Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because:
Good afternoon,
1. I never received a letter notification as previously requested at least 3 times.
2. When I asked for a letter this most recent time, I was told “the request was already fulfilled” and they would not send a letter.
3. I would like the extremely rude phone calls to end.
4. If this is acceptable I will log back in via the text I received in February 2025 and make payments toward the debt.
Regards,

2024 I received a letter of collection from lien enforcement regardingba 2010 bmw coup son in call them andb tell them i have never owned a bmw. they still told me i owed approximately 2800 for this car once again I have never owned this vehicle.
i went to my local police department filed a police report, contacted the tow company where they aquired the debt and went to dmv and talked to the investigation department and filed report with them in which they did an investigation.
i wrote lien enforcement a letter to cease and desist communications with me due ti the fact i was getting calls real early in the morning and frequent calls from them.
i was threatened with putting it on my credit report and etc.
May 8th from Dmv stating that the information that was given by someone placing car in my name should never had been processed and i am not considered the owner of the car.
I sent lien enforcement the letter then proceeded to call them.
******** answered the phone i gave her the account number and she put me on hold and put ***** on the phone i told him i sent letter to the lien enforcement email.
he read some parts and i read the rest as following However , based on information received as a result of an investigation , it has been determined.
That the documents submitted to transfer the title contained fraudulent information. It should not have been processed.
I read that part to him and he still refuses to acknowledged this debt isnt my debt and that i don't and didn't own this car. he is disregarding what dmv has stated also ******** asked me did i hear from their attorney, so they are trying to victimize me by suing me for something that i have never owned.
I am seeking legal counsel
Also I spoke to ***** ****** from the tow yard and sent her the letter from dmvCustomer Answer

Sold a car on July 10th, 2024.
Sale documents sent to DMV on same day indicating sale of the vehicle.
September 11, 2024, notified by Tow Company that the car had been impounded by San Jose Police.
Notified tow yard car had been sold and checked with DMV, Sales documents had not been processed. Resent sales documents to DMV.
January 22, 2025 Contacted by Lien Enforcement INC to collect debt owed for towing and storage of the Vehicle.
Explained in detail and provided copies of all documents including a copy of the buyers drivers license. Lien Enforcement refused to accept the documents pertaining to the sale of the vehicle. When told what was provided was not good enough, they would not say what else may be needed to prove the car had been sold on July 10th, and I was no longer responsible for the car. Calls to Lien Enforce3ment to attempt to resolve the issue continue to be rebuked. Harry Anderson answers with are you ready to make a payment and when I say no I want to resolve that I do not owe this he hangs up and refuses to speak to me or any of my representatives. Harry is threatening to ruin my credit rating if I do not pay. Not my financial responsibility.! I want this removed from my records!Business Response

****** is a senior citizen 74 years old and has asked for help in resolving this issue. He sold a car last July and as he has in the past submitted all the necessary paperwork to DMV. Lien Enforcement has been trying to hold him accountable for towing after the sale of the vehicle. He has provided Lien Enforcement with the necessary information for the person buying the vehicle yet Lien Enforcement is trying to take advantage of a senior citizen by offering to settle for half the cost of the debt incurred by the new owner. Our next step is to file complaints with both Florida and California Attorney Generals! Attached is the documentation sent both electronically and by USPS to Lien Enforcement.Customer Answer

I have an appointment with my attorney this afternoon who has asked that I not reply until after the meeting. I can however state the response is not acceptable. The purchaser of the vehicle in question information has been provided to the California DMV on three occasions, the San Jose Police Department when contacted by them, to the Tow Yard when I was contacted and to everyone at Lien Enforcement including the BBB (See attached). Since Lien Enforcement will not follow California law and insist on holding me responsible for others actions and inactions we are considering the alternate paths of initiating legal proceedings ourselves by filing complaints of elder abuse with both the California and Florida Attorney Generals as well as civil punitive actions that may be allowed by law.Customer Answer

I had requested the company to certify mail a packet of the debt so I can dispute it.
I shared with the agency that I never received no mail as per I live in apartments and at times my mail gets lost. I informed them that I never received ****** towing notice of a car that I had previously sold (I have the DMV release of liability form for my records). The agency keeps emotionally distressing me and harassing me without any legitimate proof. The workers just say " I don't have to provide nothing, no certify items/ mail can be mailed out". I had previously requested A full itemization of the debt, including principal, interest, fees, and other charges ,The full name and address of the debtor at the time the debt was incurred and the last four digits of the debtor’s Social Security number.
The full name and address of the original creditor.
A copy of the original contract.
Other documents to support the debt.
I'm also requesting a log of when the car got towed and proves that *** *** tried contacting me. I have recorded calls of the employees screaming at me.Business Response

