I hired *************************** in November of 2021 to paint my home. I declined to give a review at that time because there were many issues. Most of which were resolved but, it wasn't pleasant dealing with him. Unfortunately, I had to contact ****************** again recently, due to the fact the paint on the ceiling of my front porch is blistering, cracking and beginning to peel. He came out and took no responsibility. He said the paint is blistering because the ceiling is made of drywall and humidity or water will cause that. He told me it's a problem with my roof and it must be leaking. My roof is only a couple of years old. I told him that he should have taken into consideration that the ceiling is made of drywall when he did the job. But, now it's going to crack and peel and it's my problem after hiring him and paying him $2800. He said, "I come, I paint the house, that's it." I told him I have a 3 year warranty. He said, "So, what does that mean? Do you expect to paint it like a new house?" Those are his words verbatim. I was taking notes because I knew he was going to give me a hard time based on the last time I had to deal with him. He didn't like my attitude and I sure enough didn't like his. The conversation became heated and we were both speaking in raised voices. He threatened to have his wife call me. He left stating he wasn't dealing with me and he wasn't fixing it. ****************** is unprofessional, his work is subpar, and the warranty on his work is worthless.

    Business Response

    Date: 01/04/2023

*************** contacted me on 12/20/22 I answered her email the same day and next morning I was on her house, with the intention to take a look and remedy the issue if it was necessary. I was there because I am responsible and have all the intention to resolve any issue, if I didn't want to take responsibility how she stated, I wouldn't have stopped at her house the next morning or I would have simply ignored her email and not responded to her, but I did it because she was my client and it is my word, my reputation and my business, and as she mentioned in her complaint while I worked with her, even after, every complaint or every detail that she asked me for was resolved, then why this time wouldn't have to be any different. When I got to her house, I noticed that this was happening to the paint due to problems with the drywall on her ceiling, something that is not covered by the warranty, as the warranty she signed clearly stated that I will repair any blistering, peeling, chipping, flaking, or excessive chalking as a result of flawed workmanship ( Something that *************** admits was caused by the environment, which is something I do not include in the guarantee because environmental changes can happen and I have no control over that), as soon as I tried to explain this her she started to say that she didn't understand me, my first language is Spanish and I admit that maybe I don't pronounce all the words correctly. But in the past, she never had a problem understanding me only this time when the answer wasn't what she wanted to hear. To try to make her understand me because she said she didn't know what a drywall was, I show her a photo so she could see what a drywall was, but this was not enough and she was yelling at me, I respect everyone but I deserve respect as well, so as soon as I saw that the conversation was getting heated, I told her that I would send my wife, not as a threat as she tries to say, since my wife is not a threat to anyone, but for my wife to go and explain to her, since her English is much more fluent than mine and I understood that my wife could explain it better. Also, you may not know but my wife works with me, I am the face that people know because I interact with the clients, but she is the one who is sitting behind a desk doing all the rest of the work that the client may not see. J&S ******************* But every client who has had the opportunity to interact with my wife can testify how professional she is. But unfortunately, there was no opportunity for an interaction and to reach a resolution between my company representative (my wife) and ***************, because the same day I started receiving notifications from **** list and other websites where *************** was already writing negative reviews, without even giving my wife the opportunity to go and talk to her, but mentioning in the reviews that if my wife is a better businesswoman to please ***** her contact her, Can a person want to find a solution when, without having finished talking to the people in the company, you are already speaking badly everywhere?. From that I understood that she only wanted to discredit my company because what I explained to her was not what she wanted to hear, but apparently she did not want to continue dealing with my company either and it was more easy for her to try to discredit my company than waiting to talk to my wife and find a resolution before writing negative reviews. Unfortunately, *************** is complaining about something that is not covered by the warranty, attached is a screenshot from our neighborhood website where she also went to discredit my name and my company, but she admits that it was something caused by the environment. *************** should take into consideration that this year we had two hurricanes, something that could have affected that part of the drywall and the paint, I have also attached a photo of other area of her house that show damage from the storms, I clarify that this photo was taken the same day that I went to see the roof, and its only used with the purpose to show her that weather affected her house, it is not that I went to her house to take photos as she tried to make it see on the community website, because I am a professional and I know what is correct and what is not and I would NEVER disrespect a person or their property. I know if things don't go your way with the BBB you may try to go with DBPR but please *************** if you see this, please be truthful with yourself and other and stop trying to destroy my company because if you are fair, you know that is not cover under the warranty. Thank you

I am rejecting this response because: ****************** is being dishonest. He never had any intention of fixing the problem. He kept making excuses. First, it was my roof is leaking, then it was the hurricane, and my favorite..."That's what happens when you paint drywall and moisture gets to it." You should have taken that into consideration when you did the job. Painting the outside of homes is your PROFESSION. I AM THE ONE who called it environmental damage. Which you are NOW trying to use as an excuse. We live in the ****************. It is hot, humid, and wet, all the time. Your rebuttal is absurd. I absolutely posted reviews about my experience the same day. We were both speaking in raised voices and he stormed off saying he wasn't going to fix it. ****************** also posted a picture of the damaged fascia above my garage. It happened during the recent hurricane because it was already compromised. It was the only area that was damaged. That is NOT the ceiling on my front porch. I have attached pictures of my entire porch ceiling. There is no water or watermarks anywhere near or around the area or anywhere else for that matter. ****************** lied and continues to lie. The pictures, the contract, the time frame, the environment we live in (WHICH IS *******) all speak for themselves. You chose to do the wrong thing. That's on you. I gave you the review you deserved.

    Sincerely,

    ***********************
