Bought a 2024 Nissan rogue about 6. Months ago it has broke down after a recent oil change that was done on 16 Jan 2024 they are trying to blame it on gas from circle k I filled up another vehicle with the same gas and it runs fine Coggin Nissan isnt willing to fix the issue the technician made during my last oil change I would like my vehicle repairesBusiness Response

After inspection it was discovered that the issue with the vehicle was bad fuel. We pulled out samples of the fuel and show him the damage the fuel caused to the spark plugs. Unfortunately, this damage was not covered by the manufactured warranty. We tried to explain to the guest that we could not just make it a warranty repair as warranty repairs are dictated by the manufacture. As a good faith gesture, we offered Mr. ****** a significant discount to try to help with the unexpected financial burden. He stated he didnt have any money to participate and wanted us to cover it under warranty. We suggested that he could get a second opinion at another Nissan dealership.Initial Complaint

Ive brought 2 cars within 5 months from this location. Both cars, a 2016 Nissan Rogue and a 2019 Nissan Sentra BOTH with transmission issues and not just a simple fix BOTH require a transmission replacement. In May 2024 ***** ***** a sales consultant at Coggin sold me the 2016 Nissan rogue and within 2 weeks there were issues, and I had to bring the car back to Coggin. They had my car for over a month just for ***** ********, the service manager to tell me the car needed a transmission replacement. Once ***** submitted a claim to the warranty company and they denied the claim, ***** informed me that they misdiagnosed the car and it just needed a new fuel pump, 3 months went by (August 2024) and I had to bring it back up there for ***** to tell me again that its an actual transmission issue but I would have to pay out of pocket for an issue ***** had already knew about within 2 weeks of me buying the car. ***** ******* decided to assist me and sale me another car I brought the 2019 Nissan Sentra in October 2024, just for me to take it to a different location (Nissan at ***********) and have a diagnostic test and I found out this 2019 Nissan Sentra that I brought at the end of October 2024 will need a transmission replacement (Jan 2025). ****** ******* the manager was no help, ***** ******** was no help, ***** ***** was no help and unfortunately ***** was no help. This is the worst dealership to buy a car from. I was able to buy a car from Cars and credit on Cassat and had absolutely no issues from *********. All I wanted was a new reliable car. Theres no way I should leave a big-name dealership just to turn around and have to replace a TRANSMISSION.Business Response

To whom it may concern,
Mrs. ****** bought a Nissan Rogue from our dealership and after driving the vehicle for a couple of months the vehicle had mechanical issues. We were accommodating and gave Mrs. ****** a rental vehicle at no charge while we tried to diagnosis the vehicle. After diagnosis was completed indeed the vehicle's transmission needed to be replaced. We started a claim with the owner's extended warranty but unfortunately it was not a covered component.
Ours sale team stepped in and was able to get Mrs. ****** a different vehicle, which has been driven for 4 months now. We just found out the new vehicle has mechanically issues and is at a different dealership. The new vehicle has a full warranty with transmission coverage.
Mrs. ****** has not brought her vehicle here to give us an opportunity to rectify any of her concerns. I did call Mrs. ****** 01/15/2025 @ 1:30pm to try to be sought out any issues. Mrs. ****** informed me that the vehicle is being fixed/ diagnosis at another dealership. We are willing to help in any way.

I took my car in for an oil change when I got my car back driving on the highway. I couldn’t turn the wheel. I had to use muscles to turn the wheel. I had absolutely no issues turning my wheel before I took it into the Nissan dealershipBusiness Response

To whom it may concern,
*** ***** brought vehicle in for our oil and filter change special. The service requested was performed, we replaced the oil and oil filter along with a complementary multi point visual inspection. **** ***** did call 2 times and hung up both times our dealership personnel, we did not have a chance to help or try to find a solution, all we know the Nissan Rogue has no more power steering, replacing the engine oil and filter will not affect the power steering system. **** ***** vehicle does not have the conventional power steering system, it has electrical steering system which uses a motor on the steering rack and pinion, these components are not part of the engine, We would be happy to offer a courtesy diagnosis, ; we were not given the opportunity for a resolution. We will gladly refund **** ***** for the service she paid of $48.93

