0/5 not recommended. Shady billing practices are my main complaint. They do things that may not meet the legal definition of "fraud" but may leave you feelings defrauded. Went on for a checkup and cleaning. They said I needed perio scaling, fine. They said it needed to be done in 2 visits since that's what my insurance required. Fine. I did the scaling and it achieved good results and the hygienist was professional throughout. I paid after each visit. They tried selling me Invisalign, fine. Then they send me a billing notice for an additional $500, and my insurance says they don't cover the perio scaling unless there evidence of bone loss, but the updated bill is still showing some insurance coverage. They knew AHEAD OF TIME that my insurance wouldn't cover anything, lied straight to my face, and made me come in twice while blaming insurance. Just tell me it's not covered and give me an estimate, don't lie to me.

    Smile on Beach Boulevard.
12/05/24 I came to an office at 11:30a having my appointment and filled out all the forms va my comp before coming to them. I arrived 20 min before and at the reception I was met by an office employee who offered me to fill out forms, to which I replied that I did it at home. She said ok, but you didnt sign it. I replied that I read but dont signed because I dont agree w/your terms. She said that they need me to sign that I agree w/everything. I said that I dont agree with what is written on the first sheet and last one, where it says that I allow the office to sell my personal info to third-party marketers and receive the office profit from it. And the last page said that they are not signing a contract w/my insurance but with me and how much they'll ask for their work, that much I have to pay them out of my pocket and after they'll work w/my insurance. I said that all your forms say that it is my right to agree to your terms or not, so I dont agree, and also all available sources say that patients aren’t obliged to sign any office forms if they are not sure of the transparency of this info. She rudely demanded that I must sign papers otherwise, doctor wount see me. That I asked to talk to a manager. The woman who spoke to me in humiliating and offensive manner said that she is the manager. Then I ask her to give me her name and doctor’s name who has to provide me the service but never showed up to check what is going on in the office. After that, the manager said if I dont sign the paper she’ll call the police. She did it and when the police arrived, he told me that I should never cross the territory of this office again, since a report had been drawn up against me by the manager. Im 67 yo and I came to the office w/an emergency. I want to warn everyone who has dignity. In order not to be humiliated and insulted by the behavior of unprofessionals, from office workers to doctors, avoid this office as far as you can. Read all you sign!!!

Let me start by saying this has been my ******** dentist for about 3 years now. Ive always paid them upfront in full before I even need to make payment because I like to make sure things get paid in a timely manner and the amount is clear before receiving service. Recently I was let go by my employer but I still had insurance through December and I wasnt 100% sure that I was going to be able to keep my coverage the next year because of the timing for benefits elections with my wife (we were both working at the same place- at the time I was the main **************** wife was the spouse on the plan). After Smiles told me I needed to get Invisalign, we discussed billing and because of the insurance uncertainty, i wanted to hold off until my next visit to make sure my insurance situation was resolved. The person I was speaking with told me that the service is currently $4,000 total ($1,600 insurance would cover) but that it would be $5,000 if I waited until next visit. I told them my insurance situation and paid the entire $4,000 up front. A few days later, I found out that because I was let go of my job, my wife is able to re-elect her health insurance benefits and is able to add me as the secondary. My insurance plan is the exact same, I never had a day without being covered by my insurance. Smiles still refuses to refund me the amount that I paid out of pocket- they are saying that I will need to wait until the insurance pays the rest which they are saying can be up to 3 months. The whole situation makes no sense because they were only going to charge me the $2,400 until I told them about this insurance situation. So now they are just holding my money for no reason at all and honestly I have a feeling they are just not going to give it back. Just wanted to warn others, this place is not good business practices and I would not recommend this place to anybody after this experience.
