I have used this facility 3 times over the past 2 years. The treatment provided there has been more than satisfactory. HOWEVER, The BUSINESS and Billing practices should be considered criminal! When you go to this facility you must prepay for services based on THEIR estimates of costs. On all three occasions my fees estimated to be due were OVER charged by almost 100% . Seriously? In todays modern technology driven world you cannot determine costs, within a smaller MARGIN OF ERROR than that? September 28, 2021 pre charged $2639.00 actual amount due $1345.18 > OVER CHARGE $1293.82 June 27th, 2023- pre charged $406.80 actual amount due $205.50 >OVER CHARGE $201.30 July 20th, 2023 pre charged $406.80 actual amount due $205.50 > OVER CHARGE $201.30 The process to get a refund in the case from 2021 took 60 days. Refunds requested for the 2023 procedures are still pending and now over 60 days. Essentially, this medical facility requires you to LOAN them money in order to get your medical treatment. Patients are hostage to the process! I paid on demand the day of surgery, with financial strain during a period that I was off work. Memorial takes an excessive amount of time in refunding, when money is so desperately needed. Before I am fed excuses about insurance processing times, I do know that with most medical billing systems are automated between providers and insurance companies. Additionally, when I sought out the refund for June 27th services, I was advised Oh, generally [we] process the two cases together and send as one refund. You have the audacity to say we'll wait , which clearly indicates that you know an ERROR was made, not once but twice! NO ! I paid on your demand the day of surgery. I want my refunded processed PROMPTLY. As in the day you receive notices from the insurer, that YOU overcharged me. You already have my money, and can see the insurers updated resolution statement. Start the refund process immediately for the patient.
