Living at Social 28 was the worst experience of my collegiate journey. Upon signing my lease, I was informed that the complex had two types of parking, a vending machine style klaus parking and a regular one level parking garage. After looking at the vending machine parking lot, I immediately notified the leasing office (several times) that I would prefer the regular parking as my car is too low and the metal band that is attached to the lever upon which you place the car would damage my bumper. The leasing office aware of this, proceeded to tell me that they would keep that in mind when assigning parking. Several months go by and now it is time for me to move in and I was told a couple days before that I was given the vending machine parking spot. I immediately called and they said there was nothing they could do as they have now run out of parking spots. Mind you, I notified them of this months prior to them assigning parking spots. During move in day, a male on the maintenance staff was aiding in helping those who were assigned the vending parking spots to park correctly. It was now my turn and I stated several times " I don't think my car is going to fit, I scared its going to damage my car". He proceeded to tell me "it's fine, your car is fine" and even got in the car to help it be placed directly in the parking spot so I could park. Once I was in the car and attempting to place it in the parking spot, I heard concerning noises and stated out the window " I don't think it is going to fit " He did not care and stated " its fine push the car in and sure enough the metal band dislocated my bumper and left a noticeable scratch on my car. I notified the leasing office as I was now livid that my new car was now tainted with scratches. It was not until I showed persistently complained that they gave me a regular parking spot which previously belonged to an employee. This particular parking spot was barred as everyone was moving that day so I would leave and find a car parked direclty in front of my parking spot. It was so hard park, I accidentally hit the car next to me in attempt (for which all the damages were paid for by me immediately, not only did I notify the leasing office of that particular incident and left a note. I kept coming every hour just to see if I could find the owner of the car and give her my info personally which I did) Before this the girl working the front desk said " Sorry there is nothing I can do, your only option is to use street parking" (for which I had no permit). Imagine going through all of this for a parking spot that is $200 a month. I was told that the complex was going to pay for the damages and even after providing a quote, THEY NEVER DID! BUT RATHER PROCEEDED TO GIVE ME THE RUN AROUND WHILE GASLIGHTING ME. Throughout this entire debacle, I was incredibly upset and now disappointed that I am legally binded to a lease living in this place. Please DO NOT sign a lease here, there are NUMEROUS other apartment complexes that are much cheaper and still very close to campus I assure you. I'm sure as you can read the numerous terrible reviews left on their ****** page you can see that treating guests and their personal property with little regard is a never ending pattern.
