Cypress Lakes Village terminated our home purchase contract and kept our $2,500 deposit money. They lied to the sellers telling them that we had backed out of the purchase. We did not back out of the purchase, but I did make the mistake of telling the salesperson that we were having a finance issue and that we were trying to resolve the issue before having to back out. We quickly (1-hr after my discussion with the salesperson) resolved the financial issue and I immediately informed the salesperson by voicemail and email (see attached), but I was ignored and received no immediate reply. I did not receive a reply until approximately 4-hours later in the day when the salesperson emailed me stating that the contract had been terminated, and that the seller now wanted a new contract with a higher purchase price. We were also told that the golf cart we were to purchase directly from the seller as part of the deal had been sold. We were completely stunned by this reply. This same salesperson lied to us numerous times prior to us signing a contract to purchase. It cost us $3,000 for the trip we made to Florida to see a home that was described by the salesperson as clean, immaculate with high end furniture only to find out that it was a dump with rotted wood, water leaks and worn-out furniture. The 2nd home we saw, the home that we signed the contract on, was being sold partially furnished. The salesperson showed us what was included prior to us making an offer, but once the contract was signed, she informed us that many of the items that we were told were included were no longer included. When we complained about this we were told to take-it-or-leave-it. We are requesting a full refund of the $2,500 deposit.