This Coggin Nissan Dealership has not been able to determine or resolve the issue of why the "check engine" light on my 2014 Nissan Frontier truck's "check engine" light keeps coming on. This began in November 2023. The first visit to the service ***** I was informed it was the upper manifold and paid for that to be replaced/repaired. After picking up my truck, the next day on the way to work, once again the check engine light came back on. The second diagnostic to the service ***** they informed me it was the lower manifold which they replaced/repaired and I again paid for this service. After this the "check engine" light came back on and they again made the diagnostic it was corrosive parts used and they had to wait for parts on b ack order. They have now had my truck going on four weeks (since the beginning of December) without resolving or correctly diagnosing the issue. This has been an inconvenience for me and my wife, limiting us to one vehicle; as well as using funds from my savings account and borrowing from my sister to pay for services that have not resolved the issue. They keep giving me excuses as to why the service /repairs to my truck have not been completed every time I call them. I am also submitting a compl a int against them with t h e Nissan Corporation because I have been pat I ent v and this is ridiculous.Business Response

In regards to the problems experienced by ********************************* we at Coggin Nissan on Atlantic have indeed had his vehicle since the beginning of December. Upon initial inspection of Mr.******** ******** the technician diagnosed the check engine light as having a failed upper intake manifold. ****************** was charged, the repair was performed, and the check engine light was cleared. Upon Mr. ******** return the following day his Frontier was found to be presenting with an identical code for a failed upper manifold, the manifold was inspected and found to be defective. Due to the nature of the failed part ****************** was not charged for the additional repair to replace the manifold a subsequent time. The check enginelight later came back on again for the same intake manifold concern. We proceeded to get assistance from Nissan North America and their engineering team while conducting our own investigation further into the matter. During this time a loaner vehicle was supplied to ****************** at no additional cost to him. After several testing procedures were conducted with the assistance of Nissan North America and their engineering team it was found that the subsequent intake manifold was also found to be defective. We were then informed that issues have been found with this supplier in regards to this particular part. We have now replaced the intake manifold under warranty at no cost to ****************** and the vehicle is now operating as intended. No additional fees have been charged to ****************** after the initial repair was performed, all subsequent costs have been absorbed the dealership. We did reach out to ****************** to explain the situation. ****************** is now happy that his vehicle is fixed and has been recovered as a Nissan customer. We sincerely apologize for any difficulty and inconvenience felt by ****************** and his family.

I purchased a vehicle from this business where I was assured the car was ran through all inspections- I also purchased a warranty. The cars transmission went out within weeks, it was attempted to be fixed and still was not fixed. The dealer then offered to trade me into a new car. We did this, and the new car transmission went out the next day. They then traded me into a NEW car which started smoking the next day. They also have both cars with bad transmissions still posted for sale. This company has had many customers come in and complain of being sold lemons which Ive seen. They also have many reviews online stating the same. They sold me 3 lemons and now Im stuck in a lease in a lemon.Business Response

I purchased my car from Coggin Nissan 3/31/2022. Approximately two days later the 2012 Nissan Murano started smoking. I took the vehicle in and was told it was the radiator and they advised me they replaced the radiator. I didn’t notice any problems until 3/2023. The same issue occurred. I called the service department and got an appointment to bring the vehicle in for diagnostics. The radiator is still under warranty until the end of March 2023. Chris Fisher was the advisor. He basically gave me the run around. He stated the reservoir was empty. Then he stated they didn’t know why it was empty when clearly it was something wrong with the radiator. He stated they didn’t find anything wrong after having the vehicle from 3/10/2013-3/14/2023 and told me to take it to another Nissan dealership with no warranty. There is clearly something wrong with the radiator which is still under warranty and I want the radiator replaced.Business Response

Sorry for the delayed response. On March 16th 2023 we fixed the customer’s issue at no cost to the customer. The small leak was coming from a hose connected to the radiator. As a good faith gesture we replaced the radiator as well. If you have any other questions feel free to contact me.

