    Business Response

    Hi,
This customer has exhibited consistently rude behavior toward at least three members of my team, as well as each subcontractor who has been on site. Given the strained relationship, we were actually relieved when he expressed a desire to cancel the contract. I immediately offered to terminate the agreement on amicable terms.

Here are the facts of the project:

    The customer paid a deposit.

We filed for his permit within 48 hours of receiving that deposit.

The permit remains under city review. We do not pay for the permit until it is approved, so at this point, there has been no permit-related expense.

Despite the pending permit status, we proactively began demolition work due to the customers concerns about an active water issue in the bathroom. We removed walls and flooring to help prevent further water damage.

During this process, we discovered what MIGHT be significant mold damage. We promptly informed the customer and advised that licensed water/mold remediation professionals be consulted for testing and mitigation, as this is outside the scope of our services and license as a general contractor.

The customers dissatisfaction escalated when it became clear we could not remediate this issue at no cost and outside the contracted scope of work. His expectations shifted beyond what was agreed upon, and we were transparent that we could not fulfill those additional requests for free.

To be clear, we have followed all applicable laws and state protocols:

Permits must be filed within 30 days of a signed contractwe filed within 48 hours.

Work must begin within 90 days of permit approvalwe are still within this window and acted early to help the customer with an urgent issue.

If you require any documentation or further information from our team, were happy to provide it.

    Best,

    ***** *****, CBC1263757

His most recent submission appears to be an email dated May 24, 2025, where he claims were in breach of contract for not starting work on April 7, 2025.

The irony is he also provided proof of the signed contract to support his position, when the agreement doesnt even list any start date whatsoever. So, once again, just because he wants us to begin on a certain day doesnt mean were contractually obligated to do so.

We're bound by whats in the signed contract and state regulation, not by whatever story hes telling this week.

This is less about a breach of contract, and more about a grown man throwing a temper tantrum because he didnt get his way.

Per state regulation, we have 90 days from the contract signing to begin constructionand were well within that window. Florida Statute 489.126

Also, his original complaint says we actually started on 4/7/25, the same date he just complained that we didn't start on. He's contradicting himself. He's simply complaining to you guys because he's trying to cause harm, and trying to not pay the agreed upon fees that he originally agreed to in our signed contract (he provided proof of signed contract above).

He has also slandered us online, for which we've retained legal.

I am rejecting this response because:

Connect rebuilds did not show for work and continued lack of communication and keeping of funds and canceling city permit without authority. Causing futher loss of funds paid for for original permit and payment afterwards for completing permit and transfer to new contractor. Causing further loss and delay of work. Complaints and bad reviews completed to poor experience and lack of completing work and leaving work incomplete and over charging for it. Then cancelling paid permit and charging for it without authority. Agreeing to start work and then not showing or responding causing damage to personal business after committing to start of demo and clean up work. Contractor not responding for two weeks and not able to locate them. Contactor cancelled permit on May 20 without permission.

    Sincerely,

    ****** Buckle

We paid $44,000+ to this general contractor to complete our mobile home setup. We lost our home to hurricane *** 2 years ago. Since then, my 74yo ********** have been living in a 100sqft camper with 2 dogs. The new home was delivered 9/24/24 & we still cannot move into it bc things arent getting done: 1) hvac is partially installed after paying additional $8,000+2) ** quoted us for a Grandaire AC unit (~$3000) plus labor, ducting & electrical connections, etc. But, actually installed a much cheaper unit (Tuttokool ~$1500). They also failed to install the exterior disconnect & claimed they dont perform the hvac hookup to electric 3) weve paid for 2 stairs & skirting but ** refuses to send payment to subcontractor so they can order materials to begin building the stairs & purchase the skirting 4) We asked the ** to return $7000 that weve already paid so we can pay subcontractor directly to expedite stairs/skirting but ** refuses and, yet, ** provides no resolution 5) subcontracted plumber installed water supply that began leaking same day. He finally came back 2 weeks later to repair leak 6) subcontracted plumber was to connect sewer. We told him it was capped right after ***. He ignored us, said it was fine. But, its an illegal ******************************* starting to back up/puddle on the ground. We called the water **** & were told the plumber must connect sewer with water **** inspector present. They still have not fixed this 7) Meantime, we cant use water in new trailer bc no sewer drain. & we dont have water in camper bc it was rerouted to new trailer = health violation 8) we attempt calls, texts almost daily but only get told theyre working on it 9) subcontractor tells us they are also unable to reach ** for payment to begin stairs 10) prod mgr is stalling while waiting for money from other projects to come in to proceed with our project (robbing ***** to pay **** = FRAUD)11) estimate given with all $0s even tho demanded details PLEASE, WE NEED IN OUR HOME!!

We hired Connect Rebuilds to demolish and replace an exterior door and surrounding walls due to water damage. Their sales **** *****, was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. Once entering into contract with Connect Rebuild, we were handed off to a Project Manager, ****, who was extremely hard to get in contact with. He would often text saying he was in a meeting and would call back soon, but never call or text again. **** would say several times that a work crew was going to arrive on a certain day, and I would wait around all afternoon, and no one would show up. Connect Rebuild left 6 panels of drywall on my front porch for over a month. The deal stack blocked clean entrance into our home, causing us and our dogs to stumble, and it was wet and moldy and could not be used. Their work crew had been onsite at our home more than 6 times before the stack was finally removed, despite them promising several times they would take it away. ***** and **** both promised me that at the end of any given workday, no walls would remain open or uncovered. Their demo crew put holes in 2 walls and a ceiling and left them exposed for over 3 weeks, causing our electricity bill to skyrocket, and our cat to almost get lost under the house. **** indicated we were waiting on a door to be delivered from ********** before the door replacement could occur. When the door arrived it was the wrong size because ***** measured incorrectly. **** called ********** and got the correct door the same day, therefore there was no need to wait all that time and Connect had been lazy. Since the door was the wrong size, and Connect had removed and broken the old door, we had an open hole to our home for 7+ hours, causing our home to exceed 82 degrees, putting our 2 cold weather dogs at massive risk of overheating. The co-owner of Connect, *****, called their subcontractors average blue collar workers who are unreliable as an excuse as to why no one showed up occasionally. (Ran out of space).
