I have always used McGill Plumbing and have been satisfied until this last time. They replaced a kitchen faucet and the hot and cold lines were reversed. I called them and was told this was the correct way to do it. I researched this issue and found that the International Standards said the hot line is on the left and the cold on the right due to safety issues and having visually impaired people not be hurt. I called them back and advised them and said I wanted to talk to the plumber and resolve this. It took 5 days of requesting a call back, which I never received. On day 5 when I called said they would send someone out this next day. I told them I wanted it done today or I would cancel the payment and also file a complaint with the BBB and contact the local TV station. I had a plumber within 2 hours. It was a 5 minute fix (which I knew it was a simple thing to do). I was surprised at the lack of communication since they have always been helpful and since it was a safety issue. I have always referred people to them but no longer. I was extremely disappointed and surprised at this very bad situation. I will not use them again or refer anyone to them.

There is no excuse for how this was handled. We pride ourselves on quality service, and after I have reviewed how this was handled, this is not quality service. So my apologies to this valued client. There was some confusion on our end and some miscommunication between our staff. What should have happened is a plumber should have been sent out the day of the initial call to investigate and remedy this simple situation. There has been a quality discussion on our end about how anything like this should be addressed in the future. We are not perfect, and we will use this as a learning opportunity. We are just thankful that no property damage or injury occurred as a result of the supply lines being put on backwards. If there is anything we can do to earn your trust once again, please reach out to me directly.

I had Mcgill plumbing replace a face plate, valve and spout on a bathtub. The job was completely for aesthetic purposes. There was no issue with the functionality of the parts replaced. The plumber that came is a very heavy man. We both could not fit into the tub area at the same time. He replaced the parts with parts from Mcgill instead of using the new parts I had. The spout that was replaced was metal, the spout from Mcgill is plastic. After he caulked the new parts he said not to use the bathtub for 12 hours. I could not see the area beneath the spout when he was in the bathroom setting on the edge of the bathtub showing me the water and parts worked properly. The next day I cleaned up the mess left, black boot marks on my tile and in the white bathtub, spilled caulk when I noticed a couple of chips in the cast iron. One chip had been repaired previously with some sort of patch. I thought Mcgill had done that repair. I have only used them and Clearwater plumbing in the past. So it must have been Clearwater who caused and patched. it. He knocked the patch off and chipped the tub in another spot to the right. The new spout also has scratches on it. Someone named ***** (not the owner) returned my call after I sent photographs and he indicated there is no way they caused this damage and they would not be repairing any damages. He said the plumber (he refused to give his name) said there is no way he caused any damage, really! ***** was clear from the beginning regardless of what happened they were not going to accept any responsibility to fix the damage. Dropping the old metal spout would have have chipped the tub. Again this job was simply to make the tub look better, now I am left with cheap scratched parts and chips in the bathtub. They are a very rude organization, will talk over you and twist your words. IF you choose to use this company document all the areas they may work in with photographs otherwise you are out of luck.

McGill Plumbing provided a full refund for all labor in a good faith gesture.. We did not refund for the materials, as the customer now owns them. Please note, another company is responsible for the damage and evidently may not have "patched" it correctly. We have always taken full responsibility for any issues that arise from our service. We have a track record of doing so in this area for over 50 years. The plumber that was on the job has an excellent service record, and in the event of any type of damage caused on a job, has always contacted our service department immediately so we could rectify the situation. Again, even though we do not accept responsibility for this, we are returning all labor charges and invite the customer to please contact a different plumber in the future.
