I moved from ******* to ****. The owner guaranteed they would wrap my large wall hangings and they would be fine. One of the wall hangings the glass was shattered the delivery man didnt even ********* and my freezer wasnt wrapped and brand new freezer has more scratches and dents than a showroom floor selling scratch and debt products. No one has returned my call from Lighthouse movers. The delivery man even wrote on the contract damaged items and took pictures. I have also sent pictures to the owner. Of course, no response and its been almost 2 months. Very unprofessional and unacceptable. I Do Not Recommend Lighthouse Movers. Rating a 3 because the delivery man was solo delivering my furniture.Lighthouse Movers, Inc. Response

STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY (LIGHTHOUSE MOVERS) AS POSSIBLE..... THEY TALK A GOOD GAME, BUT DAMAGE YOUR PROPERTY (noticed that after the move, our front door had what looked like a 6 inch scratch, but was actually a dent, and we don't know yet if new buyer of the property will complain about it)..... THEY ( THE MOVERS, NOT THE PACKER) DON'T BOTHER TO LABEL BOXES THEY HAVE PACKED AND MOVED, LIE ABOUT PADDING DOORS AND UNDERESTIMATING THE ACTUAL COST OF THE MOVE BY SEVERAL HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS (THAT'S WHAT THE GUY WHO SHOWED UP ST OUR HOUSE ESTIMATED OUR COST TOLD **), THEY RESIST AN ACCEPTANCE OUR ** TO FILE A CLAIM FOR ANY POTENTIAL LOST ITEMS (WHILE ON THE ***** AND AFTER THE **** THE PERSON WHO GAVE THE ESTIMATE SPOKE OVER ME, RATHER THAN HAVE CONSIDERATION FOR OUR CONCERNS), CONTRADICT A CUSTOMER'S STATEMENTS, NEVER SHOW THE APPEARANCE FOR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION (THEY DON'T CARE, AND IT SHOWS), AND HAVE THE **** TO EVEN MENTION OR EVEN ADDRESS A TIP, ESPECIALLY WHEN A JOB HASN'T BEEN DONE..... NEVER HAD A COMPANY (IN 25 YEARS) MENTION A TIP OF ANY KIND.... STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.... DON'T TRUST JUST A GOOD REVIEW.... THAT'S WHAT WE DID HERE, AND THIS IS WHAT WE GOT.... WE DON'T WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS COMPANY OR ITS EMPLOYEES EVER AGAIN. ASK AROUND BEFORE COMMITTING TO HAVING A MOVING COMPANY HIRED TO PACK AND MOVE YOUR HOUSE. DON'T SAY WE DIDN'T WARN YOU..... WE NOTICED IN THE REVIEWS SECTION HOW THIS COMPANY RESPONDED TO ITS NEGATIVE REVIEWS OF ITS CUSTOMERS ABOUT IT..... THIS IS PPATHETIC.AGAIN, WE DON'T WANT ANY FURTHER CONTACT WITH ANYBODY ASSOCIATED WITH THIS COMPANY EVER AGAIN. IF THERE ARE ANY OTHER ISSUES WITH OUR HOUSE AND PERSONAL PROPERTY, WE WILL MORE THAN LIKELY TAKE THE ***** ALL WE WANT TO DO HERE IS INFORM CONSUMERS THAT THIS COMPANY IN ************ WAS NOT WORTH OUR TIME. CONSUMERS BEWARE......Lighthouse Movers, Inc. Response

This is *************************** the owner and the estimator who came out and did your onsite estimate. During the packing process we labeled every single box that we packed for you the day before the move. The only box that was not labeled was a box that you gave us to put your tv cords in the next day on the moving day. The reason the estimated time went over was due to the very long carry to the backyard at the destination address which you had us load every box into a shed. The one box that was unlabeled was put into the shed with the other boxes per your instructions. Once you called me to say that you could not find your tv cords, I called the crew and they let me know that the box was in the shed. I offered to have one of my crew members come out for free to locate the one unlabeled box in the shed and hook your TV's back up for you for free which we typically do not hook up electronics. You declined my offer to correct the one issue. Instead you chose to go online and leave a negative review. As far as the tip most customers tip our crews based on the satisfaction of the customer, you chose to give them a $100 tip which is not mandatory and was never specified in the estimate. My offer still stands to come out and locate the box in the shed. I regret that you had a bad experience.Customer Response

