  Ms. Shonna Williams (AKA ) Treashonna P Graham is the owner and operator of Grant Bae Consulting and More. As of 09/29/2021 BBB has received 23 complaints and 14 reviews alleging that Grant Bae consulting is offering small minority owned businesses assistance in obtaining grants from various well known philanthropic foundations that it lists on its website.  Grant Bae charges a fee ranging from $1695 to $4500 and promises to find grants from $10,000 to $250,000. Complaints allege that no grants have been received and refunds are refused. The company has not answered 34 of the complaints and we have been unable to verify any relationship between Grant Bae and the foundations it purports to partner with.

  Government Action: BBB reports on known government actions involving business’ marketplace conduct:

  The following describes a pending government action that has been formally brought by a government agency but has not yet been resolved. We are providing a summary of the government’s allegations, which have not yet been proven.

   

  On July 13, 2022 the FTC and State of Florida filed Complaint (Case no. 3:22-cv-00655-MMH-JBT) for Permanent Injunction, Monetary Relief and Other Relief in the United States District Court Middle District of Florida against TREASHONNA P. GRAHAM, a/k/a SHONNA GRAHAM, a/k/a TREASHONNA LEE WILLIAMS, a/k/a SHONNA LEE WILLIAMS, also d/b/a The GRANT BAE, GRANT BAE, and GRANT BAE CONSULTING AND MORE, individually and as a member, manager, or owner of C LEE ENTERPRISES LLC, and C LEE ENTEPRISES LLC, a Florida limited liability company, also d/b/a GRANT BAE and GRANT BAE CONSULTING AND MORE

  The complaint alleges that Florida-based Grant Bae violated multiple laws, including the COVID-19 Consumer Protection Act, the FTC Act, and the Florida Deceptive Unfair Trade Practices Act by targeting minority-owned small businesses with claims that they could access millions of dollars in grant funding if they paid for the company’s services.

  According to the complaint, C Lee Enterprises LLC and Graham, who refers to herself as “The Grant Bae,” have marketed grant writing and consulting services to minority-owned small businesses through the Grant Bae brand. The false claims about the company’s services and Graham’s own background have been pitched on Facebook, Instagram, and in the Clubhouse audio app where Graham joined social media influencers. The complaint alleges that a handful of influencers and their close associates were the only people who actually received money from Grant Bae.

  The FTC’s investigation found that, since at least October of 2020, Graham has deceived consumers about nearly every aspect of Grant Bae and her own qualifications as part of an effort to convince minority-owned businesses she could secure grant funding for them. The complaint alleges that these deceptions, which cost small businesses thousands of dollars, included:

  • Misleading customers about grant status.
  • Falsely promising significant returns.
  • Deceiving customers about access to grants.
  • Lying about prior success.
  • Failing to provide promised refunds.
