about their policies or their delivery schedule when we were searching for a company. If we were told up front that their delivery schedules are "live" and that it could take up to 21 days - 30 days to receive our possessions, then we would have easily selected another company to use but we gave them our business based off of what we were told at the time the estimate was given. Why would we want to wait 21 days with no bed, no clothes, nothing to cook or eat? I was more than transparent with ***** about when we needed our belongings delivered and never was the 21- day policy mentioned. I told ***** that my spouse and I are leaving the country on June 21st for a month, which overlaps with their 21- day delivery window and still, nothing was mentioned of their delivery schedule. This is an incredibly fraudulent and nefarious way of getting our business and now that they have all of our belongings in their possession is when we are faced with this 21 day estimated and up to 30 day delivery window. We have had countless expenses as a result of this and are sitting in an empty home with nothing.
The second grievance we have is that they raised the price from $7900 to $11371.54. We don't have a single item more than what we described to them in great detail over the phone. measured every single thing. Raising the price by 44% is an incredibly fruadulent practice. I could have undertsood 10% error but 44% ??? This company is a fraud and a scams customers. All other ********************* complaints state the same thing. This company is destroying people's livelihood and now that they have all of our belongings we have no choice when before we could have chosen plenty of other businesses to go with. This is an incredibly dishonest way to do business.
We demand that our belongings be delivered immediately and that the price be adjusted to the original estimate.

I hired this company to move me from ** to *******. First the quote you one price and when the arrived they increase the price by thousands. Then they blame an employer for giving the wrong quote. When my property was delivered to me in ********** some of my belongings were damaged. My glass coffee table, 2 glass end tables were broken. My entertainment center was damaged. Myself and the movers took pictures of the damages when the were setting up my belongs. My landlord was also there. I submitted a claim to the company and they offered me $179 dollars to pay for the damages. Which is ridiculous the glass tables were broken in half $179 wont pay for one of my tableBusiness Response

I hired this moving company to move my belongings from ** to OH. They seriously and purposefully misled me to believe that they would delivery my belongings by the date of my arrival in OH but, solely to save their own costs despite having the easy ability to deliver on time, refused to do so after I had paid them already. We do not EVER guarantee a delivery date before we pick up especially on INTERSTATE moves. *********************** signed the contract and the original estimated that clearly explains out policies and protocols.
DELIVERY SERVICES: All Long Distance deliveries are made on a flexible basis with an estimated arrival time up to 21 business days per customers first available delivery date (Ready Date). Unless noted on this Estimate Cost for Service, customer must be able and available to receive the goods starting the day after the goods were picked up. Any changes made by customer to their Ready Date may result in additional storage fees. The charge for storage handling is $0.75 per cubic foot per storage entry, the charge for storage rent is $0.50 per cubic foot per month. All estimated time of arrivals are subject to change depending on many industry factors such as traffic, weather conditions, unforeseen mechanical problems or unexpected delays with prior deliveries scheduled before you. Note: We will not discount any account due to any delays listed above. Our company will keep the customer informed verbally with a new / revised ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) depending on company schedule.
Furthermore GENERAL WAIVERS OF LIABILITY: Carrier hereby states and shipper acknowledges that carrier is not liable for the following items or conditions in a shipment, where allowed by law: pressed wood furniture, file cabinets and their contents when they have not been emptied by shipper, mechanical conditions of electronics, electrical or plumbing connections, any further damage to any item that is already broken or has otherwise lost the integrity of strength from existing damage at time of pick up. In addition, you are not able to give us to carry and we accept no liability whatsoever for firearms, jewelry, cash, bank notes, any financial instruments, hazardous materials, liquids.
Also according with our company General Agreement : THE MOVING COMPANY IS NOT RESPONCIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED TO CARPETS, WOOD FLOOR, TILE WALLS, GATES, MARBLES ETC.
*********************** had an opportunity to purchase moving insurance, and choose not to. He filed a claim with third party claim adjusters and we offered him c claim settlement which he declined.

Terrible Service! The Office staff (Specifically ****), promised the world and delivered nothing in return. They promised to shrink wrap and protect my furniture and didn't protect it. They wrapped packing tape around my wood furniture and it stripped the finished off. They scratched up several pieces of my furniture. They ruined an antique Hoosier Cabinet and Bible table. They treated my belongings like trash. They ruined my furniture and when I filed an insurance claim with them I got $324 for several thousand in damages, because they pay 60cents per pound no matter how much the item costs. The workers have no reason to treat your belongings with respect because there are no consequences. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!! I don't know how they get ****** to show them as a top mover. I wished i had checked here first. I paid over $4,900 to move my items to a storage unit about 1 1/2 hrs away. They kept trying to upcharge me during the entire process.Business Response

Alliance movers gave me a fair estimate to pick up and move my belongings from ***** to *******. They were very pushy to receive 70% payment upon pickup, per terms, which I paid. They gave me an initial delivery window that week and never contacted me. Then they walked back the date, saying they had up to 21 days or 30 days to deliver.They actually took my belongings to a storage facility in **************! Per the contracts terms I would have had to approve of any storage, and they would have had to give me the address and access. When I asked them for this they ignored me.My belongings were picked up by a driver and were sitting on a truck for days before delivery to me, finally arriving very damaged. Numerous boxes were ripped open and rifled through, pictures were smashed, a coffee table completely destroyed. My belongings look like they traveled through a war zone to get here. Ive reported this company to both the US and FL DoT and hope they respond to the claims process. Theyre in complete breach of contract and shouldnt be allowed to do business.Business Response

This time frame may change based on the time of year, weather conditions, road conditions, other acts of God, delivery schedule, geographic location of the move and other unknown factors. Business days do not include holidays or weekends.
We are very sorry that there was damage to Mrs.**** ****** In that case she can file a claim with a CAF - a claim processing company.