05/2023: I SOLD A CAR. The original Notice of Transfer Release of Liability was mailed on May 6, 2023 to DMV. In addition, I filed it online to DMV. I have a copy of Bill of Sale.
I received a letter on 09/2024 from Lien Enforcement Inc. stating I owe $2,850.55. If I write to them by 10/7/24, to dispute, submit all supporting documents.
Upon receiving the bill from Lien Enforcement, I went to DMV in Westminster, CA & showed the necessary documents. DMV told me to reply via mail to you with the proof documents. The DMV told me that it is not my responsibility that the new buyer did not register the car to their name.
On 9/11/24, I mailed & submitted a copy of the Bill of Sale and Note of Transfer/Release of liability to Lien Enforcement.
On 10/4/24, another notice came from Lien Enforcement. It is a breakdown of charges for 6/14/24 from Lien Enforcement Collection Department attempting to collect $2,865.30.
On 10/7/24, I called Lien Enforcement and spoke with ******. I explained to him that I submitted the necessary documents on account number **********. He stated I was the registered owner. I explained to him that I sold the car on May 2023 and attached a copy of the Bill of Sale with the Note of Transfer and Release of liability. He reminded me that I was on a recorded line which I was fine with and also instructed me to write what was discussed in an email and which I emailed him my statement and attached the necessary supporting documents.
He verified my date of birth and my place of employment. Awaiting to hear back from Lien Enforcement.
I DO NOT OWE YOU THE AMOUNT AS I SOLD THE CAR LAST YEAR ON 2023! I DID MY DUE DILIGENT AND MAILED THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS TO DMV AND REPLIED BACK TO YOU. IT IS NOT MY RESPONSIBILITY NOR FAULT IF THE NEW BUYER DOES NOT REGISTER THE CAR TO THEIR NAME. The DMV also told me that it is not my responsibility that the new buyer did not register the car to their name.Business Response

Received a collection note from lien enforcement Inc, May of 2024 telling me I owed them $1828.17, saying this was my 2nd notice about this but I never received anything at all before this, co I called the number on the notice to find out what this was about they said that there was a vehicle, a 2005 ford mustang that was taken away and that I was the registered owner of the vehicle at that time and I had to pay for the fees. I told them I didn’t know anything about this vehicle, that I have never owned this vehicle, and the 1st person I spoke to about this(****) I asked what they needed to get this out of my name bc I felt I was being scammed and he said I just needed a registration history report of this vehicle showing I had never been registered owner of the vehicle and it could be removed,so I went through the trouble of getting this document which I sent immediately after receiving took maybe about 1 month, for them to just come back and say that the certified DMV document that did not show my name on there at all was not accepted bc it did not match the paperwork the tow yard Keystone towing had provided them, so I point out the fact that, that was the sole purpose of that document was to proof that what they had was wrong, and they still won’t do their own research and they will not tell me what I need to provide them to show them I’ve never been the registered owner of this vehicleBusiness Response

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because:
Dear LEI Team,
Thank you for your recent communication and for clearing my name of the debt related to the 2005 Ford Mustang. However, I want to reiterate that Keystone Towing never contacted me regarding this matter. The only notice I received was a second attempt letter from LEI. Upon receiving this, I promptly contacted LEI and provided all requested documentation to resolve the issue. Despite my efforts, I was initially informed that the documentation was insufficient, and I would still be responsible for the debt.
Now that you have confirmed the account is closed and returned to your client, I would appreciate receiving written confirmation that this debt will not be pursued further. Please provide me with proof of this for my records so we can close this matter.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.Regards,

Lien Enforcement, Inc. took possession of an automobile previously owned by me about April 2, 2023 that I partially sold and did a release of liability on a factious name that the buyer provided on November 27, 2022. Buyer claimed to be ***** ********* but in fact was driving on a suspended license. Driver promised to return with remainder of purchase price but instead drove 9 months racking up tickets, incidence, incursions and toll fines. Lein Enforcement contacted me after keeping my old vehicle in storage 21 days. There was no phone call, or prompt attempt to inform me that the auto turned up and that the new owner was arrested. I have a time stamp from the DMV showing that it was not my auto at the time of towing.Business Response

I had recieved a letter for unpaid fines on a car I had sold over 3 years ago that they were trying to collect. The lady told me I’m on a recorded line. She, A. ********, told me I had a debt I needed to settle before she ruins my credit. I told her that I had mailed in the release of liability to her. The dmv is aware that the car no longer belongs to me. ******** proceeds to tell me I’m liable for the fines because the buyer didn’t register the car. She also tells me that the car was impounded because of unpaid parking tickets. She also tells me that the new owner never registered it because he couldn’t smog it. She states that if the seller doesn’t smog the vehicle, that it’s the buyers responsibility to smog the car so that it can complete the transfer. And that the seller is liable for the costs in a small claims court situation. None of that happened. So she proceeds to tell me that the car was sold at an auction and that I just have to pay the remaining balance of $400+ interest. I told I’m not paying for that. It’s not my car and the fines don’t belong to me. She pretends to speak to her manager, comes back to offer me two options her “manager” offered. Pay or Pay. I asked her if that car was still my responsibility, how was it sold at an auction without my consent and who’s responsible for that smog check? She hangs up on me. I call back, she greets me with “mark, are you ready to pay?” I told her that she’s not answering any of my questions and I’d like to speak to her manager. She replies there’s nothing left to say. She states the car is at an impound and the overnight charges will accumalate until the debt is settled. But I thought the car was sold?! She hangs up on me again. This place is extremely unprofessional and I’m convinced this is a scam.Business Response
