I brought my dog in to have a very small growth removed from her shoulder. When a technician took us to the exam room he immediately informed me that bloodwork (full panel) would be required at $190.00 and would I like to go ahead with that before seeing the doctor? I said I'd like to see the doctor first. When the doctor arrived he said bloodwork, general anesthesia, lab analysis and other stuff would be advised to the tune of $697.00 This growth is a little larger than a pea. I declined and left. Since when do technicians prescribe treatment ahead of an exam from the doctor? I talked to the head veterinarian there and she said my doctor was new and that he had prescribed the "cadillac" plan. She offered to reduce the bill while telling me I was trying to get out of this the cheapest way possible. So, to sum up, technician tries to squeeze the customer out of $190.00 by recommending full panel bloodwork before an actual exam. Doctor exams and then recommends the "cadillac" plan. All for a tiny little growth the size of a pea. I've been traveling the country in an RV for the last 3 yrs and have seen a good number of veterinarians in my travels, some good, some bad. These people are crooks. They serve the villages in Florida and take advantage of seniors who love their pets. Don't go there.
