I sent a $200 payment to Everbright in March. The check was cashed, and cleared, on 29 MAR 2024. No posting of the $200 credit has ever appeared on any statement from Everbright, despite my spending hours on three (3) phone calls inquiring about this matter. Several promises to elevate the matter from Everbright representatives have consistently produced radio silence that is - no follow up, no courtesy calls, and no resolutions.Customer Answer

I received a call from EverBright Solar on Friday, 16 AUG 2024 and thanks to the team over there, we were able to determine that the $200 payment I reported actually went to a completely different company! I am so embarrassed at my lack of bookkeeping prowess. However, I must compliment EverBright for being able to determine that the payment actually went somewhere else. Thanks to everyone at EverBright. And thanks to the BBB for being so prompt on behalf of the American consumer.Business Response

We had solar put on our home last June. We went through a company called E-Equals. E-Equals used Everbright for our solar panels. We elected to lease the panels instead of purchase. We recently found out that Everbright put a lien on our home. We contacted our sales *** and E-Equals about this because this was NEVER mentioned. After speaking to E-Equals, they own the panels and we submit the lease payments through Everbright. So why is their a lien on my home? Again, we were never told of there would be a lien and if Everbright already sold the panels to the distributor, how could they put a lien on it in the first place.Business Response

I recently signed a contract with Everbright for solar panels on my home. We sold the home a few months later. I have been trying to reach Everbright to successfully transfer the loan to the new homeowner and no one has responded or has been able to help me for 3 weeks. This is unacceptable. It has taken so long that I am now being told that I owe money for the panels that I do not even own anymore. This customer service is so poor that it is costing me money. They told us that they would be reimbursing the electric bill over a certain amount they have not done it yet! They told us our bill would be one amount; its double that! We told the sales rep ***** and he said everbright would be right on it NO ONE HAS! We keep calling everbright they put us on hold and never come back. I was not told how exactly this solar program works. I was not walked through the contract the process. Everything was done electronically and so I had no support to tell me exactly what I was agreeing to.they said it would be a cheaper monthly bill and it is not. It is the same amount. This is saving me no money. Not only that the installers spoke zero English and couldnt answer any questions we had. I am now locked into a service that is COSTING ME MORE than I was paying before switching to solar. I feel like I was conned. This company is predatory.Business Response

I contacted Everbright about some complaints I had about my install. I also contacted the representative we dealt with. I got an email from another company, we never heard of. I have damage to my roof and soffit. I sent pictures of my complaints to Everbright and their representative that we dealt with. The company that came was called Volt. They mismeasured, drllied more holes in my brand new roof.Then my roof is black, now I have silver conduit on my roof. They drilled a hole through my roof, then put the conduit through the roof and through my soffit and damaged my soffit. They are choosing not to help resolve the issues. Talked to **** at Everbright. Now all of a sudden, they need my husband to call, when I, as his wife have been dealing with this. No one has had an issue talking to me, his wife. My husband can't accept call during the day.
Someone at Everbright needs to talk to *** *****.

I got solar panels for my house and to pay them off I financed a loan through everbright. I was never told that instead of it being a loan on my credit report that they would actually be putting a lien on my credit which is preventing me from getting a home loan. In order to get the loan everbright is requiring me to pay a $350 temporary lien release. I had talked to them last week and was told as a courtesy I would not have to pay for it and they would mail it to me. I called back today and found out that was not true and would have to pay this fee first and provide a closing date. This is impossible for me and feel I was deceived by this company completely. I am having extreme financial hardship right now since my partner lost his job a couple of months ago and I have to get this lien released temporarily in order to get approved to borrow the money I need to pay off and consolidate my debt.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
I still had to pay the fee and also was completely mislead by this company. I was told I would be financing a debt through a loan. Instead against my knowledge a lien was placed on my home for 50k which is way more than the solar panels are worth. I was told my bill would be 180/ month and it is 197 a month. I was told OG&E would pay me for using electricity but am still getting bills from them for around ***** a month. The minute I can afford a lawyer I am filing a lawsuit against this company for deceptive business practices.

My house is on ******************************* LLC is been holding the transfer of the contract to the buyer. Our escrow officer submitted our request of transfer June 27th 2024. Then we follow up by calling. The customer service told me its ***** business day. We keep calling and nothing done . We did not receive any email or update about our request. After 14 days we called again and that time they told me 30 days. Everbright LLCis been holding our closing on escrow and causing us more expenses as the buyer have to re-lock the interest rate knowing that the buyer is disabled. As a customer I feel being neglected and ignored with our request after all we pay them on time. EverBright has been extremely non-transparent throughout the transfer/assumption process required for our home sale. Today was supposed to be the close of escrow but EverBright is officially holding up a rather large deal and forcing two families into undue financial strain. This financial strain will require additional, unnecessary mortgage and insurance payments on one end, and rental and hotel costs on the other, delaying moving trucks, and a cascade of already stressful details for two relocating families. I couldn't recommend working with them any less. I will surely be contacting our solar salespeople and highly encouraging them, with written reviews, to stop working with EverBright unless this is rectified. I've regularly communicated with EverBright since 6/12 about our home sale, but the fact is that transfer paperwork can only be submitted when contingencies are lifted, which for us was 15 days into a 30-day escrow period. EverBright repeatedly told me and our real estate agent and our escrow company to expect 60 days for this process, even after I paid the $350 fee for transferring the contract. Where in the ************* is it reasonable to expect a 75-day escrow period for a home sale? Certainly not in southern **********, where home solar systems are ubiquitous. Our home sale deal might possibly collapse because of EverBright. Their customer service representatives are completely siloed from management, operations, and lending teams and aren't able to communicate or connect us to key people involved in the transfer process. Now, 49 days after I first called EverBright to inform them of our sale, two families are in housing and financial limbo with no real details from EverBright.Their terms to remove a lien and transfer our contract run against standard residential real estate practices. Our Escrow team has dealt with solar loan transfers many times and they have never dealt with such a slow and poorly executed process before.Business Response

We have had ongoing issues regarding the installation project labeled as completed, despite the fact that the installation was not yet finished. We have notified this lender, yet they still proceeded in dispersing payment to the installer. I have faced significant challenges with the customer service provided, encountering rudeness and unresponsiveness from your support team. Despite my efforts to address the situation, I have been left without power for weeks due to incomplete installation.Furthermore, illegal parts have been installed, leading to intervention from ******. It is evident that the current state of installation does not align with the terms stipulated in our contract.I have requested updates and assistance with my account repeatedly, only to be informed that our installer has been given an extension beyond the contract date without our consent. The only options that your team has offered us is:1. Be patient, solar can take up to three years for completion 2. obtain legal counsel 3. pursuing fraud allegations and engaging a new installer. In which we would need to obtain new rates, contractors, and factor in whatever they may charge us for this new contract.Even after addressing these issues and our inability to contact the installer and you, the lender, being unable to contact them too. We were instructed to deal with the manufacturer for warranty, who instructed us to pick an installer from the list and pay for a service tech to correct the system. Even though we are under a lease, you as a lender will not assist or hold the installer accountable. I have called over and over and was told I'd receive a call back with some sort of update as the newest ticket has been open since Jaunary 2024. There are previous tickets. I am unsure as to why it takes 8 months for an update. Instead, the numerous response I receive are to wait it can take up to 3 years and you can not assist me until a bill has been generate. Or your company directing me to obtain a lawyer, or refusing any responsibility or overseeing for this lease. I'm still waiting for a callback that was ensured I'd recieve by EOD two weeks ago.
