    We paid our deposit 2/18/24 weeks ago cannot get a hold of our contractor to start our project it has been almost a year we called the county regarding our permit and were told it has been sitting on there desk since August we email call no response we need advy

    FIRST OF ALL, WE DO REGRET THE TIME INVOLVED TO GET THE PERMIT WHICH WILL BE TYPED SOON, FINALIZED SO WE CAN ROLL ON THIS.  

    MANY THINGS AFFECTED THIS PRIOR TO TH E PLAN REVIEWER EVEN GETTING THIS ON HIS DESK.

    INITIALLY THE GENTILES NEVER SUPPLIED US WITH THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTATION TO SUBMIT FOR INITIAL INTAKE WHICH IS TO BE EXPECTED AS HOMEOWNERS ROUTINELY PIECE MEAL NEEDED DOCS AS THEY PROCURE THEM.

    THE SAID PERMIT PLAN REQUIRES AN UP-TO-DATE BOUNDRY SURVEY, STAMPED AND SIGNED BY THE LICENSED LAND SURVEYOR. THE GENTILES INITIAL SUPPLIED SURVEY WAS MISSING THE LEGAL DESCRIPTION AS WELL AS THE NECESSARY BINDING SIGNATURE BY THE LICENSED SURVEYER.  WE DID NOT RECEIVE THE ENDORSED COMPLETED ACCEPTABLE SURVEY UNTIL MID OCTOBER.

    THIS PARTICULAR SURVEY ADDED TIME.

    IT IS AN INVOLVED SCOPE WITH DETAILED PLANS.

    MANY DIFFERENT INTERPRETATIONS OF THE FLORIDA BIULDING CODE (FBC) THROWS QUESTIONS TO ALL INVOLVED.  IT'S A RELATIVELY EASY INSTALLATION.

    NOT ONLY THE CONTRACTORS HAVE QUESTIONS BUT THE STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS, PLAN REVIEWERS, BUILDING OFFICIALS AND INSPECTORS ALIKE SCRATCH THEIR HEADS RELATING TO THESE CATEGORIES AND TYPES OF SUNROOM ENCLOSURES. 

    MANY COMPANIES IN THE WINDOW AND DOOR INDUSTRY SHY AWAY FROM SUCH INSTALLATIONDS FOR THAT REASON. 

    THE AMOUNT OF HURDLES AND FINITE DETAILS AND APPLICABLE CODES RELATING ARE EXHAUSTING. 

     

    ON THE OTHER HAND,

     WE FEEL THAT WHATEVER THE *** IS BIG OR SMALL, IT NEEDS TO GET DONE.  WE DO NOT SHY AWAY FROM THE NEEDS OF OUR CUSTOMERS.  REGARDLESS OF IT BEING ROUTINE OR DEMANDINGLY INVOLVED SUCH AS THE GENTILES PROJECT. IT IS ONLY TIME CONSUMING AND DEMANDING FOR THE REASON OF THE INTERPRETATIONS SETFORTH BY THE **** AND THE PLAN REVIEWERS INVOLVED. .

    WE DO OUR BEST TO COMPLETE A QUALITY INSTALLATION, WITH WORTHY AFFORDABLE PRODUCTS THAT SATISFY OUR CUSTOMERS DESIRES PROMPTLY AND EFFICIENTLY.

    WE HAVE THE CUSTOM MANU****URED SLIDING GLASS DOORS IN STOCK, WHICH WILL ENCLOSE THE REAR NON-INHABITABLE, NON-CONDITIONED SUNROOM.  THIS IS THE REAL ISSUE AS THE PLAN REVIEWER IS TREATING IT LIKE A CONDITIONED ADDITION, THIS ADDS ELECTRICAL UPGRADES, AIR-CONDITIONING CALCULATIONS TO START WITH THE POSSIBLITY OF DUCT WORK OR EVEN ADDING AN AIR CONDITIONINING UNIT.  NOT TO MENTION ADDING LIVEABLE SQUARE FOOTAGE WHICH INCREASES THE SQUARE FOOTAGE, ADDS AN IMPACT FEE AND INCREASES TAXES SO EVEN MORE PLANNERS GET A PIECE....

    THE PLAN REVIEWER IN THIS CASE IS MAKING A BIG TO DO ABOUT AN ENCLOSURE THAT WE ARE NOT PROPOSSING NOR INSTALLING.

    WE HAD A TRANSITION IN OUR OFFICE AND THE WOMAN WHO WAS EXTREMELY INVOLVED IN THE PLANNING OF THE PROJECT WAS NO LONGER HERE WHEN THE ORDER WAS PLACED.  A NEW OFFICE MANAGER WAS HIRED AND WAS NOT TRUE TO HER RESUME OR SKILL SET PERTAINING TO THESE TYPES OF ADDITIONS.

    OUR OFFICE MANAGER AT THE TIME OF INQUIRY WAS MS. ********* ******. I'M GUESSING SHE SPENT OVER 50 HOURS OF ADMINSTRATIVE TIME (NOT COMPENSATED BY THE GENTILES, BUT BILLABLE TO OUR COMPANY NIXON SCREENING ***** THE COUNTLESS PHONE COVERSATIONS THAT I OVERHEARD WITH MULTIPLE EXPLANATIONS REGARDING EVERY ASPECT OF THE ENTIRE PROCESS FROM BEGINNING TO END WERE PLENTIFUL.THIS SEEMED NEVER ENDING AND LASTED NEARLY A YEAR AND A HALF. THE EMAILS, TEXTS AND VOLUME OF INQUIRES DEMANDED WE GET THIS *** TO HELP COVER THOSE HOURS LOST WITH REPETITIVE CLARIFICATIONS, SIMPLIFICATIONS LEADING TO MULTIPLE PROPOSALS.