Sometime in October, early September 2022, I financed my second car through Coggin Nissan. My first sales Rep was *******. He went above and beyond. My second sales rep was a new, young man. I worked with the same finance guy for both cars. The second time around I need to remove my cars gap insurance and extended warranty. Since purchasing the car, I have moved to another state. I got in touch with the finance guy I used he said he would start working on it and get back to me if there was anything I needed to do or to tell me it was good to go. Three weeks go by and I don’t hear a word, so I call and leave voicemails and i call one final time and the very sweet counter lady tells me he no longer works there. So, I ask to speak with the new person in his place, they said he was with someone. So it is now Feb. 2023 and I have yet to hear anything about my gap insurance or extended warranty being removed. In fact, I haven’t had one single returned call since the financing of the vehicle.Business Response

I purchased 2018 Rogue from Coggin Nissan on Atlantic Blvd, Jacksonville, Fl 32225 on 12/10/21. I signed dealer cancellation forms for the extended warranty and maintenance plan on 1/7/2022 and again on 6/8/2022. The Nissan Corporation was called to verify the status on 4/29/22, 6/7/22 and 12/6/22 and each time was told cancellation documents had not been received so still showed as active. As a result, the refund of these fees totaling $3,845.00 has not been received. 1/7/22, Cancellation documents showed mileage as 32,635, which was the mileage on the odometer as of the purchase date. 6/8/22, mileage was changed to 33,453 in error.Business Response

On August 11, 2022 I dropped my car off at Coggin Nissan on Atlantic because my car wasn't shifting out of 1st gear. The vehicle was diagnosed later that day and determined the transmission needed to be replaced. On Friday, August 12, 2022 I spoke with a gentleman in the service department and we found my car is under warranty. At that time my service advisor Lori told me they'd cover a rental. Until now, December 05, 2022 my transmission is still on back order.
I wasn't as upset until I received a call from Lori on November 29, 2022, telling me Coggin Nissan wants me out of the rental because the bill is up to $4,000. I contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs, but was unsuccessful convincing them they need to pay for a rental or provide a loaner because we are now 4 months waiting on a part with no answer in the foreseeable future. The lady I spoke with stated an update will be available on December 09, 2022, which I've heard numerous times leading up to this time.
I do not have money for a rental. The approximate cost for a rental is $1,000 a month which is more than my car payment, which I will continue having to make while I don't have my vehicle. The idea of taking my car and driving it around until the transmission is in isn't safe. For one, it'll put a lot more wear on the motor because it'll rev higher as a result of not leaving 1st gear. I work downtown which is over a number of bridges to access work which isn't safe to drive over.
Nissan has left me in a very bad position that is impacting my life and work as a result of this. I don't think asking for a rental or a loaner vehicle is too much to ask for since it will be a minimal another month (or more) before I get my car back. It might be several months, but nobody knows at this point.Business Response

Hello, For ******* complaint the part he needs is a transmission which is on back order. Every Monday we receive a communication from Nissan letting us know when the transmission will ship to our location. The manufacture has pushed the date several times and as of today they stated to us that we may know something within the next 5 business days. The warranty company that ***** has will pay for a rental car, however not until the parts are here to do the repair. I have called our local Nissan representative to possible provide some assistance and hopefully will hear something back by Wednesday 12/21/22 to see if we can. If ***** needs to reach out to me here is my direct line ************. we want to help.

Our 2020 Nissan Leaf has been a defective evaporator. Why wife and I are not comfortable driving the vehicle without air conditioning.
The part is on back order.
There is no ETA to get the part.
We would like a vehicle to use while ours is in the shop at no out of pocket cost to us.Business Response

guest experience with each visit, as such this concern is of course top
priority to us. Unfortunately, as the servicing dealer we do not have
control over the availability of parts, however, as soon as the part is
available we will ensure to reach out to you to complete the repair as quickly
as possible. In regards to the rental, under most circumstances for a covered
warranty repair, the warranty company covers alternate transportation which is
why we are unable to provide a guarantee on the amount of
reimbursement. We certainly understand our customer’s frustrations
and will do everything in our control to assist in a timely manner.
With regard to loaners, loaner vehicles were provided as a
courtesy in most situations during short term repairs. Unfortunately in our
market today with the shortage of vehicles, we do not always have loaners
available.
