I gave them 2 stars since the Generac system seems to be installed correctly but not the Solar panels.I was referred to Solar Energy Labs by Generac when I requested a quote for the Generac PWRcell system. The sales rep came to my house June 4th 2021 with quotes for 3 different solutions with 24, 28 and 32 panels without seeing my house in person since they use ****** maps to gather information about the roof and which direction the house faces etc. After reviewing my electric usage we agreed that 20 panels (325 ***** each for 6.5kwh total) would be enough to generate the power needed. No documentation was provided to estimate the amount of power that would be generated.I signed the agreement June 17th and installation was scheduled for week of August 2nd. Installation took about a week, system was inspected by the city and JEA then meter swapped to allow for excess power to be sold back. The system was online and usable August 16th, 2021. I installed the monitoring app for the system on my phone after registering online. I reviewed the system output and found that I was only generating averaging between 3-5kwh of power from about **** pm due to the placement of the panels on the roof. This is only about 70% of system rating and only getting that for 2-3 hours. This isnt nearly enough to make a dent in my electric **** or charge the PWRcell battery once it has been depleted due to a power outage or using it as designed in Self Supply mode during off hours of daylight. My house faces south, all of the panels could not be installed on the south facing part of my roof due to the roofline. All of the panels were installed on the East side of my house near the property line that is lined with trees so it is has the most shade and only gets direct sun during mid-day. No panels were placed on the south facing roof even though there is room for some panels.I called Solar Energy labs around August 18th to bring it to their attention, they sent out someone to evaluate the installation a few days later and said they would get back to me with a solution. I heard back from ********************* mid-September to say they havent forgotten about my issue and would get back to me. I called back September 30th to see if I was on the schedule to resolve the issue and would get a call from ********************* on Monday October 4th but did not hear from him. I called on Tuesday October 5th and was able to speak with **** and he asked to give them until the end of October to allow them to catch up due to weather and Covid delays to resolve the issue by relocating panels to another place on the roof that gets more sun during the day. If they are left in place I would have to trim the trees on my property and my neighbors property to get more morning sun on the panels but at a cost of $2000 and would need trimmed annually. If they were put in the right place to start with then we would not have an issue. So far my electric **** has been reduced by $6 per month but also have to pay $136 per month for the solar system which doubles the cost for power that I was paying without the solar system.
