Horrible experience with an automobile repair shop located at ******************************* I possess payment receipts and work order invoices to support claims. January 2, 2025, I took my 2009 Impala to American Transmission for service because the temperature gauge indicated the car was overheating, and the message center displayed "Turn off A/C Engine overheated." Additionally, the fuel gauge was not functioning. January 3, 2025. We paid $802.58 for the repairs. January 6, 2025, we returned the car to American Transmission the fuel gauge was still not working. This time, we were told that the fuel gauge issue was due to a faulty fuel pump. We agreed to the repair and authorized a complete brake service. January 14, 2025, We paid $1,518.90. January 15, 2025, took car back to American Transmission because the engine light was on, the rear seat was not reinstalled properly, and there was an oily substance on the seat. We were informed that a faulty part had been installed. February 10, 2025, we returned to American Transmission once again because the temperature gauge stopped working, and the message center displayed "Turn off A/C Engine overheating." We were advised to replace a water pump, thermostat, and fluid replacement. On February 12, 2025, we paid $741.12 for this.On February 19, 2025, we returned to American Transmission once more because the temperature gauge had stopped working again, and the message center displayed the same overheating warning. February 24, 2025, having not heard back from American Transmission. The assigned service writer stated that this time the car needed an Engine Control Module replacement. This experience has been mentally and financially challenging, and my intent is to inform others so they can make informed decisions regarding this establishment. I find their moral values and business practices to be untruthful and not in the best interest of the paying customer. Total spent: $3,062.60.

******************** brought his 2014 Buick Lacrosse to our facility on July 5th 2024 for his vehicle first gear stall intermittently then jumps into gear. ******************** has an extend warranty thru SilverRock so we have to do an initial diagnostic in order to start a claim. The initial diagnostics showed that the automatic transmission had internal failure. Once this was called in ********** sent an inspector out to confirm the findings to determine the next move. SilverRock authorized us to install a remanufactured transmission in ********************** vehicle. The extended warranty company paid us $4097.89 and ******************** only had to pay $400.00. We completed the repairs and the vehicle passed the finalization process and ******************** was notified his vehicle was ready for pickup. On August 27th 2024 ******************** returned with his vehicle claiming that it was hesitating to shift into first gear and then would hit hard into gear. After several days of putting miles on ********************** vehicle we were still unable to duplicate ********************** complaint and the transmission is operating properly. We let ******************** know and asked if he would like to ride with a technician and show us what he was experiencing or he could take the vehicle and drive it himself until the issue was happening more often. ******************** decided to pick his vehicle up at no charge. ********************** claim we put a junkyard transmission is his vehicle is false. American Transmission has been in business for over ********************************************************** that manner. SilverRock is the extended warranty company and can check that transmission at any time and will find we remanufactured this unit in ********************** vehicle. We spoke with ******************** before picking his vehicle up and he understood that he still has a valid warranty on the transmission and assured him that a remanufactured unit was installed in his vehicle.

Bottom Line Upfront: DON'T BUY A TRANSMISSION FROM AMERICAN TRANSMISSION, especially if you are from out-of-state. I contacted American Transmission at the behest of the auto shop that my car got towed to after the transmission blew between ************, ** and ***********, ** on my way home to *********. I was told to have the auto shop call them because the auto shop's rate for the transmission would be better and I would still get a nationwide, 3 year/100k mile warranty. DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!! I wish I had. The transmission was installed by the auto shop but had to be towed back to American Transmission needed to install speed sensors. After about a month, I was told my car was fixed. I flew down and picked up my car. American Transmission would not give me the warranty paperwork even though I was told by the auto shop the paperwork would be in the car when I went to pick it up. I finally received the warranty paperwork from the auto shop which basically said to contact American Transmission if there are problems. So, after only a month of picking up the car and approximately 1k miles, the transmission was leaking fluid. I took it to my local dealership and was told the wrong fluid was used to seal the transmission. They recommended a brand-new transmission. American Transmission was contacted about the warranty. A representative from the warranty department sent the dealership the real warranty information that I NEVER received or was made aware of. American Transmission would pay less than $1k towards honoring the warranty. The transmission would be picked up from a delivery company AFTER I paid to have it taken out my car ($2k), then delivered back to American Transmission for repair. No thanks! I'd rather not send it back to be "fixed", then have to pay for it to be installed AGAIN. I had already spent $5k for a "fixed" transmission. Please don't fall prey to them like I did.

Worst experience! I would not recommend. My car had broken down twice after paying over 4000 for American transmission to fix it and I had to be without my car for months due to the high expense and the order of parts and labor. A month after getting my car back I had tow the car back to them for breaking down from the same initial transmission issues I had in the first place. So I had to pay towing fees and nearly beg the manager *** to at least refund me my towing fee, he argued with me back and forth and told me he probably wouldnt be able to refund me just for the towing fees and also that he was no longer going back and forth with me. He was unsympathetic to what I had been through with his company and having to tow my car for the 2nd time of them fixing it and he told me that I can go and tell whoever I need to and there was never a guarantee of my car being fixed in the first place. He said that most cars transmission that they supposedly fix are either good for years or temporarily and would have to be brought back in the matter of weeks, which is misleading because I was told before I paid over 4k that my car would be fixed. So its a hit or miss type of company and if I wouldve known that I wouldnt have wasted my money. After arguing with me and me walking out 5 minutes later right before I left manager *** came to his senses then told me he would order another transmission and apologized for his actions and recommended that after this 3 rd time of fixing my car that I should trade my car in once they got it back to me. So clearly they cant guarantee fixing your transmission so dont waste your time or money. They are also terrible communicators I always had to reach back out to them after being told that they would call at a certain day or time. Days would go by and I wouldnt be notified of the status of my vehicle.

American Transmission operates at the highest professional level and some conversations can get uncomfortable dealing with the stress of a broken car but we never in anyway want a customer to feel like we are not sympathetic to their issues. We did replaced the transmission in Ms. ******* 2017 Sentra at a reduced cost on 12/26/23. She made payments which took about three months to pay this bill. We normally dont stretch payments out for months but we made and exception just to clarify the time frame that the car was here the first time. The transmission in this type of vehicle has a high failure rate due to the design. We buy these transmission from another company. This would be why we ordered another transmission for her vehicle. Transmissions like many things are assembled by people, which can have failures, this is why warranties are given. We have and continue to honor our warranty given to ****************. We did reimburse her for her towing fees of $175.00. We also restart her warranty on May 24, 2024 when she picked up her vehicle. We are very sorry for any inconvenience we may have caused, and apologize for the failure for lack of communication for not returning calls on a timely manner.I do feel we have resolved Ms. ******* issue and moving forward should have a good working relationship given the chance.