This writing is in response to LIGHTHOUSE MOVERS' initial response to our review of them on this site (with the Better Business Bureau). We're not going to let the spokesperson from LIGHTHOUSE MOVERS (***************************) get the last word without us responding to his lies. We can sum this up in a few words: Broken promises, broken promises, broken promises! We are attempting to convince everybody who reads our review and needs a moving company TO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY FOR ANY REASON TO MOVE ANY ITEMS FROM ONE LOCATION TO ANOTHER.. We wouldn't ordinarily make a fuss over a minor issue for anything, but it's worth our time to sit down for at least a few minutes and tell anybody needing to move what we saw and noticed as customers of this company. We wouldn't recommend this company to move personal items, even if it were across town. That's exactly the opinion we have about Lighthouse Movers. And that opinion won't change. You can believe LIGHTHOUSE MOVERS' spokesperson, ***************************, all you want and if you like, but be prepared if your expectations aren't met. *************************** was not at either one of those locations the day of our move (day #2), so why would *************************** even give an opinion about what took place on the job when he wasn't there to witness door frames not being padded, day #2 boxes not being labeled, and then some? After the bad experience we had from the move on day #2, and after *************************** offered on the phone to have one of his movers go into our shed to look for an unmarked box of electronic components, would you allow for *************************** to send one of his movers to your house to look for your stuff if you had a similar experience like we had? We didn't think so. As was indicated previously, the day #1 packer was acceptable with what he had packed and placed against our living room wall. We don't remember the exact number of boxes he packed, and at this point it really doesn't matter, but the boxes packed during day #1 was what we thought to be about a dozen boxes, or so. *************************** can continue to spin his story any way he pleases about his company, but the bottom line is that he lied, and he knows it. And his one employee during day #2 knew to have the tv electronic components delivered and placed at the same location (master bedroom) as the flat screen tv. It's only common sense to understand it that way. And I'm fairly certain I mentioned to that same employee to keep the tv stuff together, including the antenna, and the box and weights which supported the antenna, as well as the electronic components. The movers had no issue delivering the antenna, and the box and weights supporting the antenna, to the master bedroom where the flat screen tv was placed. Why would the movers even consider that the electronic components to the flat screen tv be placed in the shed when the flat screen tv, the antenna, and the box and weights supporting the antenna were placed in the master bedroom next to each other? Is our point well taken? We hope so...... *************************** gave us the impression during the initial appointment of the estimate that, prior to the move, the door frames would be protected, padded, you name it.... And by the way, the employees of his company placed somewhat of a gash or dent, about 6 inches or so, on our front door of the house we were selling within days to a buyer, but we didn't notice the damage until after the move. Of course, his employees wouldn't have known about that gash/dent, or would they? Let's be real here. And *************************** basically sold us a service that we believed we could trust with his company. And we even indicated to him that the frontage at the delivery location was rather distant from the shed. He knows that. We specified that fact to him.. He didn't seem to question it at all. Since *************************** mentioned there was an extended timeframe to move items at a distance longer than expected, why didn't he include the possibility of any time loss or time spent to move those items in the estimate, or give us an estimate as a worst case scenario? We'll tell you why..... Because *************************** needed that job for his company and wanted his quote to come in less than the estimates of all the other movers, which came in at several hundreds of dollars more than his.. By the way, my wife counted at least 3 large, heavy boxes packed during day #2 with a number of items in each, and none of those boxes weren't marked with what the items were. And those boxes were packed on day #2 with the movers. For those of you (that is, potential customers) who wish to accept what ********************** says as gospel, take your chance and watch what happens. All we can tell you is that, rather than correct whatever problems he obviously has owning this moving company, **********************, on behalf of Lighthouse Movers, will do what he can to convince you as a customer that he and his company did and do nothing wrong and appear to blame his customers who don't agree with the quality of their service. We've went well over a few minutes to write our opinion about this company, now for a second time since ********************** thinks the problems only exist with the customers, not his company. It would certainly be a waste of our time to continue ANY FURTHER beyond this point.... BUYER/CONSUMER BEWARE....Lighthouse Movers, Inc. Response

"We wouldn't ordinarily make a fuss over a minor issue for anything, but........" This quote from the latest response from this customer surely shows a desire to hurt and defame, rather than get service or repair, when a simple call to our office would have brought immediate results. Suffice to say this is our last comment, as any more discussion would produce more heat than light. We regret that this move was not 100% satisfactory for this customer.
