      I employed Apollo Environmental to come out and perform a mold assessment at my home on 9/25/25. I paid the invoice amount of $960 and we scheduled the appointment on Friday 10/24/25. Apollo advertises on their website "Mold is a natural part of our environment, helping to break down organic matter. Mold must have a source of moisture to grow. Common indoor sources of moisture include plumbing and roof leaks". This is precisely what I hired them for. On Oct 24th a gentleman arrived at my home in an unmarked vehicle and without a company uniform. He proclaimed to be from Apollo Environmental and was at my home to perform the mold assessment. My wife was extremely scared and uneasy about letting him into the home with my two underage children. She called me frantically and I informed her to proceed based on our scheduled appointment. As I walked him around the home and let him know why he was there, I showed the gentleman where the roof leaks (moisture) were and asked if he needed to do any testing in those areas. The gentleman indicated that he only planned on testing the air samples inside the home. I then questioned why he didn't need to test the attic since that's where the "source" of the moisture was. The gentleman then proclaimed, "I'm just here to get samples". At this point I called the office and spoke with *****. I explained to him that I believed the source of the moisture should be tested to truly identify the source of my mold problem. ***** went on to claim that they do NOT in fact identify the source of the mold because "mold is everywhere in the air and could come from anywhere". I then informed him that I would no longer be needing the services of Apollo Environmental. I had followed up with the office to confirm a refund was being processed and they tried to now claim that I would be subject to a "cancellation fee" which would be calculated by time and mileage. This "fee" should not be applied as they misrepresented their services.

      Apollo Environmental was hired to perform a mold assessment at the complainant's property. Our mold assessments include visual observations and both surface and air sampling to determine if mold proliferation is present inside the home. A moisture survey is conducted to locate any elevated moisture content levels in the building materials, and readings for temperature and relative humidity are taken to determine if the **** system is doing an adequate job of cooling and dehumidifying the indoor air.

      On October 24, 2025. Apollos Florida Licensed Mold Assessor, *******, arrived at the property as scheduled. The clients wife showed ******* the areas of concern, and he began his inspection and sample collection. Mr. ******** arrived about half an hour later and began questioning *******. When he didnt get the response he wanted, Mr. ******** called the office and talked to me, the owner of Apollo. Mr. ******** was outraged that ******* expressed some doubt that the mold around the ** vents indoors was a direct result of a roof leak issue he was having in the garage. Mr. ******** informed me that he was suing the roofer responsible for the roof leak in the garage, and if we could not prove that the mold indoors was a direct result of the roof leak in the garage, then he did not need our services. I explained that our conclusion would be based on our findings at the time of our site visit, and I could not promise him
      the answer he was demanding. He then told me that he wanted to cancel the Mold Assessment. I called ******* and instructed him to stop work and return to the office.
      Because our technician had already traveled to the site and the cancellation occurred on-site, a travel fee was applied for drive time and mileage in the amount of $125.10. We offered to refund the remaining $834.90 of the original $960 invoice as a fair and reasonable resolution. The customer declined, demanding a full refund.

      Apollo Environmental stands by our integrity and professionalism. We were transparent about the scope of our services and would have performed them in good faith. The customer chose to cancel after learning that we would not tailor our professional findings to suit his legal position. We believe our partial refund offer was appropriate, and it remains available should the customer wish to accept it.

      I am rejecting this response because: The businesses response is utterly laughable. At no point was there ever any outrage. Apollo environmental sent an unqualified and extremely unprofessional representative to perform work. Again the company REFUSED to test the mold in the attic or take samples, which is why they were told NOT to continue. They refused to do the work they were contracted to do. 

      Additionally the company has been contacted on multiple occasions and given the credit card information to process my refund. They have failed to refund ANY of the payment they were contracted for. The company additionally has failed to provide ANY documentation with my signature acknowledging their standard policy of withholding mileage and labor rates for work they failed to perform. Please provide the documentation to the BBB where I acknowledged and agreed to this policy.

      Apollos Mold Assessor has been a Certified Indoor Environmentalist and a Florida Licensed Mold Assessor since 2020, and Apollo has been an Environmental ****************** since 1986.  I am happy to provide copies of his and Apollos Licenses and Certifications if needed.

      We were fully prepared to collect mold samples from the garage attic, as the client requested, had we been allowed to complete the Mold Assessment.  The client requested the mold samples in the garage attic because, as he stated, if the mold in the attic was the same as the mold around the ** vents indoors, it would confirm that the roof leak in the garage was responsible for the mold around the ** vents.  I explained to him why this correlation was not necessarily true.  He stated that this was not the answer he needed for his legal case against the roofing contractor, and the client canceled the Mold Assessment.

      We have already refunded the clients credit card charges, with the exception of a $125.10 fee to cover drive time and mileage. We did not bill him for the time spent on-site, nor did we charge for the air cassettes and sterile swabs used prior to the cancellation.  We believe this to be more than fair.

      Lastly, as an Environmental Consulting firm, Apollo often finds itself positioned between parties with differing expectations.  One side may hope we uncover every possible issue, while the other prefers that none be found.  Regardless of who engages our services, our sole responsibility is to perform our work objectively and report only what our findings reveal.

      I am rejecting this response because:
      They have withheld a portion of my money unjustly and failed to provide any documentation with my signature authorizing them to withhold funds. For the third time, please produce documentation with my signature authorizing you to withhold funds. Until documentation can be provided my expectation is a FULL REFUND. I have also disputed this with the credit card company due to their lack of cooperation.
