Oates energy is a disgraceful company in every aspect. For over 1 year plus they have been overcharging me for water and sewer. This month my bill went from $50 which is high for my area to $102 and my apt. Is 700 square feet with 1 bathroom and no washer and dryer. This is burying me financially. I am a senior citizen living on a fixed income. I have read they are targeting us especially out of state residents. They believe we are so stupid and won't catch on. Well i will not allow this to happen, and i will fight tooth and nail to stop them. I have gone to my property management company and staff and they are now aware of all this and will be investigating. This is criminal activity and greed beyond. Our world is suffering so and I will do all I can to stop this highway robbery. I am originally from ********, ** and trust me when I say this. I will stop.them one way or another. We must do what we can to save our planet and help all the lost souls destroying it. Please beware of Oates energy. **** *.Asheville, N C.

Hello ****, Thank you for giving us the opportunity to address your concerns. For your community, billing is divided into two phases. Your phase is billed based solely on hot water usage, and charges are allocated according to the providers monthly invoices. From December through February, the property did not receive any water charges from the provider due to the aftermath of the October hurricane. As a result, your water charges during that time were significantly reduced, while sewer charges continued at their normal rate.Beginning in March, we resumed receiving regular invoices from the provider, and your billing returned to the normal water rates for your phase. Please be assured that your current charges are still directly tied to your units actual usage. If youd like to explore ways to reduce your monthly costs, wed be happy to share some water conservation tips. Additionally, we will coordinate with your community's maintenance team to obtain a photo of your water meter to ensure our readings align with what we are billing.Thank you again for reaching out. Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

The company changes billing cycles to ensure residents in the community are forced to pay higher rates for their 1200 gallon threshold. They turn a utility that formerly averaged $40 a month into $80, $100, even $140 for what should be the most affordable utility. They do not return calls/emails in a timely manner waiting as much as 3.5 weeks to respond, and only after I followed up. Their customer service agent has a perpetual attitude that is going to get her cussed out. They also schedule meter installation with literally same-day notice. I had literally 20 minutes before the guy came to install it. What if I had been at on-site work in my hybrid role then? They are thieves and should be publicly outed as such.

We apologize for overlooking this issue and are thankful it was brought to our attention. Please see the attached email sent in response to ****'s last email today:Hi ****, Thank you for your email and please excuse our delay in responding. The representative that you were communicating with, Avion, is out of the office on a medical leave of absence. I understand you were inquiring about the longer than average billing cycles. This is not ideal, however, at times, there are delays in receiving the reads which therefore delay the invoices. As for the rate structure, the community is billed based on the actual water and sewer bill from the water provider. The city will bill the entire site on one bill, showing all water and sewer charges and consumption. This is then spread across the occupants at *********************. With this said, the rates change monthly based on the consumption used and how the city bills the association. Please let me know if you have any additional questions, thank you!

How much $$ are kicked back to the apartment owners?I don't blame them for wanting to money, but these fees are found out after application, and should be transparent upfront with every application. , and presented to tenants up front when applying for any apartment complex. Maybe one day a legislature will make this so. Of course the benefits you provide are great for Landlords, minimizing their need to deal with payments for all these sorts of things, but Storm sewer fees? Really. THIS BUSINESS IS NOT BBB ACCREDITED. Wonder why.

The property receives a bill for water, sewer, stormwater, trash for the entire property that they pay ahead of time. They have hired us to break down the cost of the services and bill each unit so they know what to collect in order to recoup the costs. We perform quarterly rate reviews to ensure residents are being accurately billed. These fees should've also been presented to you upon signing your lease. Please call us directly at ************ if you have any questions about your first bill and we'll be happy to assist or review. Also, we were formerly BBB accredited but any reputable business can be BBB accredited if they pay a regular fee to BBB. We eventually did not find it necessary to continue to pay for these bragging rights but understand if other companies prefer to.

Charge you a late fee without calling it a late fee. Water $6, Sewer $9, Admin fee (BS fee) $2.85. If your check gets there 1 day late, add on Other Adjustments $12. Can literally pay two days late online and get no Other adjustments charge but have to pay $3 extra to pay online. Just another business that has to nickel and dime its customers who have no choice in where their services come from.

We have a 1 day grace ****** for late payments, but late fees are an industry standard to get customers to pay on time. We do label our late fees as such and not by any other name.We also have a $3 processing fee to pay by card or e-check but have a number of other ways to pay without fee - including mailing a check, Online Bill **** and ACH. Please contact us if we can go over these options or go over the rates.

I recently had an error on my bill, an error to the tune of 5x the usual amount. Oates Energy took my request to look into the matter seriously and not only found what the problem was, but admitted the mistake was theirs. To me, that is exceptional customer service.