    I CERTAINLY UNDERSTAND THEIR LACK OF KNOWLEDGE PERTAINING TO THE PROCESS. THEIR ROOTS ARE FROM *********** (**), IT IS A WHOLE LOT EASIER THERE THAN HERE IN ********FOR THE RIGHT REASON/S.

     HAVING GROWN UP WORKING MY HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE YEARS WITH St. **** CONSTRUCTION OUT OF *********** AND ****** CONSTRUCTION OUT OF ************, I'VE REALIZED THE BUILDING PROCESS IS A LOT LESS STRINGENT, LESS REGULATED THUS LESS TIME CONSUMING LESS 

    YES, UNFORTUNATELY, THIS PERMIT HAS TAKEN A LONG TIME TO BE PROCESSED.  IT TOOK A FEW MONTHS TO GET THE PROPER ENGINEERING AS THE PLAN REVIWER SHOT ALL SORTS OF THINGS DOWN THAT WERE NOT EVEN APPLICABLE. 

    GETTING ENGINEERING FOR SUCH SMALL ADDITIONS ARE DIFFICULT THIS DAY AND AGE AS IT'S TO SMALL OF A *** FOR MOST AND WE ALSO HAVE A SCREEN ENCLOSURE THAT IS BEING BUILT WITH SLAB AND FOOTER. THIS NEEDED TO BE DETAILED IN THE PLAN AS WELL AS THE ENCLOSURE OF THE CURRENT SCREEN PATIO. 

    OUR SCRENN ENCLOSURE ENGINEER AGREED TO DO THIS IN IT'S ENTIRETY EVEN THOU IT'S NOT HIS SPECIALTY DOING THE NON-HABITAL CLASS X ENCLOSURES. 

    WE HAD IT BACK AND FORTH FROM THE ENGINEER AND THE **** REVIEWER WHO WAS NOT ACCOMODATING AT ALL.

    THERE ARE VERY FEW ENGINEERS IN OUR AREA THAT DEAL WITH SCREEN ENCLOSURES AND THEY ARE ALL BUSY, TAKING WEEKS AND IN THIS CASE MONTHS TO GET PROPER PLANS TO US.  NOT ENOUGH QUALIFIED STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS PARTAKE IN THESE GLASS, SCREEN AND ACRYLIC ENCLOSURES.  NOT ENOUGH SUPPLY FOR THE DEMAND, LIKE SO MANY SERVICES HERE IN THIS RAT RACE OF *************.

    THERE WAS SOME NEGLECT ON OUR BEHALF AND THAT SQUARELY FALLS ON MY SHOULDERS, NO ONE ELSES.  I'M THE OWNER/OPERATOR AND SHOULD HAVE TAKEN OVER AS I REALIZED IT WAS BEING CHALLENGED BY TH EPLANNER FROM THE GET GO.

    THE FOLLOW *** WITH THE MANY COMMENTS PERTAINING TO THE WRONGFUL CLASSIFICATION OF ENCLOSURE LEANS TOWARDS THE ENGINEER AND PLANNER.  

     

    REGARDLESS OF BLAME, WHICH REALLY MEANS NIL AT THIS POINT. THE **** IS THERE IS ALOT OF COST ALREADY INCURRED TO THIS POINT AND TH EEND IS NEAR.

    MEANING WEW CAN GO INSTALL THOSE SLIDING GLASS DOORS SOMETIME NEXT WEEK.  

    WHEN THE PERMIT IS PRINTED, WE CAN DO THE FOOTER AND CALL THE IN-PROGRESS INSPECTION, POUR FOOTER AND SLAB.

    ERECT THE SCREEN ENCLOSURE.

    THE ACTUAL INSTALLATION WOULD ONLY **** *-7 DAYS INCLUDING AN IN-PROGRESS INSPECTION WELL AS FINAL.

    UNFORTUNATELY, WITH TIME AND RESOURCES UTILIZED, ENGINEERING AND THE EXPENSE OF THE SLIDING GLASS DOORS, THERE IS NOT $21K REMAINING OF THE ********* DEPOSIT.

    THERE IS PROBABLY HALF OF THAT BUT THAT IS A ROUGH FIGURE.

    I WILL BE READILY AVAILABLE ON MY CELL PHONE FOR ANY AND ALL COMMUNICATIONS, QUESTIONS AND DECISIONS.

    Every thing he said is false we called the permit department and they he applied in august  they never responded  to what needed this was late November his manager at the was his wife ******** . As a contractor he should know what he needs I sent him everything he asked for in a timely manner we probably made two calls a month to find out whats going on he responded he was all set they never returned our calls until recently when I was done with him and trust him doing the job now I hired someone else to do part of the job and they no problem its a easy job every house in my development has the enclosure that I wanted nobody ever had a problem he dropped the ball early in the process

    We reached out to the permit department we spoke to ***** he said Nixon never replied to questions they had so permit could never be completed 

     

    we have called the office of Nixon he never returns our calls

    he came to measure once for our wi does and the following day I received a call to measure our windows I said Nixon already did the *** said I only know what Nixon tells me I told him how dissatisfied I was and his comment was get in line

    our contract states this project was to be completed in 2?weeks its been a year please tell me how we out supposed to be satisfied with losing ***** dollars
