I live in Sunbay since May 2020.I've always paid rent on time and had no complaints against me.Due to the circumstances I have to move out.At the end of Aug. I asked the office about breaking the lease.I was told it's not possible and was advised to find a sublet who would apply through the office.For 2 months I've been posting ads on ****** and paid ads on the *********.I didn’t know if anyone applied until I got a call from an applicant **** late Oct.11th saying she applied after seeing my ad and was asking what unit I am in.I sent an email to the office on Oct.12th,asking if she applied and got a reply from them the same day stating she did and instructions on how the process will work.I replied on Oct.13th.The last email I got from the leasing office was Oct.14th and it asked her if the move-in date and the viewing date would work for her.I never got a response about visiting my unit even though I tried to call **** multiple times Oct.12th to set up viewing,but she didn’t answer.I didn’t get any response from the office until I asked on Oct.19th and got a response that she is moving into a different unit.The office failed to communicate with me and let me know if my preferred move out date would work for the sublet.It would be clear from her application if the move out date would or wouldn't work but nobody contacted with me to let me know.Had anyone contacted me,I could've moved out earlier but I was left out.So,the office leased their apartment and made me to search for another sublet.I think the office will keep doing that,to not to let me leave and not communicating with me,renting their apartments to sublets that I find and not counting it towards my sublet.This sublet was approved for my unit by Oct.12th,we both got the email with instructions on lease transfer.Due to lack of communication from the office and the fact that this person ended up signing a lease with Sunbay after seeing my ad for my unit in the *********,this should count as my sublet.
