I went to have an eye exam and the associate ***** stated he could not give me prescription unless i bought from them. Based on ************************ im obligated to get my prescription. they are withholding and i didnt sign ANY paperwork that stated i had to buy from them first.i know they work off of commission but because i want to go elsewhere they are withholding my prescription. Eye doctors must provide a copy of a patient's eyeglass prescription immediately after an eye exam, even if the patient doesn't ask for it. My wife and I purchased glasses from Dr. ********************** back on June 12, 2024. It looks to me like they might be going out of business. I make multiple calls to them. No answer. Ive called dr. ********************** several times talk to him, but it sounds to me like hes leading me on. I went on July 1st 2024 to Cohens optical at ********************************************* and saw Dr *********************** got my Eyeglass prescription and paid $238.00 after the insurance paid the other amounts. I was told my eyeglass will be ready in two to 4 weeks, that I would get a call. I went 5 weeks later in august and was told it is still on the lab. Went back at the end of August and was told the same thing. I came back on Monday and found the site is closed there is construction inside the site saying they are remodeling an that a new management is in charge. There is no phone number to call, the email listed for questions does not work( bounced back) I called the ****************** Cohens optical but they told me they has nothing to do with the ************************************ Optical that they are independent business. I need my eyeglasses or my money back plus what my insurance covered because if I go to another optical the insurance will not cover me until July 2025.Anything you can do to help?Initial Complaint

Prescription glasses (2 pairs) were done with the wrong prescription, Dr ********************** sent them back to be redone at the end of July 2024. Its been a month and a half with no answers or updates. Now they closed their doors with a door sign of temporary closed and no other information on pending orders that were paid for. I contacted ****** **********************, office manager multiple times with no response. I am left with no options and I cannot afford to lose the money. I cannot drive without my glasses. I need them for work. This is very unfair to the consumers that have patiently waited for this practice to recover from their loss of staff and decline of customer service. They stopped answering phones 6 months ago, but I continue to support them even though the office was in chaos with police presence multiple times. I just wanted my glasses back.Customer Answer

MY WIFE AND I WENT IN JULY 17, 2024 AND PAID ABOUT $300 FOR HER GLASSES STILL N/A AND BUSINESS ON ************* IS CLOSED. DR ********************** SHOULD BE REPORTED AND ARRESTED ASAP FOR STEALING AND LYING TO PEOPLE. THIS IS SO WRONG AND I SPOKE TO SOMEONE IN THE ****** ************ HE ALSO DID THE SAME THERE, WORKED AND TOOK ALL HIS MERCHANDISE AND LEFT NOW AGAIN IN ANOTHER LOCATION. NO WAY! On December 27 2023 I had an eye exam at Cohen's fashion optical in ************ FL #*** invoice #******* I paid a total of $356.00 the cost of the frame was $250.00 they charged me my portion of $100.00 transitions grey $100.00 blue blocker $56.00 standard progressive $100.00. I did not receive my glasses until March of 2024 the glasses broke in April I was unable to contact them so I went to the location and it was closed down I understand now that corporate took over that location. I then had to go to another location in ********************* in July they replaced the frame but as they were inserting my lenses into the replacement frame the lenses broke so it had to be sent out. They offered me a second frame and to add the prescription to them with no cost. When I went in weeks later they could not find the frames they offered me free of cost and my frames had not come in that I went again and no frames at all mine or anyone else we are now in August 2024 I have been without glasses all this time and request for a full refund to myself and the insurance company ******. It has made an impact in my life because I can barely see with my old glasses so I cannot go out and drive.Initial Complaint

6/4/2024- Eye Exam & ordered Glasses. 2 months to get them had to go there because they never answer the phone. Honesty was there about 6 ********** glasses were not ready!..I requested refund...I was brought into the back to talk to Drurante himself, who promised me they would be there the following Wed after 2:PM and if not I would get both my glasses & a refund. Well they were not there Wed either. I filled out the refund form it was given to Austin(Cust Serv). I also spoke with ***** (cust serv) the following week and asked where y glasses were & why I did not receive my refund, this time I was put to speak with Dr ************************ wife ****** who proised me she would handle this personally. I was told a refund would be given, again never received it! I finally got my glasses 8/1/24...****** took my existing glasses and said she wanted to put the new RX in them as a form of apology for the inconvenience. Well that was over a month ago, been there again 4 times with lengthily waits, I still did not receive my original frame back with the updated RX. Still have not received my refund which was paid via CC and was told I would have to receive it back in a Cashiers Check! Which never happend. I have swveral witnesses who have accompanied me to Cohens Establishement for f/u,I lost my husband 2/16/24 I suffer from PTSD & have problems driving...during my frequent visits to this location I discovered there were many unhappy customers who were experiencing the same issue. Money taken and no goods delivered when & as promised! The receipts I sent was the only papers given to me. I believe they are doing the financial end of their business/DBA as ******************! They also do not have any REFUND policies posted in the office, and as I said all I got was the little paper ************ RX which was a second request for refund is hand written & states give to ******, this when ready... was given to ******. I went to get my eyes examined and update my glasses prescription on June 29, 2024. They told me I would get the glasses 4-5 five weeks. I have not heard from the company. I have been calling and no one has been answering the telephone. I went there on Sat August 17, at 9:30am no one was in the building and door locked. I returned today at approximately 1:15 pm a lady and a little boy was there, who saw me approaching the door and shut the door as I approached. I knocked on the door and they ignored me for 5 minutes then went on to say something. I beckoned to them that I cant hear what they are saying and I need to ask a question. The little boy came to the door as I was about to ask if the business is still operating the fat lady began arguing about a sign that I then noticed that stateddue to emergency they are closed until Monday. I proceed to enquire about the glasses where the young man stated if I dont get a call I am not to come to the office. It would appear that sign was a cover up and something shady is going on. I am seeking for a full refund of my money that I paid for my glasses to include what the insurance also cover so I can go somewhere else who value my business. I am trying to resolve this issue here if not I wil persue a lawsuit. Even if its $1 I will fight for my money. They dont know how the treat customers, I sat there and see it, and they are a ripoff. I have been a long time customer more then ***** going to this eye doctor and I went back on 12/23/23 for my annual *************** exam and to renew my prescription I paid $159.00 at time of service. I ordered a year supply of contacts and still have never received them. I moved further south since going to this doctor and asked them to mail me my Rx when it came in they said sure no problem. I since December have been calling and contacting them asking if my contacts have come in yet. Everytime I am given excuses and told contacts on back order we can mail you trail pairs I never get the trial pairs I got one pair in the mail once! When I was there back in December 2023 I was told I would need to follow up every 6 months for a vision field test due to possibly having glaucoma I scheduled my vision field test for 3/15/24 and paid $150.00 I went in and had a tech that was very unprofessional and playing on her phone and started loudly playing ******************* music half way through my exam and I am pretty sure it distracted ****** missed some of the dots I was suppose to click on the clicker I was NOT HAPPY. I tried to let the girl know she ignored me and brushed it off said everything was fine and just rushed me into the room to review with the doctor it was a friday and I guess was in a rush to get the weeekend started. I once again was not satisfied with the service received. I have been a long time customer and like ********************** a lot and rest of staff friendly so I have come back for a long time so I didnt make a big deal but I did ask if an office manager could call me I was told they were gone for the day and never got a call from anyone I tried to call back then next week and never got through. I also asked status of my contacts while I was there was total again contacts still on back order from Dec! I was given one more trial pair to hold me over. On May 10, 2024, I went to an optical appointment and was charged $180 for glasses. After multiple attempts , my glasses arrived finally on July 8th, I was seen by *** ********************** who told me that the prescription was done incorrectly. At that moment , I informed them I wanted to return the glasses and took my business elsewhere. At that point, the doctor told me I could come back in 1 week for the refund. I gave him more time since I was going out of town. On July 25th I arrived and the office was closed due to an emergency. On July 26, I went to see *** ********************** and nothing was done. He kept telling me that his accountant couldnt write a check and that I just had to request a chargeback from the credit card for the $180 I paid (plus interest). This is not the right way to do business . The staff were all beyond rude and although the doctor tried to help, he was clueless about his business. He stated there were 2 different bank accounts , which is none of my business, and how their account couldnt do a basic refund transaction. Disappointing.
